They literally open Zimzalabim music video on an elevator signaling the start of Day 1, and in LP you are stepping out of the elevator, getting ready to go to your destination Day 2. God... I take this album with me everywhere I go. I can't tell you how much I love your channel. I love watching people who actually KNOW music freak out over how good Red Velvet is. Some thoughts. 1.) The full blown Reggae vibe of SSU is my personal pick for B-side of the year. 2.) Irene's "lilt-rap" in Milkshake always cracks me up. 3.) That gigantic synth-bass during the chorus of Parade is absolutely life-changing on a quality set of headphones. 4.) LP makes me want to enjoy a cigarette ( even though I no longer smoke ) and a stiff drink. Perfect album closer. I saw an interview with Wendy where she said that SM has their harmonies well-mapped out before they even hit the studio. But she said her favorite part of the recording process is AFTER all the main vocal tracks are laid. That is when they let her and Seulgi spend the day in the studio improvising all those wonderful ad-libs RV albums are chock-full of. She said that is when the songs really come alive for her. Keep up the great work. Can't wait for "Day 2!"
@@meli093 I got IGAB vibes from Zimzalabim the first time I heard it as well. Oddly enough, ZZB maintains an even tempo throughout the song more than IGAB does. Both iconic songs that you never forget where you were the first time you heard them.

It's crazy how rich red velvet discographies are, not only in terms of musicality, but also their harmonisations. I rarely found a group that focus on both. Usually if the music is rich, they lack the harmonisations and melodies. But rv is totally different!

Definitely my favorite Red Velvet's album to date. A masterpiece considering how diverse the songs stand yet how RVy they are. Also worth mentioning is how they sequence the songs for entire album listening experience. ReVe Fest Day 1 is a sonic journey in itself.
