When a gamer sells their collection, you know life stuff is happening. I sold my entire collection many years ago to buy my first house for my family. I still collect today but nowhere near what I use to have. That collection may have made me happy back then but it funded a home for new memories with my family and it was worth every penny.
Whoever Paul is, he has an INCREDIBLE life of gaming. It's amazing to see such a clean collection and know that more people will get to enjoy these too. No way his days of gaming are done, even if he doesn't go back to the older stuff anymore. As someone trying to make up for missed games because we weren't able to afford them growing up, this is literal gold lol Got my first GameCube, gba, xb360, ps3 phat, Dreamcast, and N64 just this year and even though i have to fix them up a bit i can't wait to find a couple good games for each!
I am about 12 minutes and 13 seconds in and I'm in complete shock at this point. This dude had such a variety of games for different game systems and I'm sitting here watching as she's showing us all these different games. On all these different systems and I've yet to see one copy of Mortal Kombat lol. I mean normally we'll see like Mortal Kombat 3 on the Genesis on most trades, but damn no Mortal Kombat... That guy did have a epic and clean collection.
As you go through life, priories change. Total respect for him to preserve the stuff he had for the chance of the younger generation to experience retro gaming. Eventually everyone will have an epiphany and figure out that there are a lot of things you can't take to the grave or have your children/relatives be burden with.
Its not a sad thing entirely, it differs per person. There are many phases in life and sometimes the owners have moved on and other activities in life bring them more joy. I had a pretty nice collection at one point and ended up selling because for a long time it collected dust. I didn't have the same joy in playing games like I used to. It happens. The cool thing is that now others get to enjoy it and it will help to support a small business. Theres a lot of good that comes from this.
Whoever sold this collection makes me really proud. He kept his stuff in killer condition. I resell full time and it always brings a smile to my face when I get really great condition stuff in stock. I'm used to getting trash and game discs that it looks like were stored on concrete. lol
When I see people give up collections like this it always makes me wonder whats really going on in their life. You can see how much he loved gaming just from how well his collection was kept... to let such a beautiful collection go must have been hard. I wish him well.... and great job to RadJunk for such an amazing come up.
I've had to sell my entire gaming collection twice. Since then I'm in a much better situation and I'm slowing building back some of what I had, with a launch PS3, a 3DS, and an orange Gamecube that I just bought. I think I'll be good with a Switch, an Xbox 360, an N64, and maybe a Dreamcast. But that 64 is going to be a budget-buster if I decided to rebuild that part of my old collection, yikes. Anything Mario is still really spendy.
I mean, it's hard to pick just one thing out of this collection. It's an impressive library of consoles, games & peripherals spanning several generations. It's cool that he decided to come all the way to you guys to sell his collection; that was rad! It's really cool to see what you guys get on trade-ins.
Wow what a collection! I'm sure Paul was happy to find someone to buy it all in one go. Respect to Paul, you obviously take great care of your things; that Super Mario RPG sample blew my mind! 😮 Thanks @RadJunk for sharing.
I really like this guy. I can’t decide what the best gem of this collection is bonk three CD, Saturn bomber man, NAMCO set on PS1, or the fact that he left the blockbuster sticker on earthbound. This is my kind of collector.
Thank you for immortalizing his collection! What a great channel! You guys are so passionate! It was so fun to freak out about random things that weren't mentioned, like everything from Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast to the 7th column gym bag (wish I was local so I could buy it! lol) Thanks so much for the video, and thanks to you, Paul, for loving and having passion for video games so much - I wish you the best in life and your move!
This collection is nuts! Those CIB SNES and the Dreamcast games alone make me want to plan a trip to Florida to spend way too much money on them. Amazing additions to the store inventory
I'm 50 and if I had this kind of collection I could imagine myself selling it all as well. There is a point you reach where holding on just isn't much sense any longer. I still have my 1992 Amiga 1200 that's still got it's Blizzard 030 accelerator, new keys caps, new case, 32 MB of fast ram, Goex Drive.. etc .. and I HAVE considered selling it. But many say I'll regret it, so I'll hold onto it.

Wow, this is an amazing collection 🎉 you guys grabbed. Shouts to the gentleman who owned it previously as well. Hope he’s good! Y’all definitely got some gems! 💎
Love seeing trade-in videos, crazy seeing all the stuff people had in their collection. It'd be cool seeing videos on what it's like working/owning a game store. One of my local game stores, TND Video Games (they have a TH-cam channel), often posted videos talking about misconceptions about owning a store, trends they see in terms of what sells and the type of questions they get asked, and what their favourite games are and the type of stuff they themselves collect

Hopefully it's not out of desperation and he's just moving on to different things. Edit: He even had the packaging for the eCards and folders of printed out guides. I love seeing these kind of collections as it reminds me of my own. I'm so attached to my (ever growing) collection that I could never sell it, luckily, I have kids to hand them down to.
That is a fucking great game collection you bought! It's very rare seeing N64 games in the original boxes, but it's also beautiful too. I grew up playing and I have all 3 Turok games and Doom 64 digitally on my Xbox Series X. I see you all have an Original XBOX console [CIB] and N64 console [CIB], that's so beautiful too 😍. Near the end of the video, I saw there was a copy of Need for Speed Underground 2 [PS2] in the box by the door, I recently bought Need for Speed Underground 2 [OGX] from the Salvation Army for $12.95 ($9.71 because of the half-off sticker).

I had a complete run of Nintendo Power magazines from 1987 (including the mini issues) to 2000 I also had tons of issues of Die Hard Game Fan, Electronic Gaming Monthly, GamePro, etc... In addition, I had tons of NES, SNES, Genesis, Turbo Grafx, Turbo Duo, Neo Geo, etc... lots of consoles/games I had been collecting since the early 80's up until 2000. --- and that's just the gaming stuff. I also had tons of Star Wars toys from the 70s, a near complete He-Man & Transformers collections, G.I. Joe, M.U.S.C.L.E, Wheeled Warriors, etc.. etc... basically, enough stuff to open my own store. Anyway... what had happened was I went away for school. My family ended up moving and put a lot of stuff in storage. They ended up keeping the storage unit for years, as they had moved several times. Eventually, my father passed away. My sister then agreed to take over the storage. By this time, I had also moved away. I figured my stuff was safe in storage so just left it all be. My sister had a ton of valuable items in storage as well. Eventually my sister got married. At some point, my brother-in-law said he would "take care of everything" for my sister. One of those things was agreeing to pay the storage. Some time later, I ended up back in town and had wanted to get my stuff out of storage as I had my own place. It turned out that my brother-in-law had lied that he was paying for storage. The unit ended up getting auctioned off. We didn't find out about it until well afterwards.

I just hope the collector got a beyond fair price for it because it's obvious he gave that collection a lot of love.
I'm a bit surprised that the collector didn't seem to know how big a deal Bonk 3 CD is. It was the final game in the US in December of 94. I wonder if he bought it then or if he got it later on eBay before the price skyrocketed?
Imagine If the gamer who sold this all went home and noticed that he took the wrong game boxes and now is stuck with the real games he wanted to get rid off. This was a great game find.
