I tell you what it is like when you watch that final boxing match scene in the theater, it turned the whole theater into the stadium and everyone was participating in the match, yelling and screaming, cheering for Rocky(feel sorry to Apollo😅) and during the final countdown, some the audiences even stood up from their seat to wait for the result. Until the bell rang, everyone in the theater stood up and jumped for the victory….Thank you for bringing us back our childhood memories, looking forward to see your reaction on Rocky3 !!!!!
For as many annoyances as watching movies in a theater can bring, the experience of sharing something special with an entire audience is something that's very much lost when watching at home.
YO ADRIAN, I DID IT!
We did it
@jameskobegonzalez5228 I always thought that's what the line should have been.
Without giving away spoilers for new those new to the series, "Yo Adrian, we did it," is, however, the final line to a future Rocky sequel.
I cry every time!
@@robinjohnson8330me too!
No, you didn't.
My dad took me to see this at the theater when I was 8 years old I was SO elated when Rocky won. Now, being an adult and understanding the relationships aspect of the movie, I cry every time.
Heck yeaa .
I remember the whole audience cheering for Rocky at the movie and I remember the elation I felt leaving the theater
An amazing continuation of the first Rocky and it really gives a satisfying end to Rocky 1's story.
Adrian telling Rocky to Win is one of the best love moments between them both.
He doesn’t get nearly enough credit, but Tony Burton (he played Duke, Apollo’s trainer) gives an incredible performance in this movie. Between the “Let it go…you’re the champ,” speech to begging and pleading with Apollo to stay away from Rocky in the 15th (knowing full well that Apollo couldn’t do it), he’s just tremendous. Surrounded by more established actors in this film/series, and he owns the screen when he’s on it.
He also brings it in Rocky 4, his monologue gave me chills.
@@nluna75 There’s a scene in Rocky IV where he plays chess against (and beats) one of the KGB agents assigned to watch over Rocky while in Russia - I read that Burton was a skilled player in real life, and actually used to play against Stanley Kubrick while on set of The Shining (he had a bit part in the movie). There’s some “disagreement” over how those games went (Tony Burton said he won a couple of times, Kubrick said no but acknowledged that he was a tough opponent), but still thought that was a cool story.
100000% what’s amazing is the further you get in the series and the older you get as a person you deeply understand how much he loves and cares for Apollo! How heartbreaking it must have been for duke to not be able to protect Apollo from his own pride
on the night this premiered in our twin theaters, the management played loud music in the lobby because the audience for every showing was cheering so loud, it would give away the result to the next audience. people lost their minds. good memories
I was crying and cheering the entire time and I've seen this movie 50 times lol. Pleeeeease hurry and react to part 3 asap you guys Rock(y) 😉
Bill conti been the stalwart of this whole Saga.
When Adrian asks for a win Apollo didn’t stand a chance
The reason you noted the sound mix with the footage of the first movie is because "Rocky II" is the first one in stereo. The original movie was in mono, so the footage from that film had to be remixed for stereo.
I saw this when I was 9 years old and it made me stand up to my bullies. Basically changed my life
She did a scary good impression of Micky with the side-mouth! You should go around the house talking like that all day 🥊
I'm actually sick right now so everything I say sounds like Mickey - Vanessa 🤣
@@LatetothePartyWhat's sick, they're ain't no sick! To beat this sickness, first you gotta catch this chicken, because chicken chasing is how we beat sickness in the old days. GO GET EM 🐓
Rocky II did what many thought was impossible in being a hit movie and a damn good follow up/sequel to the first film because it had plenty of stories and situations for Rocky and Adrian to live with and endure throughout the movie that it resonated quite beautifully with the audiences who saw it in theaters back in 1979 which is one of many reasons why so many fans consider Rocky II as one of the best sequels of all time next to the likes of Aliens, Terminator 2 Judgment Day, Godfather Part II, and Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. This movie became the third highest grossing film in North America only under Superman and The Amityville Horror earning just over $85 million dollars but also became the winner and new champion of the domestic box office as far as I’m concerned. One of my all time favorite moments of the franchise is when Adrian tells Rocky that she wants him to win. Yo Adrian he did it!
