I bought the 2007 bike three years ago. Great bike. Had some issues about a month after purchase. Replaced the spark plugs and that took care of it. Happy and safe driving to you my friend.
I have the 2012 XVS13cCT and I just love it. I bought it used with 4400 miles on it. I had to have tires put on a new battery and a service just to make sure all the fluids looked good.(the bike was sitting in a shed for a few years) I have ridden this bike for 3 years now with no issues. Just oil changes and reg. maint.
Where are you going to get it serviced???? I bought a 2011 Kawasaki vulcan 900 LT and cannot find a dealer who services or repairs any bike older than 10 years.
You can do almost all basic maintenance yourself oil fluid change I even change my own tires. Not much else there to service Owning a bike is an expensive endeavor learn to minimize cost of ownership

Bought a 2012 1300 new. Still riding it today.
I had the same bike, same colour, a 2008. Sold it and bought a Goldwing. Sold the Goldwing and bought another V Star 1300, a 2014 Deluxe.
Beautiful bike.
I had an ultimate seat on my Roadstar they are amazing and ironically I am looking at the same bike as you have.

I use a local bike shop that works on any bikes. I called a few dealers and there were all a big joke. Find a small local biker shop they are around.
