RTD tried his best to mend the mess that was previously done and stitch it into the canon in a proper semi-functional way, but I think it should be left at that. Maybe in the future it can be explored what species the Doctor really is or what really is his homeworld but it feels like it's too soon now.

I love this theme! When the horn first comes in at the beginning, it's the same two notes as the cyberman theme, then you get a bit of Simm! Master's theme and then theme and similarities from the Satan's pit. I wonder if that will all come together to mean something? And I love the church bell ringing at the end. Very ominous
