JUST AN FYI - the brand actually unfollowed me for posting this review, which IMO is pretty unprofessional, because I was just being honest and sharing both the positive and the negative. It's so important for brands to take constructive criticism and feedback from their customers, rather than making a show of unfollowing people for giving their real opinions. It's a tactic that a lot of brands do to try to pressure small channels into giving them positive reviews to "stay on their good side". Personally, I'd rather be honest with you guys and not have their support, but I just wanted to let you know why I removed their purchase link from the description and why I will not be reviewing or using their products anymore.
That’s awful Kelli! I have no respect for companies that do this! It’s shady business. IMO it’s their loss. If they want to dupe people into buying their product, it’s too bad. I appreciate your honesty and love watching your reviews. Keep it up! :) Edited to add- I love these colors but thanks to you reviews I have learned a lot about nail polishes. I thought it was standard for nail polishes to be 3-4 coaters (I have long nails) and it was a pain to paint! I’ll wait for pastels with better formulas since I it’s started growing my collection thanks to you and Christine.
I have been curious about this brand for a while but friends have had mixed reviews so I never purchased any since there are other brands I love. Now hearing how they handle their PR, I am glad I havent given them my business. Hard pass.

I’ve been seeing their ads forever, and was considering buying this collection as I love the colors & being a three coater is not a deal breaker for me....then I saw your comment about them unfollowing you after this review... That is completely unprofessional, not to mention poor business practice. You have a huge platform of potential customers, and for the company to react like this to your very constructive comments - thus alienating your devoted followers - is petty and childish. Nothing you said was terribly negative, just honest. If that’s not what this company wants out of their reviewers then they do not deserve my money. Hard pass, Olive & June. I was definitely surprised to see their reaction to my honesty - but since this was posted, I've heard they do their best to stifle negative reviews in general, which is also disappointing and misleading to their customers! I am definitely avoiding them from now on.
Crazy that they we're so bitter and unfollowed you because even though the review was slightly negative at the end, I was still interested in picking up some of the shades but not after that
Thanks for this review! I haven't found too many reviews on this brand that weren't amazingly positive. My personal experience was these nail polishes have a hard learning curve and it's not my preferred style of painting my nails. The formula started getting really thick, goopy, and streaky at around 2-3 months. I emailed them at 6 months and they said they are thicker because it's formulated with resin which makes it chip resistant (false.. they chip after 2 days for me) and that it's normal to thicken due to air. They also told me after 6 months was a great time to replace them which I found ridiculous... would NOT recommend at all
Hello Kelli! Just saw your review and the response of the brand, and I am not surprised. I purchased their products last winter. I tried them all and loved the colors, but they were absolutely not long-lasting. No matter what I did, they chipped the next day, or on the 3rd day latest. I wrote reviews on their website for a couple of products, and I gave the products 3 stars (If it only for durability I would give 1 star, but I liked the colors so I gave them 3). The company didn't publish my reviews. I commented on one of them IG posts inquiring about why they censored my reviews. They messaged me to say that they don't censor and they will publish them soon. Weeks after weeks passed, not a single review of mine was allowed on the website. I contacted them again, and they were like "oh we don't do censorship btw would like us to refund you?" At that point I realized that there was no way they would let my voice to be heard, so I just accepted the refund and decided to never purchase from this brand again. The last time I checked all the reviews were 5 stars, people like me with 3 stars were not allowed to voice our opinion. Just wanted to share my experience with this brand.

