    Another super solid video! Makes me think about what kind of new stereo would work nicely in our '74 Super.

      Yeah it's been great. Nice and subtle. I'm thinking about putting one in my old truck as well.

    Not sure if you still check the comments but what fuses or how do you connect the radio for power trying to install a radio as my 72 super beetle did not come with one. Another question is about windshield wiper and fluid but that's for another time, for now just the fuse location or how you connected the radio to power

    Looks like RetroSound makes a stock looking radio for #theolddodge was well! May have to get one.

      If you do, please make a video. I found this video while trying to find a install/review of the RetroSound New York M4 before I spend the money on one for my 84 D150.

    Those are awesome seats!! Where you get them from and what mounts did you use?

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are out of a wrecked MK2 Jetta GLI. And I believe the seat bases were from Scat. I had to modify them somewhat. It was like 15 years ago so it’s hard to remember. 😂

    I enjoyed watching very very much! I'll order from this radio but the seats are so beautiful I wonder where you got it ?

      Check out the “tour” video on the VW playlist. I talk about where the seats came from. :-)

    Jason, love the video. I am currently updating my stereo and adding rear speakers. I have the leads running from the rear speakers up the center channel but I'm stumped on where to get through to the dash. Help!!!

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm. All my speaker wiring is just under the carpet on passenger side.

      @@JasonExplainsThings I can re run the wires up the passenger side but where do you punch through to get the wires to the back of the radio????

    Jason (& others): would this new/classic radio (or other models) work with an original 6-volt wiring harness/battery like in my ‘62 vw bug?

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm... I’d contact Retrosound, but I doubt it.

    • @DanTheManIOM
      @DanTheManIOM 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      IDK, carry two 6 volt batteries and wire in series to get your 12v for 12v radio...or find a 6V radio on the Samba...but it probably just going to be AM...

    Hi Jason are you running an amp? How do u connect the 8" sub to the radio...

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I’m running an amp to power the subwoofer. It’s connected with an RCA audio cable. Pretty basic. The head unit powers the left/right speakers.

    You gain a ton of access by removing the glove box in a super beetle.
