I have a blue one... it's my first car that I bought myself. I love the design. I think it's pretty sleek. But what do I know? I don't have money to afford a fancy sport car like some people. I think this is just fine for me as of right now, a 20-year-old college student.
Yesit'sJess I'm a 19 year old college student and this is the first car I bought myself too lol. Mines gray. It's a nice car for kids our age. It's a better than most adults have that's for sure.
Also my first car, a blue one. I’m 17 and I really think this car is perfect for a first car and a beginner driver. The car is pretty simple without complicated features and easy to get used to lol
I did about the same thing by purchasing a used 2014 Elantra back in 2015. It was also the first car that I am purshaing on my own and currently has almost 300,000 miles on it and still runs and it's parked outside. It does need some new parts but it still runs. If someone is looking for a car that they can enjoy, has a high fuel efficiency, is reliable and good for driving in the city or on long trips this might be the way to go. Some of the downsides of the vehicle are the price of parts with it being foreign and the parts being difficult to come by, and in my experience the braking system on the vehicle does not work as well as it should. Also the transmission in my vehicle is non serviceable. So basically if a mechanic manages to find the opening for the transmission there is no marker on the interior that indicates where to stop adding fluid and there is no dipstick. So basically every 50 or so Thousand Miles you would need to take it to the dealership to have it serviced otherwise you'll probably have to end up leaving Transmission fluid in the vehicle for the life of the vehicle. They managed to add some fluid and also some Lucas non-slip at a shop I use regularly but it was not an ideal situatnation. I use the vehicle for Uber for about two years and it safely transported quite a few people. It's not a perfect car or sports car but it is very reliable and cost-efficient. The Hyundai brand as far as their cars go is reliable just know that the dealerships can be shady and and should not be completely trusted. If you purchase a Hyundai I recommend finding a solid shop where you can go to get your work done as opposed to trying to deal with the dealership. I had one dealership suggest that I let one vehicle get repossessed after purchasing a new vehicle. And I cannot respect someone sharing that kind of council while I'm trying to purchase a vehicle from them.
Why do you always care what the key looks like? Who cares?? All the key needs to do is start and stop engine and unlock and lock that's it! The key has nothing to do with quality of the car or how it drives or how it looks!
I just got this car a few days ago. I've never had a back up camera before but it wasn't very clear at all. I kept thinking... this should be clearer than this. This morning I found the little camera lens and found that the dealer hadn't taken off the blue plastic protective cover from it. Ripped it off and got a much better view of what I am about to back over!
+Gary Cole How do you like it overall? My son is down at a dealer right now, was going for the Veloster but now looking at this one the Elantra as its has all the bells and whistles for $10,000 almost cheaper..:)
+Varietize I've owned many, many cars over my lifetime but this Elantra is my favorite. I was on vacation and rented one and that's how I got introduced to it. After rebates, I only paid $16,500 for a 2016 model that has all the "fancy" stuff on it: bluetooth, fancy alloy wheels, cruise control, etc. Car drives like a dream. I highly recommend this car!
Thank-you that's awesome! He did get this car a 2016 model GLS I think it was...He picks it up this Wednesday in titanium grey, he made a smart decision for his first car. He was after the Veloster when he went there but so glad they showed him this. Yeah it comes with alot of fancy stuff as you said and more speed too. Thanks very much for all that great information, going to pass that on to my son too to implement he made a sound decision!:)
+Gary Cole My mother & stepdad doesn't want me to get an Audi tt... I tried to sell her "my dream" wasn't happening!! she went on and on about how expensive it was, and also the parts if anything was to happen to it, but I liked the shape of the small car. Would you recommend this car to a female first time driver?? I need another opinion
I just bought a 2016 and I love it only complaint is the touch screen in kinda far from the seats you really have to reach out to use it. The gas millage is amazing! I really love my car.
I owned a 2016 elantra. It is a decent car that takes you from A to B everyday with 0 issue and great fuel economy. Me and my wife have many memories with that car...good and bad...a lot. I replaced the elantra last week because she does not fit my needs anymore. I am exited with my new car, but selling the elantra broke my heart.
I like this car. However, it does have a few things that bother me. I agree. the keyfob isn't exactly pretty, nor does it look up to date. But more importantly with the car, I really don't like the acceleration at times. often times it feels a bit delayed when you step on the acvelerator. the pedal just has a very loose feeling to it. additionally, I think they should have made backup cameras a feature on all models to keep up with increasing competition amongst its competitors.