Olive and June was my intro to the world of nail polish. I bought their system during the pandemic and own a lot of their colors/care products. I am only learning now that it is not normal to have to apply so many coats and for polish to take so long to dry. I wish I would have found your channel sooner! I am now expanding into trying other brands and am excited about the cirque order I placed recently. In fairness to them I will say their more recent releases have been 2 coaters, even for the lighter colors, but the trade off is it is thicker and can be harder to apply evenly. One thing I do love about them is their brush, are there other brands that have a similar one? I am still relatively new to painting my nails and their brush has made application easier as far as getting an even finish. Thanks for the honest review and I have been enjoying your channel for finding other brands to try!
My issue w this polish was that it took forever to dry. There were 2 nails that I had to completely redo because after literally an hour, they got peeled if you will (from being still tacky) from doing everyday stuff bc after an hour I assumed they’d be fully dry. This definitely wasn’t my fault because I haven’t had this issue with other polishes
I was about to buy a kit because of Black Friday sale, but thank God I came across your review. My desire to purchase died faster than my hope of getting my grades up.
I own several olive & june polishes and I would say that they have a learning curve to them in terms of the formula. Their polishes are typically 3 coaters since there is so much white pigment and they have a ton of light colors... but I love the brush. I find that their darker colors like CNH are more opaque in 2 coats but they don't have many darker shades atm (they are a newer company) but yeah I agree with you, they are expensive for the hassle and there are better brands out there
I think you are very objective and sweet with your review. You explained what you liked and didn't in a very professional way. Every brand can improve their products with negative feedback, so it's a shame that they unfollowed you for your honest review. Keep up the great work! :D

This brand is known for their long lasting manicures. That’s why the formula is sheer. It’s suppose to be sheer in the very beginning. They added the poppy to help those who are not pros at painting their nails. That’s why they made this box. For the perfect at home manicure. Give them another try. I’m sure it will grow on you (:
I was just about to buy from them but so many things sketched me out. I signed up for their 20 percent off thing only to, of course, discover its only for their "systems", which is made of stuff I already have anyway. Second, their "paint parties" really really sketched me out. Sounds very MLM-like. I've seen people say "oh, they have a cult-like following but they arent a cult and theyre not an MLM!" but they seem very borderline. I did some research and someone on reddit pointed this video out. The new rainbow electric eel fish collection looked very very pretty, but after just one hour of research and a weird experience without even purchasing anything yet, I've decided I'll just spend my money elsewhere. You are so sweet and don't deserve such treatment.
Watched two reviews from channels wasting their time talking about wear and the poppy so I knew I had to come here to find someone that would actually talk about the application and shades. Stay true to yourself.
The ads I kept getting for these was so enticing. They are beautiful colors but I'm too impatient for three to four coats. Also LOVE the sundress, where did you get it?! 😍
If you want pastels, try to look on ebay for older insta-dri colors! They're super cheap and they're one coaters! After being spoiled by insta-dri solid colors (which are most one coaters) I disapprove of 3-4 coaters for solids.
I love the colors in this collection! But I do agree with you about the formula, even though the colors were super beautiful on your nails at the end of the day. 💛

I have 12 of this brand in a variety of shades, and they're all very thin, 3-coat polishes, even the dark grey. It's actually why I haven't bought from them again; your review is good feedback and a good brand would take it as a learning instead of acting so petty as to unfollow you.
Hi Kelli - this is a completely unbiased review and to be honest, not even that critical. In this day and age, it is not acceptable to have polishes that need 3 coats - no one has time for that and also there are so many other great brands out there. I was interested in buying some of their products but will absolutely not be doing so anymore as a company who behaves like a bully is not one that I want to support. Thanks for being honest xx
I think I've seen something like that silicone thingy advertised somewhere and it is to "help you apply your polish like a pro", I guess make it easier to grasp the cap and maneuver the brush on your nails. I have some caps that are really short and I think that might make it easier to hold them. You look amazing btw, beautiful colors on your eyes.
I buy a ton of nail polish and this was the first collection or purchase from this brand and I’m not impressed for the cost, so thin and streaky but I like the brush, I should of waited for this I watched a review on a smaller channel that doesn’t do live swatches. Great review

I think some brands just see my channel as a way for them to make easy money for free because I'm generally very positive about polish and I love a lot of different brands. But it's definitely disappointing to have a brand act this way, I think I was pretty positive but I also told the truth about their formulas being thin - I guess they just wanted me to gush about them the whole time lol

