Maaan!!! JP and those D4S amps are trying to become king of bass. Im glad the hobby of big bass is being ressurected. When I was a teen in the 90s bass was everything. We all learned to be installers watching our homies do it one or 2 times. Video games and bass music was the topic daily.
Always remember what Big D said and he is 110% correct. " You need power to make Power" batteries, notice more than one. Wiring, proper gauge don't be cheap on the wiring no garbage off-brand crap. Alternator and more.
In the future it will be a moot point as bassheads will be powering amps directly off a 400V EV system. Imagine your entire amp rack being fed with a few 8 gauge wires! ;-)
D4S is literally blowing away the competition I’ve already purchased a 33 and is the best amp I ever had. Thanks for your research and testing it made my my decision easy to make 💪🏽D4S amps you rock👍🏽
Also notice the power at the time of clean power. Before this amp literally skips a beat. Quite a few times it didn't count up cleanly so I'd even raise an eyebrow on the supposedly efficiency ratings.

The quality that they are built in as well as the components used in their build are top notch. Why don't they have subwoofers. I think they would knock it outta the park if they did. Only gotta buyit 1tyme plus it does wat da otha jp amps does from 8 to.8 ohms ex: 2ohms = 6300watts, gotta buy 2of Dem to get with diz big boii thts ova 2grand.
I couldn't afford to power that beast. Still amazed at the build quality and freaking ginormous power for the price. If you want a beast amplifier and can handle the current draw this is the monster 4 u
I would have to remove the engine from the car & sell that, just to afford half of the power needed (and would also then have to push my car around.. not super convenient). It would free up some space for batteries though... just won't be able to keep them charged lol
@@beefysghost867 yeah I love them when I had it in my house it was sitting at 15.5v no charger on it and I hooked up my 3k rms full bridge amplifier and ran a 20 HZ tone wide open on one of my 15s and after 10 seconds it went from 15.5v to 15.3v but then bounced back to 15.5v in less then 2sec after the burp and I did I total of four consecutive 10-second burps each time in less than 2 seconds it was bouncing back and after 30 seconds worth of wide open it was resting it 15.3v I was like ddddaaammmmmnnnnnn lol that would of straight up killed one of my agms lol

A wireless Bass Knob. You would not think this is a big deal. Wait till you use one. And then it's hard to go back. This should have been done YEARS ago. But there ya have it. JP doing what needs to be done. And what people want.

Salt 8k puts out 1k more power at less voltage @ 1ohm certified, but D Will won't say it because sundown didn't give him an amp and I guess he doesn't trust other reputable dynos like Derrick from Sundown Unofficial. No salt just saying the real!

I've been watching the pricing on the salt-8 when it was discounted TWICE on D4S and it was STILL more expensive than the 83.. like by $900 lol. At that point you're better off getting the 83 and grabbing yourself 2 batteries or 1 battery and a bigger Alternator.

Yeah I agree, I think the fine-grain control is more of a positive, than it is a negative point. It's not like anyone is really going 0-100 in the real world on the level, so fine-grain is a-ok.

Impressive power but CapXon capcitors are horrible junk. That's what behringer uses in their power supplies and I've made a lot of money replacing those with nichicons after they fail within a couple years.
Agreed.. I kind of expect cheaper caps in lower priced but power dense amps. When we are starting to get up over the 700 dollar price point the cost of a name brand cap really isn't that big of a hit to the net profit on the amp. Plus it would show dedication to quality with that clear bottom cover.
Been waiting for this one but honestly I'm more impressed by the 43 & 63 on how underrated those are. I want a 63 to replace my 23. That also means about another grand though in just electrical upgrades too
Thats the problem, it never ends. I'm content with the 1900 watts at 1 ohm my MTX amp makes. For a daily driver I don't even need more than half that power anyways
fr I got the 23 for 250 bucks tho so I had to get it. right before they came out with all these new ones lol. but I actually like my bass knobs attenuation sensitivity and don't have the extra grand plus in more electrical like you lol. to supply this beast. one day tho...
@@wal Even at 10k watts that's a huge draw. How much time between clips do you wait before doing your next run. I assume there must be some recharge time between runs.
JP is changing the game, in a positive way. If I had access to these last year when I bought a Sundown Salt 4K, I would have purchased the 8K DFS instead. I'm very very happy with the performance of the Salt 4K, but these appear to be slightly superior in build quality. (Not to mention I basically paid double for half the performance of the amp shown) Def something to keep in mind going forward. Thanks BigD and JP!