you can get this car for 3-5k less than all other equally equipted competitors.......that's free gas for about 3+ years.....now that's what I call...." A FUN CAR TO DRIVE!"
I have a beef with your review on this car. On the 2015 review you loved it, had nothing but good things to say. However on the 16, "it's long in the tooth, looks old...etc". Nothing has changed in a year lol. The 17s are a complete redesign if that makes you happy
seriously. his first complaint is the "key fob". His first compliments are 16" wheels (typical) and the white paint job, what car doesnt come with a white paint job. god.
6 months later. Still really enjoy my 2016. You say the fuel economy is "okay" but have you driven them or do you just read stat sheets and go to dealers? I'm pulling 38 mpg tanks with semi aggressive driving and a 60/40 mix of highway and city. You can't really get better than that.
@@MrCool-qi7cy Glad I wasn't the only one confused by the key fob comment. "Hey man pass me my keys?" "Sure dude, what's with your car key though it's old af hahaha" that is not a conversation that happens.
I have a 2016 Elantra and the dealership can not find the problem after 5 years of the same problem. Something is draining the battery, and in the winter my car won't start half the time. We have tested different things, like automatic starter and anti-rust module. I have even replaced a perfectly fine battery. Hundai dealer says they cannot find a problem. As soon as I don't use my car for 2 days it kills the battery. Every time I leave my car for a week when I travel for March break once a year, I come back and car won't start. Very frustrating. Help!
I have driven this car and I'd have to say some things aren't lining up with this model. The acceleration is great on this car for the 4 cylinder. The interior however even if it is all grey it's very comfortable. Lots of space for a 4 cyl; only thing is I'd like to rather have the manual seat adjust. This is a great design and like the 2015 not much has changed with this design. It's a great car overall!
It's terrible, the steering is WAY too tight, a quarter inch movement of the wheel jerks the car to the side. The seats are also quite awful, and the manual seat adjustments are garbage. The recline handle always sticks and rubs against the outer plastic liner of the seat. The car is uncomfortable and quite small actually.
+AKushiteHeru well when you have thousands and thousands of debt and medical bills you'd understand. I have a step dad making top $ in Military after 24 years in, and my mom works with millions in billing and insurance at a hospital. We still are barely making it. 2 weeks ago my sister tried to kill herself the night before my birthday. We don't need an overpriced poor performance piece of shit that has EXTRA bull shit included.
+AKushiteHeru I have driven it myself and for the things I have driven, it's very poor. My sisters 2004 Escape V6 drives better. My dads 2013 7,000 LB 2500HD Duramax drives better. Yes my dad has a fully loaded $65,000 truck. So yes we do have high luxury things. A Corvette, Camaro. Even my dads 1995 1500 Z71 drives better than the fucking Elantra.
I found that model car to light in the wind. it was a nice car ( I had a 2013) but you could hear the wind from outside. I just traded my 2013 in for a 2017
+KATEPALSALLY I have a 2015 Elantra and my one gripe with this otherwise fantastic car is the road noise. How is the noise level inside the new 2017 model Elantras? Good day.
Found a used 2016 Elantra (base model) for $5,300 USD. It has 100,040 miles on it and it’s in near perfect condition. Do you think it’s worth the price? I want a second opinion to see if this is a good deal.
For a first car ..which one is a better option to buy for a family in every aspect .. Elantra SE or Cruze Lt .. Models other than these are welcome also ..budget around 20k to 22k.. Suggest .. :)
+kabir I had a 2014 Cruze Lt and in less than 8 months I got rid of it. It only had 4000 miles on it and it had SOOOO many problems that the dealership flat out refused to bother fixing it. Imagine that! I had no other choice than to get rid of it, at a significant loss and got an Elantra Se instead. The Elantra is better than the Cruze in every single way. Gas mileage, space, acceleration and best of all, no issues! + It has a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty and I believe a 10 year/100 000 mile warranty on the engine parts. Can't beat that.
+LostintheVoid11 I concur. I just bought the Elantra brand new, and I did look at the Cruze but GM has had so many recalls that I didnt feel like putting my life on the line lol The Elantra wasnt my favourite but WOW Im loving it more and more everyday I own it. :)

I only care when they have the stupid switchblade key, those break so easily.

i think this goes for all hyundai's now because i drove an older hyundai sedan, not sure if it was the elantra, but the accelerator felt delayed too
Got this car added backup camera, bigger Bluetooth radio screen, and rain guards now it’s like a mini sports car lol
Got a red one today not worried about technology long as it get the job done e getting where I need to go and travel little bit.👌

Cameron Actually The Hyundai Elantra Coupe Was Axed So You Can't That You'll Go With The Elantra Coupe Because Hyundai Discontinued It After 2014