Every time I have seen these films and I have watched them many many times: I always think “God damn could Carl weathers cut a great heel promo”
Rocky I & II feel like one long movie, the way this one picks up right after the first and really continues the same story
I can’t wait until you get to Rocky III and IV!
Rocky Balboa has shocked the world!
YO! ROCKY 2 IS FIRE FR
I'm glad someone got the condominium joke. It goes over so many other people's heads.
Rocky Balboa is the greatest movie character of all time.
33:08 The baby was Stallone's real-life son Seargeoh Stallone.
Happy New Year guys!!!
Happy New Year to you as well!
People were able to plot out Rocky's run in this movie on MapQuest based on where the house was, the landmarks that he ran past and ending at the art museum. If Rocky had run that path, he would've had to have run over 30 miles. The crazy thing is that fans of the movie actually did run that path in a fan event fun run.
That's pretty ridiculous considering that 30 miles is a longer distance than a professional marathon.
The press scene at least plays to me not like Apollo thinks Rocky is Trolling him. but more like Apollo trying to hate rocky and also feed the rivalry and being annoyed that he cant hate rocky, rocky is just too nice. Which is why he instantly latches onto insulting rockies friend.
After two hous of hell when he says 'yo adrian i did it!' To end the movie is one of the greatest ending movie lines of all time
Show em who you are tonight, show who your are tonight, stick emmnn!!!!
I think the wildest thing to me is knowing that Burgress Meredith played the Penguin from batman 66. If only that character had Rocky to fight Batman lol!!!
The ambulance taking the scenic route is an obvious way to capture more of the city but its just cracks me up. Almost as funny as the paths Rocks takes on his runs. Hed be running like 30 miles lol
So, what's the problem and what's so funny about running 30 miles training for a boxing match?
@@eatsmylifeYT do you think boxers run double marathons?
@@russellward4624 Yeah, if they wanted to, they could. Why not?
The last three minutes of this movie are the absolute best in all cinema.
RIP Carl Weathers. He'll be missed. Great reaction guys!
😢
If you really love the character of Rocky, I recommend you watch all the films (Rocky 3, 4, 5, Balboa (6) and Creed 1 & 2). You'll follow the ups and downs of Rocky's life. The quality isn't always equal, but they're all worth watching.
More than a manager, Mickey was a father.
Watched the original Rocky in the theater at 10 years old and rocky 2 at 13 years old in the theater literally life changing films so many great life lessons in these films
It took me half the video before I noticed Zed and Sweetchuck! haha
Great reaction you two! And Happy New Year!!! 🥳🍾🎊🎉
This is one is ranked high on my favorite "Rocky/Creed" list. Maybe at 2 or 3.
Again we get more of Rocky and Adrian's love story along with the epic re-match between Rocky and Apollo at the end.
29:14 - 32:41 I always have to have tissues on hand for these scenes with Adrian in the hospital.
33:12 Fun Fact: The baby who plays Rocky Jr. in this movie was Sylvester Stallone's second son, Seargeoh Stallone.
My favorite moment, besides the training montage and the boxing match at the end, has always been when Adrian smiles at Rocky and tells him to "win". And of course, Rocky's "Yo Adrian! I did it!" Love it!!!
De looking forward to you two getting to "Rocky 3".
Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
I hope y’all do the whole franchise.
The greatest fight in history, period!!
Hope you two are having an great and awesome day ❤
If Adrian tells you to win, you get up from your seat, run outside the theatre and win something!
Happy New Year, Vanessa and Robert!!!!🎉
The whole franchise is good! Some better than others but all good! Good reaction!
