Not sure if it's common knowledge or if it was just luck but Leon can actually dodge a grab if you run diagonally away from them, causing the grab to only catch an arm allowing Leon to shake them off and keep running. Happened to me once so people would have to confirm it.
@welowrider32 Yeah, that happened to me a few times, but I never actually tested to confirm how to do it. What I can confirm is that crouching will evade most of the enemy grab attempt animation. However, when an enemy's grab attempt is about to end, they sort of stumble and reach dowards, and that is the part of their grab that can still catch you even while crouching. So, the best thing to do is crouch while walking to the side to get out of the enemy's trail before their grab attempt ends.

Knowing how Salazar can be almost entirely taken care of by hitting him in the face with a golden egg saved so much ammo for me on my first time through. I imagine if there was a speedrun category for no merchant in this version of the game, itd be a big thing to get the two golden eggs before the fight to allow you to skip the entire fight.
You can technically duck the grabs, there is even a tip that tells you can crouch to avoid grabs. Although it’s very inconsistent, it’s usually 50/50 whenever I play. Sometimes I dodge them, other times I just get grabbed anyway despite crouching 2 seconds before I got grabbed. I could see why you thought the grabs are uncrouchable. The crouch dodge wasn’t implemented very well.
If you are fast enough, right before activating the lift in the bell tower, pull the lever to drop a spiked ball then jump down and pull the elevator lever. The ball will squash the zelot

I can’t believe someone left a comment about speed running like that! With that way of thinking, even real world science would not matter since every improvement in all fields were built on someone else’s discovery. Just because you began at someone else’s technique doesn’t mean there is nothing further to find or optimize. People get better much faster when they build on each others findings! (As long as the original method is credited).
Just So you know as this will be Pretty useful for speed runs you can just skip the whole Village survival section By just shooting the Bell tower in the distance your self. You can do it with a pistol too. so no wasting ammor or waiting for a timer.
ive actually seen people crouch the grab, its just you have to have a good time to get down cause they can get you mid duck. im guessing they might be able to get you on a hill too, since they can cause you to flub melee. its actually working on collision boxes not just a script.
DUDE, I had the exact same complaints about grabbers on my first playthrough except mine was more about how inconsistent parrying was. I found that sometimes, you CAN parry grabber enemies, and it even cuts off their arm so they can't grab anymore, but it's super inconsistent how the game decides when it wants to let the parry actually work. Even perfect parrys don't always do it.
I love re4 remake, but my only gripe is the way the game handles enemies. The game does this wave thing with enemies and it can get really annoying sometimes. Had a lot of ammo? Well get ready for 3 waves of enemies that spawn out of nowhere and now u have 20 spare handgun bullets for the next section of the game. As much as I'm complaining though I absolutely adore this game and it's one of my favorite RE games ever so I would still recommend it 👌
Well to answer your question. Yes you can. I did 3 trophies in one run in ng+. Minimalist, frugalist, and silent stranger. Was pretty easy to do honestly with infinite ammo and Ashly knight armor.
@PeakWheat tbh I don't think he even knew about it or the auto sniper, else he would've mentioned it at the start when talking about weapons you don't need to buy, and consideringtheres mechanics he doesnt even know about like lettibg leon aim for a second makes the crosshair smaller abd eliminate the bloom he complained so much about. But you're right he wouldn't have been able to pick it up anyway unless he thought it was a worthy trade with the shotgun or red 9
The bloom is balanced out by having the ability to hold still and the crosshairs will get smaller. The red9 is by far the least accurate handgun, which is why I use the black tail. Fully upgraded, you won’t really know the difference in power, but it’s so much more accurate. The red9 requires more patience to get good accuracy out by holding as still as possible. Bloom is how they’ve balanced our moving while shooting, it requested you to hold still to get off accurate shots, so you can’t just move all the time and kill everything like the doom slayer lol. Is it somewhat random where the Bullet goes? Yes, but you can control the size of the bloom and how you use it to be near perfect in accuracy and precision.
What you have done is explain the mechanics of how bloom works. A known quantity. We all understand it. The issue is that bloom is trash and dumb to smoke, but devs keep filling our bongs with it.
There is a way to weave the grabbers. You can walk a little to the side, then sprint the other way, and they will most likely miss. Shoot them in the back of the knee and german suplex to victory
you might already be aware but you can end the village sequence early if you manage to shoot the church bell from the 2 floor roof in in the shotgun building, easier on ng+ but still doable I think esp with practice

Fun fact, for the salazar fight, if you collect an egg and throw it in his face at the start, it wipes out like, 80% of his health bar. The video I saw used a golden egg, so not sure if it has to be that one (haven't tested myself yet) but that could be a game changer possibly.
How have I never seen this channel before?!? You’re breakdowns of speed runs are genuinely entertaining and informative. Subscribed!