Was interested in the brand because of the Poppy and my mom is having a hard time with her hands so figured it’d be perfect! ALSO I was not interested in yellow nail polish before this video and now I need it haha
Your review wasn't even harsh for them to unfollow you! Even if it was it is a big turn off for them not to be able to accept constructive criticism. Some people don't mind doing 3 coats and others seem morally opposed to doing so. I have this collection and most of them are 3 coaters for me. It is what it is. If I were them I'd rather have it be known this is a 3 coat collection so people can make an informed choice. Seems better than having a bunch of people mad that they spent money on polishes that look like they should be 2 coat cremes. 🤷♀️
Honestly I don't have a problem with 3 coaters in general! ILNP is generally 3 coaters and I love them. This unprofessionalism has definitely rubbed me the wrong way though. I won't be using them again.
While they responded to your review poorly, I am glad that you did review them. I see a lot of ads from this nail polish brand, and lots of people have considered buying from them, including me. I had past opportunities to try the brand, but didn't because of the price. I'm glad that I didn't buy it because I would feel bad for giving them my money because of their unprofessional behavior towards you and would probably be disappointed with the polish, as you were. If the brand is going to respond in such a childish way, it is not worth my buy. Thank you for these videos Kelli. I always trust your judgement in regards to nail polish brands. I have bought some polishes that have been $10-15, but they were worth it because they were great polishes and brands that you had reviewed previously, and you were honest about their greatness. In this case, the thinness and sheerness of the formula. I haven't had much luck with brands that I haven't seen you review, so I really appreciate you sharing these honest videos with your fans and followers 💙💜
These were pretty soft summer colors. I'm trying to relax before I clean so I'm watching youtube and my cat ran and laid on my head and is covering my eye.
They've been popping up on my feed too but I'm not seeing any color to make me go wow. While I like three coats to really protect my nails from breaking, I prefer polishes that could go with two for quick manis. OPI takes at least three for the length of my nails and is cheaper. 🤷♀️
Hi Kelli! Thank you for being honest with your review and I'm sorry that they were petty and unfollowed you. I was wondering if you had tried to use a top coat with these? I used Seche Vite with Bold & Unshaken and it distorted the color, it bleached it a little bit,so weird! I saw other people have the same issue with that color. I contacted the company and I was pleasantly surprised at their customer service. They're sending me a new bottle and gave me a partial refund. I hope the new bottle doesn't have the same issue. Sorry for the long message, just wanted to share my experience in case anybody else had the same experience.
Btw I just used the orange and yellow and only needed two coats!! Also that thing at the end is called a poppy and it does work wonders!!! It helps me with my Cindy and I’m sure it helps people who struggle with both hands. Love the review!

Wow I thought you were very balanced in your review and not at all negative. Truly constructive feedback, sad to know that the brand reacted this way. I wouldn't have been able to buy them anyway, being in India, but this makes me way less inclined to do so. Loved this skittle manicure and I'm definitely going to try and recreate it with polishes in my own collection (and maybe a few new ones too 😈)

I got this collection a week ago after Matilda recommended it to me! I absolutely loved the colors! Super excited to receive it, as I personally don’t mind 3 coat formulas.
I don’t have an issue with three coaters but these colors are pretty easy to find with less coats! China glaze is cheaper and has these same colors for two coats haha.

i’m a fan of olive & june, i have their whole collection, and the summer collection is still on its way. i had to start using a third-party shipping service because they stopped shipping to my state, which annoys me. i find the darker colors don’t always need 3 coats, especially if you use their top coat. the reason i’m still devoted to the brand is because their formula really, really sticks to my nails. days and days without chipping, and i work in a lab, so imagine how often i’m washing my hands! not a fan of the poppy though. it was harder for me to pain my nails using it.
Wow so happy I saw this before purchasing. I literally had it in my cart ready to purchase but after seeing how they treated you, I’ll be going somewhere else. Unfortunate that they chose to be this way considering I still would’ve bought it even after hearing about the formula (just to try out for myself), it’s knowing how they reacted to you that made me not want to purchase. Anyways what a wonderful channel! I’ve been getting into doing my own nails lately because of quarantine haha