@10:14 you're right, Stallone is about 5'7" or 5'8"
Happy New Year, #LTTP FAMILY
Preying for blessings and great health and wealth to tha both of yous.🎉🍾🥳🎊✨️
Very late comment.
After the first installment, winning all kinds of awards and acclaim, Sly Stallone became a star.
Just as he felt poised to prove even more of his career, there was also more to prove for the character of Rocky.
The first of 4 sequels that Sly would write and direct.
To be lead actor and filmmaker is what he described as 'The Sleepless Job' and it takes a lot to commit to everything.
Bigger budget, bigger stakes and bigger challenges.
The supporting cast delivers on so much more with theiŕ characters.
Pushing the narrative of going the distance and motivation to get a second chance to prove your worth.
Just like before, Stallone penned the fight between Rocky & Apollo aka Superfight II (credited as boxing choreographer) and putting this battle on paper with as much substance as the script is genius.
Sure it was the end of the 1970s, but ROCKY without a doubt was the cinematic icon you'd never forget.
Alongside The Godfather Part 2 (1974) as one of the best sequels of the era.
IRL, Stallone had 2 sons and the oldest, Sage passed away.
Both have been Rocky Jr. in the film series.
In ROCKY II; Rocky jr. as an baby was Sly's youngest/second son, Seargeoh after his birth and months before the film's release, the baby's scenes with Rocky & Adrian were the final scenes of filming.
UM CLÁSSICO INESQUECÍVEL❤
the chief from last action hero is actor frank Mcrae, RIP. stallone's old friend, he pops up in a bunch of stallone movies.
Make no mistake, Apollo would've definitively won in the eyes of every fan and judge that ever watched the fight had he coasted in the final round and boxed safely to a decision win, but that wasn't enough for him. He went for the KO and paid the price.
Oh man, I LOVE VANESSA!!!! No one reacts as well as her!!! Can't wait to see her reaction in Rocky III!! 😉
Another great reaction! Look forward to all the sequels this year! Rocky III broke so I look forward to Vanessa’s reaction 😢! You guys rock!
Stallone brought in some of his family members, his brother frank singing on the street corner, his son "sage" was Rocky Jr."
Apollo was passed his prime in Rocky 1 he was truly the goat💯
More than a sports movie, it’s a love story and Adrian (like in all Rocky movies) is at the very heart of it.
The statue is at the museum, it's just at the bottom of the steps now and his footprints are in bronze at the top.
The guy is also the chief in the movie "48 HRS" with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy
Great reaction guys!😃
Happy New Year Guys Robert and Vanessa as Late To The Party❤🎉
R.I.P. Carl Weathers. Damn.☹
What a ride!
Rocky one to 4 I grew up watching them all my favorites balboa and all the creeds are great
70s stank..lol. Love it. Gonna have to add the phrase to my repertoire.
I can't wait til u do Rocky 3 and 4
You knew people meant what they said when they actually made the effort to write a letter and spend money to send it.
Love you're shirt Police Academy 4
8:06 - Now, *that's* the eye of the tiger.
I noticed you said another Thanksgiving fight well the first fight happened on January 1st and the rematch was Thanksgiving now I cant wait for Rocky III I hope it happens soon.
So great!!
Another movie that should be on the list.....Popeye the sailor with Robin Williams and Burgess Meredith aka ..... Micky, Rocky's manager.
The car was there because Paulie was babysitting
Hi guys...let's go to the 3, 4, 5 and 6. And Creed Saga.... A hello from Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
What are we waiting fer!!!!
Rocky 3 next!!!!!!!!
It has won the latest poll, so yes. ROCKY III is on its way.
YO!! SAVE SOME OF THAT FOR THE SEQUELS!!! Check outsome AWESOME SF Classic greats too! The Thing, The Day the Earth Stood Still and When Worlds Collide all from (1951) The War of the Worlds (1953) THEM! (1954) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956).
That's Brisk. Baby!!!!!