The room with the two blind guys as long as you don’t past halfway on the big table in front of them and only use the bolt thrower even mines they big blind guys will not break off the wall just no regular guns but you can use flash boomers. You can kill all the regular enemies then take on the blind dudes using the bells which lets them injure each other. The game hints to use the bolt thrower since it has bolts and mines as drops around the room.
Problem is that zealots keep spawning until the Garradors are dead. You can get yourself a window by taking them out silently, but I found it easier to just wake the Garradors and then run around and let them take care of the zealots, and then put shots into the Garradors once the zealots have thinned out a bit.
@@alondite215 they run out eventually just stay in the first half of the room no problem. But yes that works to
13:33 This is the exact reason why I used the starting pistol with the laser sight throughout my entire play-through, the bloom in high intensity shooting (especially on the Red9) is aids
I believe you can parry Krauser's thrown knifes to get a brand new knife fot yourself to use. Idk if the drop rate is 100% or if it works on pro, but it does happen on standard. Might save someone who didn't save up enough knifes vs Krauser
I just finished on hardcore and it works on that difficulty
Hey, since playing the remake I've been watching a lot of your old content, especially the Dante rivalry, keep it up.
24:30 if you pull the spike ball lever and immediately jump onto the lift the red ganado dude will die as he spawns in
Something maybe a little overlooked about Leon's insane power level here -- A ton of Leon's feats happen after having his knife slide through his hand, my man's thumb is probably hanging on by a little skin flap and he's still smokin' plagas left and right. Leon's a g
I just completed this challenge on Hardcore. I did use the Sentinel Nine and the skull shaker to save inventory space(plus very occasional bonus weapons when I had absolutely no ammo). It was still pretty challenging considering I had to use boot knives up until the Krauser boss fight, then save the primal knife for the final boss.
pro tip for Salazar just toss a golden egg at him.
I am glad to see I'm not the only one who went full anime (villain + japanese dub) for subsequent runs.
"NO SHOWERS, NO GRASS, NO GIRLFRIENDS!" Thank goodness I work from home and have a fiancée. No grass and no girlfriend time for gaming. 😂 I love these videos.
You can kill Salazar with two golden eggs and skip his fight
He obviously knows.
Can’t wait for the “how lucky is the Resident Evil 4 Remake speedrun” so we can watch Waifu explain how lucky the rng handgun ammo from that one barrel was
You can save a ton of ammo on the Salazar fight, throw a golden egg at him and he's almost dead
A good strat to kill the 1st red zealot on elevator section is to pull the lever that summons the spiked ball and then quickly go down and start the elevator. The ball will kill the zealot before he even reaches his spot lmao
Leaving a like and saving to my watch later, but dipping out til i get the chance to play.
Preemptive thanks and gg for the run!
I did much the same, held off on watching much RE 4 remake content until I beat the game.
I like the end you are eating goldfish
If you are fast enough, right before activating the lift in the bell tower, pull the lever to drop a spiked ball then jump down and pull the elevator lever. The ball will squash the zelot
Mods that remove the bloom and the zoom out reticle makes this game SO enjoyable. Like it's clear as day with and without the mod.
You gotta wait while standing still for the reticle to come together fully. Then you get that pinpoint accuracy. It's easy to snipe stuff with the Red9 that way, just needs patience.
COTD: if they do remake resident evil 5, what do you hope they will keep, and what changes do you think that need to be made?
That section after cabin can be bypassed quite easily, discovered it last night, snipe the two crossbow on the ledges, then knife the other two, but I guess without the merchant this might not be possible 😅
i saw a video of a dude killing salazar by throwing 2 golden eggs at him, not sure if its real tho
Yes theres an challange gives you achievment for doing it its called the silent stranger theres also one for completing the game with pistol and knife only and one for not using any recovery items for the whole game
13:00 its a trade off for red nine's damage. Other pistols you can just equip laser
How to beat plantera from Terraria you got to spin around a circle and use weapons like the death sickle the razorblade typhoon the chlorophyte shot bow the mega shark the uzi the Superstar shooter the bubble gun the tsunami the Daedalus stormbow those weapons delete plantera and destroy her tendrils
I known you already know this probably but you can shoot the bell in the village to skip the whole sequence
Only on NG+
@Redwolf Grenier it can probably be hit on new game, but only snipers can strike it. But I feel that being a gimmick will be abused in due time
@@izanagiforsmite4365 We have no-clip tools already and it was tested in NG by going up to the bell and shooting it. You may be right that its rifle and RPG only but then theres not much of a point since they are inaccessible.
@@HandsomeBunBun neat, not even the mp5 or the assault rifle with scopes on can hit it?
@@izanagiforsmite4365 No clue, I haven't seen anyone show interest in delving deeper since people are looking for currently practical things. NG+ runners may have tested it though, wont claim no one has.
I hated the grabbing enemies until i realized you can just duck under their grab.