But the brand's response to a slightly negative review and then later the owner of the company acting insane on my Instagram page and then harassing my followers via DM was insane lol. Never experienced that with a brand before, it was extremely uncomfortable! Definitely will never use their products again! (But I promise I'm not usually one for drama, lol! I'm just here to share my love of nail polish!)
I purchased the first box that they had. I love the tools (clippers, file, buffer, Poppy. I enjoyed the tools and the Poppy made it easier for me to paint. I have an achy pair of hands.
I have two little budgies (parakeets) who love to screech in the morning, but as soon as your video comes on they start twiddling happily. I wish they liked my voice as much as yours!
I just love your videos! They are always so fun and informative. Have you done a video on your fave one coat polishes? If not, I would love to see that because I have a hard time with more sheer polishes like the ones in this video.
Lovely colour with a good wide brush, nice for summer, weddings or summer picnics but would prefer 1 or 2 coats, I get bored easily waiting for coats to dry and would soon give up on this formula. Love the hair colours! 😘

Omg I thought I was going crazy! My cousin loved this nail polish brand and she highly recommended it to me but the color kept looking streaky on me, even at thee coats, it was very frustrating!
My cousin brought up this brand to me (she knows I like nail polish) and I wanted to learn about their formula and actual colors cuz well all the pictures on their site look photoshopped instead of actual swatches. Aah unfortunately I just bought 2 polishes from them during a sale! I got the pale blue from this collection and a pale sage green. I'm just getting back into nails so hopefully I don't struggle too much lol.
I have a couple of these collections and agree that the formula is sheer and kinda gloopy for some shades. The real draw for me is that these nail polishes last! OPI will chip on me in two days, but this brand will last two weeks for me. To some extent, I think it may just be the Olive and June topcoat that contributes to the longevity. I have used the topcoat with other brands and it makes those manicures last longer as well
I watched another review of this polish, and apparently you pull off the black polish cap to reveal a white one that the pink attachment goes on. Seems like a good option for people with dexterity issues or shaky hands.

Honestly some of my favorite nail polishes are 3 coaters. I like sheers because they can kinda pass off as gel by the third coat and I like the way the light bounces off them. I didn’t see this as a negative review until I read the comments.

I have Bold and Unshaken on my nails now. I only put 2 coats on and they look beautiful. I have been using Dazzle Dry and that is expensive polish. Although I am not a fan of their top coat.
Oh how I wish I could wear nail polish on my finger nails! I can't because of my work, so I have to be satisfied with only wearing nail polish on my toes! I'm currently wearing a peachy orange colour on my toes. Loved the video, thumbs up 💅💕
@@KelliMarissa It's actually Winter in South Africa right now! In the bottle the polish looked like a sort of muted light pink but it came out peachy orange on the nail 🤣 That's what I get for buying cheap Chinese nail polish hehe. Still cute though!
Brush aids like that are sooooo helpful! I have cubital tunnel (sister to carpal tunnel) and some arthritis in my hands, which can make it difficult to fully close my hand/fingers around the thin brush handles.

Yeah. I was gonna call it worth it for some of the shades, but that's shitty behavior from a professional company when she wasn't wildly negative.

Six months is a crazy short time period. I have polishes that are over 10 years old and perform just fine!

This brand is known for their long lasting manicures. That’s why the formula is sheer. It’s suppose to be sheer in the very beginning. They added the poppy to help those who are not pros at painting their nails. That’s why they made this box. For the perfect at home manicure. Give them another try. I’m sure it will grow on you (:

I was just about to buy from them but so many things sketched me out. I signed up for their 20 percent off thing only to, of course, discover its only for their "systems", which is made of stuff I already have anyway. Second, their "paint parties" really really sketched me out. Sounds very MLM-like. I've seen people say "oh, they have a cult-like following but they arent a cult and theyre not an MLM!" but they seem very borderline. I did some research and someone on reddit pointed this video out. The new rainbow electric eel fish collection looked very very pretty, but after just one hour of research and a weird experience without even purchasing anything yet, I've decided I'll just spend my money elsewhere. You are so sweet and don't deserve such treatment.
Watched two reviews from channels wasting their time talking about wear and the poppy so I knew I had to come here to find someone that would actually talk about the application and shades. Stay true to yourself.

A 1-coater dupe for the pink one is 'Sensationail Nailtural' in the color Lively Lavender. So good, and I think I picked it up at Rite Aid.
The ads I kept getting for these was so enticing. They are beautiful colors but I'm too impatient for three to four coats. Also LOVE the sundress, where did you get it?! 😍

If you want pastels, try to look on ebay for older insta-dri colors! They're super cheap and they're one coaters! After being spoiled by insta-dri solid colors (which are most one coaters) I disapprove of 3-4 coaters for solids.

