Waifu vs Dante Ravioli Re 4 remake speedrun without opening the inventory.
You can instantly kill that first red zealot on the elevator section by interacting with the spiked ball lever and then immediately starting the elevator. He hugs the ball on his way up the stairs after spawning and goes splat.
You probably know this but if you give Ashley sunglasses as a accessory she won't be blinded by flashes.

The Garrador Knife prompt seems to be tied to whether he's aggrod or not. As long as he's still wildly swinging around himself it won't pop up but as soon as he lowers his guard its available again.
what was your positioning when going for a knife he woulda just swing at me no matter which way i snuck up 😭
@@ceaseinthebuilding I just crouched up from behind whenever he was in idle mode. In the first room you gotta be careful to not touch the chains hanging from the ceiling as they will alert him too.
19:00. Here's a tip for the first Red Zealot ! If you pull the lever for the giant spike ball and immediately run to the elevator lever the Zealot will load in before the spike ball passes him and he will get crushed ! I hope this helps !!

Tried that several times, but I dunno if console loads too slowly or something but it doesn't work for me.

@@Metaknight180 Yeah you have to position yourself so when you pull the spike ball lever you immediately jump off the ledge and rush to the elevator lever ! It's a pretty quick sequence
@@JMartini810 I managed to do it today when I was rushing through on my NG+, but it didn't work at all before when I'd been reloading an autosave right before taking the lift. I think that might have had something to do with it.

I would also want a Devil May Cry 2 remake. It had some really good gameplay ideas, and some ideas for where the overarching story could go in now that the sons of sparta story is over. It just has a LOT of terrible design choices that need to be ironed out first.

Ye it’s unbearable because you need the rifle to even have a chance to hit it anyway and from my research at least it only works with the rifle
Seems current day can do it with a handgun, but inconsistently.

For those who don't know;
Ranged Ganado will shout "Ahi va-eso!" at you when they throw their weapon. It's Spanish for 'Here it comes!' or 'There it goes!' depending on the context. It's basically them shouting 'Catch this!' at Leon every time they throw something.

I imagine you know already, but in case you don't, you can also flashbang the Garradors after you make their parasite come out. It's a small window, but it's doable. I doubt it would work well in challenge like this though.

Love how half the comments are tips for Waifu, that he either does in this video or has done in the other RE4R video.
One of the first things I tried with the infinite ammo launcher was to blow open the door at the start of castle. If you can’t do it with the launcher, I have no faith that you can do it with grenades.
You can blow open the hole in the wrecking ball section with grenades but not with rockets so

you can actually get another gold egg from the throne room to use to use on Salazar so you don't have to hold on to the Bawk island one.
The chicken island gold egg is easier to get and you don't have to deal with a room full of enemies to get it
If you use them both, I think it's an instakill as well.
You probably read this somewhere later but with the Verdugo boss you can clip through the elevator door with the sniper. Verdugo then can not attack you weirdly enough. It’s pretty funny just watching his feet run at you😂
I think I know where the inconsistencies come from fighting Garadors: when the Garadors are at high hp they become vulnerable after that 4 swing sequence, but once they are wounded they start adding turnaround swing to do after that sequence and there won't be a prompt in between. When they're really heavily wounded I think they can do at least 2 turnarounds in a row before they become vulnerable again. Basically they're vulnerable when they're walking around slowly or standing in place moving their head around back and forth from side to side.
Why didn't you knife the bell to skip the village segment?

You can actually kill the first red zealot in the clock tower with the spiked ball trap by triggering it and then running to the elevator immediately. It's actually hilarious when it happens.

Really cool video! It's always great to see people do challenges like that. I've recently finished a No Damage with Knife/Pistol only run at it was very fun to do. Although that "no damage" part was pretty hard in some of the sections, especially annoying arm-grab move in the very last Krauser fight (for which I found no reliable way of dodging other than just running away from him, which is very problematic when fighting him with a knife).

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't add Throwing knives into this game.
Then again, Capcom would probably create a new trophy for beating the game with knife only so screw that.
That’s why there isn’t one if they added a achievement for knife only they have to make the entire game around the knife or make it so guns can be used for puzzles and certain sections but not on enemies in summary a knife only achievement will leads to development hell
For the water hall section you can equip Ashley with the sun glasses to negate the flashbangs effect

15:29 I think it has to do with what animation the garradors are doing, like when they're low health I'm pretty sure they act more "suspicious" of you, and it makes it nearly impossible to special knife their backs
Hey, Waifu, there are already a few character replacement mods out there. You think about doing some "Can you beat RE4 Remake as X?" challenges like you did for the OG? I've tried a "The Fourth Survivor" run where I get to play as Hunk and only use knife, MUP, LE5 and the W-870. It was pretty fun!

On the lift section I discovered that you can kill the Red Zealot instantly if you pull the lever that drops the big iron ball down the stairs and hurry to the lift as fast as you can.