I gave up on the Red9 because of this 'bloom' thing. The handguns with laser sight are king, but even without sight I think any handgun's crosshair closes faster than the Red9's.
you can end the village early by shooting the bell in the distance outside the map
its an EE that is really convenient
Can you do it on New Game though? ;)
Doesn’t work in new game tho. You need a long range weapon to trigger it
11:00 This section you called the hardest I stealthed through, if you just stab and snipe everyone it basically goes through without a hitch. But... you don't have the rifle :P
I absolutely love ALL of your videos. I just now realized I wasn't subscribed and I got so mad at myself. Seriously one of my favorite channels right now. I'm sorry it took me so long to sub.
Use the Gold Egg on Salazar. Regardless of difficulty it does 70% damage
I thought you could parry the grabs tough. Saw it happen a couple of tiems when i watched a playthrough. Leon absically slashes their arm off this way.
These were melee attacks like punches
16:38 this made me laugh out loud harder than it should have, and truer words have never been spoken.
You're one of my favorite content creators man. Never change.
Do you think there will be a RE4 REMAKE randomizer in the future?
For now, it feels like a platinum trophy due to S+ requirement is for me something impossible.
This was my first question when I started playing this game
for someone that uses machine girl music in every video there is suprisingly a lack of neon white speed run videos
Just So you know as this will be Pretty useful for speed runs you can just skip the whole Village survival section By just shooting the Bell tower in the distance your self. You can do it with a pistol too. so no wasting ammor or waiting for a timer.
Only works on NG+, I'm pretty sure.
You actually can't do it with a pistol. Only sniper rifles and rocket launcher
ive actually seen people crouch the grab, its just you have to have a good time to get down cause they can get you mid duck. im guessing they might be able to get you on a hill too, since they can cause you to flub melee. its actually working on collision boxes not just a script.
you can duck the grabs, surprised you didn't know this
nice run
DUDE, I had the exact same complaints about grabbers on my first playthrough
except mine was more about how inconsistent parrying was.
I found that sometimes, you CAN parry grabber enemies, and it even cuts off their arm so they can't grab anymore, but it's super inconsistent how the game decides when it wants to let the parry actually work. Even perfect parrys don't always do it.
My god waifu, your joke game is on point, especially in this one
Do you know abou the villag skip
You can shoot the chirch Bell to skip the vilkag section
Oh yeah you can do that!
thats only on ng+
I love re4 remake, but my only gripe is the way the game handles enemies. The game does this wave thing with enemies and it can get really annoying sometimes. Had a lot of ammo? Well get ready for 3 waves of enemies that spawn out of nowhere and now u have 20 spare handgun bullets for the next section of the game. As much as I'm complaining though I absolutely adore this game and it's one of my favorite RE games ever so I would still recommend it 👌
I just thought you would all enjoy knowing if you shoot the church bell during the village fight it ends as soon as it starts :)
Only works on new game plus tho with a scoped weapon
I mean if you do it with infinite handcanon you can do it
Well to answer your question. Yes you can. I did 3 trophies in one run in ng+. Minimalist, frugalist, and silent stranger. Was pretty easy to do honestly with infinite ammo and Ashly knight armor.
FINALLY waifu blessing us with re4 remake content I'm so hyyyyyype
Fun fact you can use a golden egg to hit Salazar then just unload on him with your strongest gun to kill him quickly
Did you not get the LE5? It’s in the room with the Wrench Regenerator
Probably because inventory space
@PeakWheat tbh I don't think he even knew about it or the auto sniper, else he would've mentioned it at the start when talking about weapons you don't need to buy, and consideringtheres mechanics he doesnt even know about like lettibg leon aim for a second makes the crosshair smaller abd eliminate the bloom he complained so much about. But you're right he wouldn't have been able to pick it up anyway unless he thought it was a worthy trade with the shotgun or red 9
I did this run too! It was challenging and interesting and fun!
I didn't know about the Golden Egg so Ramon was a nightmare
Me reading the title: UUUUUUUUUUUMMM...
Me Reading the description: oh ok, was about to say
The issue is that bloom is trash and dumb to smoke, but devs keep filling our bongs with it.
you can just stand still for a second and your crosshair shrinks and accuracy is no longer a problem
Still has bloom
L plus ratio 😂
You can shoot the church bell in the distance and it instantly ends the village encounter.
Only have a switch so when I finally get my laptop in a few months it'll time to try it loved the og, was the best re game
There is a way to weave the grabbers. You can walk a little to the side, then sprint the other way, and they will most likely miss. Shoot them in the back of the knee and german suplex to victory
It's also nice to keep the first pistol for shooting barrels and having spare ammo in a gun to quickly switch to
the normal gennados with no weapons are like the torch hollows from Dark Souls
you might already be aware but you can end the village sequence early if you manage to shoot the church bell from the 2 floor roof in in the shotgun building, easier on ng+ but still doable I think esp with practice
You need a rifle for that
That's mad attention to detail
Actually this is strictly a NG+ feature. The bell won't ring early in a new game run
It won't ring on an brand new NG
lmao the sped up death grips track was killing me
While in the maze wish Ashley, if you manage to blow open the gates to a dog cage, she'll yell about how you let them out.
It’s easier that way :P
