    These are awesome! And that case was a real find even before Odin fixed it up.
    Quick unsolicited tip - don't use rubber cement. Use either liquid latex or latex artists masking fluid. Much easier to remove than rubber cement. Cheers!

    Just found this video.... really good.... but how do you change batteries in detonators?

    • @trytofinishsomething

      The foam they sit in is pressure fit and is able to slide out!

    superb work. What kind of battery did you use inside the thermal detonator?

    • @trytofinishsomething
      @trytofinishsomething  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There was so much room you could do almost anything. I used a 9v because it was what I had and it gave it a little weight.

  • @AmericanWoodlandRelics
    @AmericanWoodlandRelics 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great job but I have one question. If you glued the two halves together how do you change the battery?

    • @trytofinishsomething
      @trytofinishsomething  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The whole foam piece slides out as one unit and the battery is below it!

  • @ekij133
    @ekij133 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    That looks really well. But if you glued the Thermal Detonators together, do that mean you can't get into then again to replace the batteries?

    • @trytofinishsomething
      @trytofinishsomething  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not make the “easy” to replace. I don’t turn them on very often so they should last a long time. I did take one apart and because I only used a little glue it didn’t take much force to separate.

  • @JesterRosetherandombard67
    @JesterRosetherandombard67 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    What would be some differences for weathering for a prop that has two years of grime and rust compared to something that has been around for like 20 years and just beaten to heck

    • @trytofinishsomething
      @trytofinishsomething  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For me I look to more real world “things” as examples … after a few years you might have a little bit of rust, but more dust and dirt. After 20 it’s all your imagination … rust, decay, dirt, mud, leaks … it’s all on the table!
