@@Crmjewelers Welp... Si, seriously, certainly they should stop grieving the few shekels more an hour the working poor might be getting for price increases across the board now?
@@tomasinacovell4293 I'm not really sure what you're asking. Who's "they" and what does the earnings of the working poor have to do with the hyperinflation of assets?
Amazing, love the content and prices explained. Bit of an off topic question. I’m considering a SBA loan for my jewelry inventory in the near future but I can easily afford all of my inventory with out debt. If I may ask you from your business experience in jewelry, take a loan or stay no debt and keep paying upfront for inventory?
That's a great question man, but it almost depends on a little fortune telling. At the end of the day, it'll depend on your success selling that inventory, the turnover (how fast you sell it), and your profit margin when you consider the price increase or decrease of the actual inventory. No one can tell you for sure what you should do, only you can. Dig deep, have faith, and do what you know you need to do.
Can you tell me about where I should be and obviously you not seeing the condition, a ref 16610 black bezel black dial 40mm oyster perp date in very good condition. Full set box/papers.
people that reference the tulip bubble, clearly don't understand economics and the difference between organic things produced in nature and things that are produced in limited quantity. While they aren't worth $40K you still are gonna pay on the secondary market probably $20-24k and for people that have the money, they will pay it.
Great question Terry. It's difficult to determine the BID/ASK spread due to the relatively lower liquidity of watches when compared to other commodities, but I'd say at least 10%.
@@Crmjewelers the low liquidity is also one of the reason the prices are so high, I reckon if I buy now @ 44000 usd, the market after can be easily 10% higher with one watch.....that really scares me!
Actually Terry, I don't the think the liquidity has anything to do with the price appreciation. These sky-rocket prices are a combination of collectability and ultra-loose monetary policies....but yeah, it is scary!
I don't understand what makes the price of the watch go up so fast? Anyone care explaining? In my mind I feel if demand went up all Rolex prices would go up instead of just one?
Now try to sell it and see what you are offered!...Gold is up 10% in a month and 1/2 and can sell it in any CIVILIZED city!...Excuse me gold now at $2000.50 per oz.heading to the former record of $2074.88!!!
We buy gold as well. This is not about gold versus watches. The people that had the money to buy these watches pre pandemic have even more money now. These watches have become coveted asset classes. Don't miss the forest for the trees.
I thought the exact same thing three months ago. But it sadly has taken a scary dip since then. The likes of which we have not seen since the watch first came out in 2016. And I say “sadly” because I bought one when the pandemic hit and the price dipped from $28k to $22k and I figured it was now or never if I was ever going to buy one because it was never going to come to me via retail And I knew I could always get my money back plus more. At one point the panda was 123% more than I paid for it. Now it’s dipped down to 95%. This watch has done nothing but go up until it started to drop about three months ago. I can only assume it’s because of the inflation in the United States. People can hardly afford groceries and gas and I think the market share of people that are willing to spend the inflated prices on a steel Daytona have greatly been reduced.