One of the greatest endings in movie history.
When you watch Rocky 4 use the director's cut, in my opinion it's way better
Great Reaction! Looking forward to the sequels 3-6 followed by Creed 1-2. Definitely have tissues on standby
3 was my favorite for reasons we both know but I won't spoil it. What was your favorite?
@@adampare8088 I can’t choose, i just love Sylvester Stallone PERIOD!
22:36 Cuff & Link.
Wait, Robert saw Rocky 1, but never watched Rocky 2 'till this reaction, but he watched the rest?
Robert saw Rocky 4 and 5 in their entirety.
He barely remembers seeing Rocky 1, and doesn't remember seeing 2 or 3 at all.
Sports movies were never at the top of his viewing lists. Still aren't.
You can skip 5 and go straight to Rocky Balboa which is really good.
You brought up Karate Kid but you didn't mention Mickey's trainer is in Karate Kid.
Best Sequel Ever, Great Reaction Guy's & Happy New Year's Guy's
Is this sequel's month?
Yes
please watch warrrior with Tom hardy, amazing movie like rocky, very emotional
Hello I was wondering if you'd consider watching a series 1923
yo adrian i did it
Also the same director as Karate Kid
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
"You lie nice" ...I still think he was simply referring to her lying in bed. Just returning the complement.
Recomiendo movie leon peleador sin ley
Vanessa looks so beautiful in the white sweater, and her hair is always on point.
Rocky series up to No4 is amazing you got to watch the Rest ASAP
Hello, react to "Christine" (1983) by Stephen king & John Carpenter. Great movie much better than "misery". Thanks
You’ll love Rocky lll too!
Reaction channels shouldn't put previews at the beginning we're already watching a cut down version to see your reactions so why ruin a reaction before we get to it
Because the beginning of any video is the most clicked away moment by most viewers. Which causes a video to lose momentum once posted. If there's something interesting to see, you'll stay longer. Giving a taste of what's to come is an appetizer. There's a method to the madness.
@@LatetotheParty it's your channel you do you
@@CaddyJim As we always do.
G as F---
Rocky 3 and 4 are the game changers in the franchise.
If you really think about it the whole damn series is a love story more than boxing
Soooo, I have some constructive criticism. Someone (not Vanessa) is obviously uncomfortable being emotional on camera, and keeps cracking jokes and/or making comments that minimize the effectiveness of the dramatic parts. It's keeping Vanessa from getting fully emerced.
I actually shut it off right after the "Rocky's all about first bluuuud" joke before the final fight and skipped around before that. That comment was totally disconnected from the mood of the movie.
Another example: When Rocky was crying over Adrian, he drew attention to him being an actor and how the tears were fake. It was in the form of a compliment, but it felt emotionally disconnected.
If you watch it back, you'll see what I mean.
Just my two cents.
Appreciate the critique. When we watch movies it is OUR personalities watching the film. If you don't connect to one of our personalities, then that is YOUR personal preference. If you find yourself avoiding portions of our video out of annoyance then maybe our channel is not for you. We all enjoy movies differently.
If for some reason you want to watch Robert being emotional on camera, here you go. th-cam.com/video/ealnmOEexY8/w-d-xo.html
@@LatetotheParty Of course it's a Superhero movie. 😜
@@LatetotheParty I understand what you mean and I don't disagree, but the only point I'll make is that viewer engagement is ultimately the goal. Since you both know each other's personalities, an argument can be made for connecting the right movie with the right personality.
The reason this one struck me is it's an emotional movie that's very much not a "larger than life" superhero movie. It's about an aging, broken down "almost was", who somehow gets a shot to change his story. It's deep.
You (I assume this is Vanessa) are perfect for it. I don't dislike his personality at all. In fact, his Police Academy tee shirt is magnificent. In this particular movie, it feels like he's making fun of the heart of it. I know it's not his intent, but it's coming off like that.