I have 12 of this brand in a variety of shades, and they're all very thin, 3-coat polishes, even the dark grey. It's actually why I haven't bought from them again; your review is good feedback and a good brand would take it as a learning instead of acting so petty as to unfollow you.
Hi Kelli - this is a completely unbiased review and to be honest, not even that critical. In this day and age, it is not acceptable to have polishes that need 3 coats - no one has time for that and also there are so many other great brands out there. I was interested in buying some of their products but will absolutely not be doing so anymore as a company who behaves like a bully is not one that I want to support. Thanks for being honest xx

I think I've seen something like that silicone thingy advertised somewhere and it is to "help you apply your polish like a pro", I guess make it easier to grasp the cap and maneuver the brush on your nails. I have some caps that are really short and I think that might make it easier to hold them. You look amazing btw, beautiful colors on your eyes.

I buy a ton of nail polish and this was the first collection or purchase from this brand and I’m not impressed for the cost, so thin and streaky but I like the brush, I should of waited for this I watched a review on a smaller channel that doesn’t do live swatches. Great review

I think some brands just see my channel as a way for them to make easy money for free because I'm generally very positive about polish and I love a lot of different brands. But it's definitely disappointing to have a brand act this way, I think I was pretty positive but I also told the truth about their formulas being thin - I guess they just wanted me to gush about them the whole time lol
Kelli Marissa you also noted that ILNP was on the thinner side, they didn’t unfollow you. Just heard a Simply Podlogical podcast about this exact thing with polish brands. We appreciate you and I think you are fair.

Thank you for making this video! Was going to buy the big box for $80 for my moms birthday, but think I’m only going to get a couple to try now. Was interested in the brand because of the Poppy and my mom is having a hard time with her hands so figured it’d be perfect! ALSO I was not interested in yellow nail polish before this video and now I need it haha

Your review wasn't even harsh for them to unfollow you! Even if it was it is a big turn off for them not to be able to accept constructive criticism. Some people don't mind doing 3 coats and others seem morally opposed to doing so. I have this collection and most of them are 3 coaters for me. It is what it is. If I were them I'd rather have it be known this is a 3 coat collection so people can make an informed choice. Seems better than having a bunch of people mad that they spent money on polishes that look like they should be 2 coat cremes. 🤷♀️
Honestly I don't have a problem with 3 coaters in general! ILNP is generally 3 coaters and I love them. This unprofessionalism has definitely rubbed me the wrong way though. I won't be using them again.

While they responded to your review poorly, I am glad that you did review them. I see a lot of ads from this nail polish brand, and lots of people have considered buying from them, including me. I had past opportunities to try the brand, but didn't because of the price. I'm glad that I didn't buy it because I would feel bad for giving them my money because of their unprofessional behavior towards you and would probably be disappointed with the polish, as you were. If the brand is going to respond in such a childish way, it is not worth my buy. Thank you for these videos Kelli. I always trust your judgement in regards to nail polish brands. I have bought some polishes that have been $10-15, but they were worth it because they were great polishes and brands that you had reviewed previously, and you were honest about their greatness. In this case, the thinness and sheerness of the formula. I haven't had much luck with brands that I haven't seen you review, so I really appreciate you sharing these honest videos with your fans and followers 💙💜
These were pretty soft summer colors. I'm trying to relax before I clean so I'm watching youtube and my cat ran and laid on my head and is covering my eye.

They've been popping up on my feed too but I'm not seeing any color to make me go wow.
While I like three coats to really protect my nails from breaking, I prefer polishes that could go with two for quick manis. OPI takes at least three for the length of my nails and is cheaper. 🤷♀️
Hi Kelli! Thank you for being honest with your review and I'm sorry that they were petty and unfollowed you. I was wondering if you had tried to use a top coat with these? I used Seche Vite with Bold & Unshaken and it distorted the color, it bleached it a little bit,so weird! I saw other people have the same issue with that color. I contacted the company and I was pleasantly surprised at their customer service. They're sending me a new bottle and gave me a partial refund. I hope the new bottle doesn't have the same issue. Sorry for the long message, just wanted to share my experience in case anybody else had the same experience.