You don't need to save the egg on the island, you can sell it to complete the request, there's another in the throne room, the same one you get thrown into the pit in during the cutscene where they're trying to waterboard ashley.
"Can you shoot a grenade"
Yes, they're called grenade cartridges and you shoot them out of grenade launchers. That being said, RE4 (both versions of them) is one of the oddball RE games to not have a grenade launcher. I guess the Mine-Thrower and Bolt Thrower kind of fill those roles.
Damn you beat me to this challenge, so far i managed to get all the way to water hall while only using the pistol for gong sections, no speedrun skips and on standard (and i passed waterhall only using 2 grenades and a few flashbangs) i do have a decent amount of it included excluding the start of the game so if you wanna check it out i can give you some of the clips :) (ps climbing ladders is how you avoid explosives in mendez)
Important distinction here.
You can shoot a grenade. It just has to come from a grenade launcher. if you are using the grenade the old fashioned way, they are fine.
just for people to note for future grenade runs so that they don't go running for the nearest grenade launcher in their favorite game
then why isnt it called a grenade shooter

so for the gold egg on Salazar, there is one in his thrown room. the thing in there that takes the cube and you get one. so you can kill him with the two eggs or use that one and sell the other to get the bounty for it

The fact that someone with 2000 hours in this game still gets hit with the bear traps makes me feel better about getting hit by every single one of them
few things i noticed. the tripmine you showed in the clip you can crouch under. but you have to tank the rest sadly. body armor helps tho.
regenerators you can just stab repeatedly. stab towards the tummy from its right side (or your left) and you should be able to hit 2 of the plagas at the same time. once they break loop behind its back and steb the upper side of its back for the last plaga. its really consistent and quick. if youre behind it it will likely try to swipe you with an armswing wich you can easily parry.
the blind guys have QTE behind their back wich does a lot of damage, but the damage to durability ratio is less than stabbing them normally. on NG standard i have to conserve durability because it would take 5 QTE stabs. you can also sneak in a quick stab after the QTE before the second slash (careful about their left claw, it will swipe a bit towards the back, hitting you if you keep stabbing).
the explosive barrel in the mendez fight you can kinda dodge by climbing up the ladder, but it has to be timed properly. if youre too late they will hit you while yorue on the ladder, if youre too early he will throw them at the top at the ladder (might get blocked by the beams running acros the ceiling walls). when he goes in for a melee you can kinda get him into an infinite loop if you stand at the right spot on his side. but i never get it.
sally bossfight is imo a huge pain (i dont use grenades) but its actually possible to keep looping the knife QTE. tho ive never gone beyond 3 loops. about 7 are required to kill him. im not sure wat exactly triggers the knife QTE over and over again, i usually just try to keep stabbing at his weakpoint as he moves. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt lol.
i would love to see revalations 1 remade as a full on survival horror, no waves of waves of hunters or brightly lit rooms lol

I’m not great at it either but you can avoid being grabbed by enemies if you crouch. I believe it works with broken neck enemies as well.
The only time I went "knife-only" is during the entire Krauser fight, and I hoarded 4 kitchen knives and had 4 boot knives (+1 in phase 3 fight) and I barely survived with a terrible condition combat knife, that's about it
ive already routed "knife only" the speedrun on NG standard. im excited to see the solutions or ways dis video has to handle certain things. hope i can learn some good stuff, cos the run is quite difficult/inconsistent. but i assume dis video will include grenades and such. lets find out c:

I feel like with how many systems they made for village that wound up being in the 4 remake, it’s inevitable that they will do the same thing for 5.
Hell, they already made a decently good partner ai with Louis and Ashley in this game. All they need to do is combine them and add more modes to make Sheva better than the original.
wouldnt be surprised if the next mainline game sets up systems for 5 remake, just like 7 did for 2 and 3 or Village with 4

3:33 bear traps do 0 damage. Even on professional. They do however damage your armor. Yknow the vest. That is on your chest. Not your ankle. Where you lose blood. Despite 0 damage.

I don't know if you know yet (I myself didn't because I don't use accessories) but you can prevent yourself and ashley from any stun effects from a flashbang if you have sunglasses on
Soon as I read beat it without shooting any guns. The first area I thought of was the castle where you have to put Ashley on the top balcony or platform to have her raise the two bridge pieces. Then I thought about throwing Grenades. Never thought of doing that on a no gun run.
U can use the rifle glitch to not fight the new u3 to. If you go to the elevator and use the rifle to put ur back into the elevator while you wait for it he won’t hit you.
6:05, if you put sunglasses on Ashley she won't get blinded by your flash grenades. I wonder if this will be speedrun legal or not

Loving this game so far. I broke my knife before the first village and didnt find another until ch2 bcuz i didnt know about the windows showing the lock in the barn.
there is also another golden egg in the throne room behind a cube device box you can use so you can insta-kill salazar using both
I don't count the final rocket launcher myself, since the frugalist achievement in the game (only knifes and handguns) counts this as an exclusion, meaning it doesn't invalidate the run, you should check this achievement progression to see what counrs as an exclusion, I see this run valid enough
If Remake 4 was “it’s own game” it would have been an achievement… but thankfully the Waterroom end section exists, let there be “minimalist”!

W game this is the only game I got and beat less than 3 days later usually I would just uninstall it then beat it a year later but since it's such a good game I had to just sit down and play this masterpiece

I got a charm from the token machine that increased critical hits with knifes by 20% I think could be 40 don’t remember . I think it’ll help this run significantly

wish they could make knives throwable/retrievable like bolts to make knife runs possble. that and the option to use your knife during the mine cart section to parry arrows, chainsaws, and throw knives at rerouting signs

If they do remake RE5, they need to keep the boulder punching scene. It’s iconic, it’s needed just like Leon’s bingo line.
Have it be even more epic with different camera angles and slow motion.
If the 5 remake connects to the 2, 3, and 4 remakes, then for selfish reasons I hope it doesn't so I can have more proof that the RE Engine remakes aren't canon, and that originals still are since the boulder scene is referenced in RE8.

technically, if you use grenade or egg, maybe, but the Saddler at the end, you can't get too close to him to use knife, so you gonna need to use the rocket
