Military missiles and the warheads they can carry have become more and more dangerous as technology has advanced rapidly. The destructive power of today’s weapons is beyond imagination with weapons being 3000 times more powerful than the dropped on Japan in World II... and now the world has a new weapon to fear…

I find it amazing that so many people think that this tech is "Fantastic". We were working on these in the late 70's and early 80's. The U.S has had these for almost 30 years in the arsenal. Only reason they are coming to the surface now is because of the demise of many treaties. As a weapon of last resort, the United States has an entire launch system setup for real stealth missiles. They can not be detected at any point from launch to delivery. But its also kind of a mote point with all these systems because every super power has a system set up to take out all modern tech in just a few minutes. These weapon systems will make it nearly impossible for any 20th and 21st century tech to work and will keep all mankind grounded from space for many decades if not centuries. Nothing will be able to survive in orbit. Just remember, what gets leaked out to the media is almost 30 year old tech. Its been this way for almost half a century now.

@gallya I used to think the same thing, but have been incredibly stunned at the downfall of Intel over the last couple years. Keep in mind that you are focusing on much smaller graphics segment (where they are also getting beaten), and missing the Intel's much larger chip business. Intel lost its focus on what it does best. Skylake has been a disaster.
Even as far as GPU, Nvidia runs circles around Intel, and Nvidia is worth A LOT more money than Intel as well, which is critically important for R&D. Because of this, Intel has lost its ability to compete with AMD and Nvidia, and is in massive debt, and as a result, Intel's stock has been in a nose dive (which is still overvalued by many analysts), and the company is in deep trouble. Intel is no longer the rock stars they used to be as their glory days are over. Times and the industry have been experiencing major changes, and are leaving Intel behind, and have largely moved on.

Also an amount of energy has to be delivered and this will take for a laser a few seconds at the best. There is even more problems related to the plasma developing around the missile at such speeds.

America has had hyper-sonic technology for a very long time. The X-15 was a Mach 6 piloted Rocket plane, and this was in the 60's, while the UN-piloted X-43A SCRAM-Jet did around Mach 10 in the 2000's. However, what I was told is that a hyper-sonic projectile does not need a payload, because the kinetic energy from the impact will produce enough destructive energy.
Nevertheless, I think an American hyper-sonic missile technology will be just for show. This is because America has advanced laser technology that can shoot-down any object, at any speed, since nothing is faster than the speed of light. But I don't know if this laser technology is still being kept secret. And then there is also the coming Mach 7+ Electromagnetic Rail-Gun technologies. As for delivering a nuclear payload, the X-15's hyper-sonic technology from as far back as the 60's will do fine.

It has a range of 700 to 1,900 km (430 to 1,180 mi) and is capable of carrying a payload of 200kg to 1 ton conventional or nuclear warhead. It gives the potential to strike at very-long-range against any adversary. Saurya is possibly the fastest hypersonic missile as of date. In case you have inadvertently missed it, then it's okay.

That's because it's in our evolutionary blood. There's a reason there is no more Neanderthals, Denisovans, or other hominims in general, even though they lived at the same time we did and were extremely similar (with their own languages, tools, clothes, art, and even musical instruments).
Nope, we killed em all. Literally drove our own cousins extinct with no concern for their cultures or lives. Because Homo Sapien are savage. Inherently. With no other hominin left to ravage and terrorize, we turned on each other, and have been at our own inter-species war ever since. And always will be; until we wipe ourselves out.
Perhaps the Neanderthals would've had a brighter, more peaceful culture and way of life. Perhaps they'd rule the earth as we do, but would pool their resources together in hopes of advancing mankind. Perhaps they'd have already visited Mars, cured cancer, and developed a society that lived in peace. Well, we'll never know now.

Or... evil is a problem within human nature that needs to be constantly fought against because the default is to do what is selfish and wrong, and combating this default is what has allowed us to progress as far as we have as a species, which aliens would probably know about, and thus not want to intervene and make it worse.
People like you always assume aliens are benevolent space gods that avoid us because we're the big bad wolf of the galaxy. You realize aliens that became sufficiently advanced enough to travel the galaxy would definitely have a concept of morality and the struggles that all conscious beings would face with it, right? If you assume morality comes from a standard of absolute morality rather than just a subjective idea of what is better for a species in the long run, you could also start getting religious and say the standard of this morality which humans struggle with is from God and thus what takes place on Earth is in fact a battle of spirits with humans as the ammunition. Something aliens that level of advanced would already be aware of and would be steering clear as per instructions from what would be their creator as well.
Questions like "if aliens, then where and why not here?" aren't an opportunity for you to virtue-signal how much smarter and braver you think you are by just taking a dump on your own species as though you're above them and all their conflicts of huamnity. Life is more complicated than that, kiddo.

    • @brandonporter6223
      @brandonporter6223 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

The concept of Mutually Assured Destruction and nuclear parity has prevented countless wars and has kept a relative level of peace between superpowers that hardly existed before. Study some history dude.
Also, if there's an advanced alien race out there, why does everyone assume that they are all of one mind and have the same beliefs and opinions and that they themselves haven't also engaged in wars in their history? Like they never needed evolutionary traits necessary for survival, as if they just automatically reached the capabilities of forming an extraterrestrial civilization? Very shallow thinking. And that's ignoring your obvious lack of understanding of the fermi paradox at any level.
I know you were just making a point. But your point is really dumb. The world is complicated, humans are complicated, there's gonna be conflict so long as individuals are capable of thinking freely. You can't just compare us to some hypothetical perfect civilization, that's very childish. And there's no way you can argue that modern times are not way more peaceful than the rest of human history. And there are many reasons for that. One of those being the ability to insure your enemies cannot invade you or your allies.

Elster's own view on the matter derives from the root of the word: "nucleus". Arguing by analogy, Elster suggests that "Molecular comes from molecule, and particular comes from particle, but there is no nucule to support nucular."[6][7]"
Further, it's got nothing to do with the f'ing British, and their pronunciations, so why you feel the need to immediately jump into a nationalist diatribe against them or anyone else as "a proud American" escapes me.
It's the base languages of Latin and Greek which prescribe the logical ordering of compound words together into larger wurds.
We already have the word "nucular" in English, it specifically references a nut shaped object (usually pertaining to Botany) or in the form "nucule" pertaining to a division of a compound fruit.
The mispronunciation "nu cu lar" started out as exactly that, a mispronunciation by people who didn't know any better, but were in authority. Then their juniors copied them like sheep, then it spread wider.
IF they hadn't had such a limited vocabulary to start with and had had "nucular" in their lexicon meaning 'nut shaped' or "nucule" meaning a division of a compound fruit, then they woudn't have readily taken to the mispronunciation being used in place of "nuclear".
All this stuff about it just being "different pronunciation" is mere rationalization of the folly, on your part. And the fact that now many educated people have given up resistance to the creeping dumbing down and degradation of language, does not mean it is logical, or right or useful, it just means they've gone along with it.
It is patently absurd to want to supplant a perfectly good word which has one meaning, with another word that already has two other meanings.
I have nothing against language evolving and changing, because that is a natural and healthy thing, but it needs to conform to logical syntax rules or it is doomed, along with the community who rely on it for meaningful and accurate communication.

Everything is about extorting money from everyone.. from the american taxpayer to the russian people... money is made by already filthy rich assholes who love shooting missiles at other people... just to hear that ka-ching of a cash register. The difference between the avionics in an AH-64D Apache and an AH-64E Apache is quite a lot and yet those rolled out the doors at Boeing in Mesa Arizona in less than 10 years of each other. Development never stops. It can't.