Btw I just used the orange and yellow and only needed two coats!! Also that thing at the end is called a poppy and it does work wonders!!! It helps me with my Cindy and I’m sure it helps people who struggle with both hands. Love the review!

I wouldn't have been able to buy them anyway, being in India, but this makes me way less inclined to do so. Loved this skittle manicure and I'm definitely going to try and recreate it with polishes in my own collection (and maybe a few new ones too 😈)

I had no idea so many people didn’t like 3 coaters! I always have to do 3 to cover up my nail line and I use mainly indies.
I don’t have an issue with three coaters but these colors are pretty easy to find with less coats! China glaze is cheaper and has these same colors for two coats haha.

i’m a fan of olive & june, i have their whole collection, and the summer collection is still on its way. i had to start using a third-party shipping service because they stopped shipping to my state, which annoys me. i find the darker colors don’t always need 3 coats, especially if you use their top coat.
the reason i’m still devoted to the brand is because their formula really, really sticks to my nails. days and days without chipping, and i work in a lab, so imagine how often i’m washing my hands!
not a fan of the poppy though. it was harder for me to pain my nails using it.
Wow so happy I saw this before purchasing. I literally had it in my cart ready to purchase but after seeing how they treated you, I’ll be going somewhere else. Unfortunate that they chose to be this way considering I still would’ve bought it even after hearing about the formula (just to try out for myself), it’s knowing how they reacted to you that made me not want to purchase. But the brand's response to a slightly negative review and then later the owner of the company acting insane on my Instagram page and then harassing my followers via DM was insane lol. Never experienced that with a brand before, it was extremely uncomfortable! Definitely will never use their products again! (But I promise I'm not usually one for drama, lol! I'm just here to share my love of nail polish!)
I purchased the first box that they had. I love the tools (clippers, file, buffer, Poppy. I enjoyed the tools and the Poppy made it easier for me to paint. I have an achy pair of hands.

Lovely colour with a good wide brush, nice for summer, weddings or summer picnics but would prefer 1 or 2 coats, I get bored easily waiting for coats to dry and would soon give up on this formula. Love the hair colours! 😘

Omg I thought I was going crazy! My cousin loved this nail polish brand and she highly recommended it to me but the color kept looking streaky on me, even at thee coats, it was very frustrating!
My cousin brought up this brand to me (she knows I like nail polish) and I wanted to learn about their formula and actual colors cuz well all the pictures on their site look photoshopped instead of actual swatches. Aah unfortunately I just bought 2 polishes from them during a sale! I got the pale blue from this collection and a pale sage green. I'm just getting back into nails so hopefully I don't struggle too much lol.

I have a couple of these collections and agree that the formula is sheer and kinda gloopy for some shades. The real draw for me is that these nail polishes last! OPI will chip on me in two days, but this brand will last two weeks for me. To some extent, I think it may just be the Olive and June topcoat that contributes to the longevity. I have used the topcoat with other brands and it makes those manicures last longer as well

I watched another review of this polish, and apparently you pull off the black polish cap to reveal a white one that the pink attachment goes on. Seems like a good option for people with dexterity issues or shaky hands.

Honestly some of my favorite nail polishes are 3 coaters. I like sheers because they can kinda pass off as gel by the third coat and I like the way the light bounces off them. I didn’t see this as a negative review until I read the comments.

I have Bold and Unshaken on my nails now. I only put 2 coats on and they look beautiful. I have been using Dazzle Dry and that is expensive polish. Although I am not a fan of their top coat.

Oh how I wish I could wear nail polish on my finger nails! I can't because of my work, so I have to be satisfied with only wearing nail polish on my toes! I'm currently wearing a peachy orange colour on my toes. Loved the video, thumbs up 💅💕

@@KelliMarissa It's actually Winter in South Africa right now! In the bottle the polish looked like a sort of muted light pink but it came out peachy orange on the nail 🤣 That's what I get for buying cheap Chinese nail polish hehe. Still cute though!
Brush aids like that are sooooo helpful! I have cubital tunnel (sister to carpal tunnel) and some arthritis in my hands, which can make it difficult to fully close my hand/fingers around the thin brush handles.