I replaced my sundown salt 6k for the JP83 the power output is good. The bass remote is annoying, it resets the bass to zero whenever you pair the remote to the amp and it takes too many revolutions to turn the bass back up. Direct connect bass knob like the sundown salt or the JP 23 is much better.
Looks like I'm ordering one. I'm starting a new project for my 97 2 door Tahoe. My 18 sub is a older one a Solo X which was barely used from my brother. He used it for like 2 weeks back then then switched to 2 Fi BTL's. Solo X 18 still looks new I'm taking it out the basement and putting this amp on it😂

Going from a Rockford power 550x “50wx4” and a “500W” Rockford power bd1001 to the Jp23/4 combo should be a nice treat. I can imagine a Big D line up in the future... We got the Small D up to the XL D to satisfy your needs. Great content for sure and maybe one day I can install some of my old gear or maybe try these smaller JP amps to get some thump back in the old work truck.
JP’s new Tahoe is truly insane. If there’s actually a such thing as too much bass that’s it. The demos he’s doing are probably 8th volume. If he pushed it far enough that system would literally blow the truck apart.

Impressive power but CapXon capcitors are horrible junk. That's what behringer uses in their power supplies and I've made a lot of money replacing those with nichicons after they fail within a couple years.

Agreed.. I kind of expect cheaper caps in lower priced but power dense amps. When we are starting to get up over the 700 dollar price point the cost of a name brand cap really isn't that big of a hit to the net profit on the amp. Plus it would show dedication to quality with that clear bottom cover.

Been waiting for this one but honestly I'm more impressed by the 43 & 63 on how underrated those are. I want a 63 to replace my 23. That also means about another grand though in just electrical upgrades too
Thats the problem, it never ends. I'm content with the 1900 watts at 1 ohm my MTX amp makes. For a daily driver I don't even need more than half that power anyways
They are all quality amps and you’ll see the tech in other brands soon
the 33, 43, 63 were more impressive at 1% distortion.
fr I got the 23 for 250 bucks tho so I had to get it. right before they came out with all these new ones lol. but I actually like my bass knobs attenuation sensitivity and don't have the extra grand plus in more electrical like you lol. to supply this beast. one day tho...

Personally, I think this amp is a hell of a bargain, especially considering back in my day, most amps were roughly $1 per watt.
I’m getting back into the bass because it was expensive in the 90’s. I’m reliving my dreams.

23,578w @14.36v is nothing to sneeze at. You must have a massive battery bank to stay over 14v.
It’s a bit of a unicorn score being 0.5 resistive and dynamic but still crazy impressive
@@wal Even at 10k watts that's a huge draw. How much time between clips do you wait before doing your next run. I assume there must be some recharge time between runs.

JP is changing the game, in a positive way. If I had access to these last year when I bought a Sundown Salt 4K, I would have purchased the 8K DFS instead. I'm very very happy with the performance of the Salt 4K, but these appear to be slightly superior in build quality. (Not to mention I basically paid double for half the performance of the amp shown) Def something to keep in mind going forward. Thanks BigD and JP!

I replaced my sundown salt 6k for the JP83 the power output is good. The bass remote is annoying, it resets the bass to zero whenever you pair the remote to the amp and it takes too many revolutions to turn the bass back up. Direct connect bass knob like the sundown salt or the JP 23 is much better.

Looks like I'm ordering one. I'm starting a new project for my 97 2 door Tahoe. My 18 sub is a older one a Solo X which was barely used from my brother. He used it for like 2 weeks back then then switched to 2 Fi BTL's. Solo X 18 still looks new I'm taking it out the basement and putting this amp on it😂

I have the Jp23 & Jp234 combo unused and feel pretty good about my new build already. Going from a Rockford power 550x “50wx4” and a “500W” Rockford power bd1001 to the Jp23/4 combo should be a nice treat. Now my Rockford amps have lasted since 2002 until now so we’ll see if the Jp”s will have longevity like that or not? Thank you for the videos Big D I really enjoy learning with you. One love ☝️ ❤️

I can imagine a Big D line up in the future... We got the Small D up to the XL D to satisfy your needs. Great content for sure and maybe one day I can install some of my old gear or maybe try these smaller JP amps to get some thump back in the old work truck.

JP’s new Tahoe is truly insane. If there’s actually a such thing as too much bass that’s it. The demos he’s doing are probably 8th volume. If he pushed it far enough that system would literally blow the truck apart.
