My dearly departed Mom used to say there are things that are "so ugly they're cute." When you mentioned "Ugly Pretty polishes" it made me think of her and smile. :)

When I first opened the colorpass box, I was dubious. But then I swatched them, and Oh My. They are really nice. The colorpass came with matte top coat - and WOW!!!! You’ve got to try them all mattified! Even more gorgeous!!

I love stop the clock and metamorphosis! I feel like stop the clock isn't quite a dupe but it's similar enough to Now or Nova from last year's china glaze Halloween collection that I can't quite justify it.
Damnit Kelli. I was iffy with the collection when i first saw them in the emails. But you swatch and review makes me want them now. Also they were be able to combo them from last years fall collection. I prefer Orly’s fall collection. Also Metamorphosis is giving your collection vibes.
That might be why I'm so attached to Metamorphosis haha! It's right up my alley!!
Here’s what I’m going to say about Orly - I have ordered their nail rescue kit and it has helped me a lot with nails that peel horizontally. When this happens to one of my nails, there is really no way to “save” it through cutting it back or any kind of “special top coat.” But what HAS helped is using the nail rescue kit. It bonds the nail together so that it strengthens it while allowing it to grow out. Over time, it is possible to keep the length, continue to file it, and ultimately the split layer will be filed off. Win/win. Thank you, Orly!

I know you don’t worry about top coats as much because you change out your manicures often, but I’ve started using the Orly Won’t Chip and I swear I’m doubling the lifespan of my manicure. Good job, Orly!
This is one of my favorite all times polish brands. Loved Stop The Clock and Metamorphosis the best.
I absolutely love this collection as well. I think it is their best since Desert Muse, which made me decide to subscribe to Color Pass. I love every color in this collection, and I love that Orly seems to be following an art movement theme of late (Impressions, Pop, Surrealist), and I hope they keep doing that as it seems to really inspire cohesive and unique collections. Like you, I think Metamorphosis is the stand out, but they are all awesome and I will wear them all numerous times!
I also love Dalì! I went to Spain in 2004 and visited his village and museum. It was a core memory for me.
Elysian Fields is the first prugly polish that made me go "oooh, is for me?" I love this entire collection! As for fiction books that changed my life...check out The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner if you haven't yet. That series alone has inspired me to push harder into creating my own big fantasy world.
It's not just you, as soon as I opened the box I was OBSESSED. It seemed so unique even as a nail polish novice.
I imagine you haven’t had time to properly savor these las few reviews due to the move 😅 but holy shit this collection is right up my alley, the finishes and color story are 10/10
Oh man I'm hoping it all settles down soon so I can enjoy all these fall releases haha! And I NEED to wear Metamorphosis as a full mani asap!!

These are gorgeous and Elysian Fields is phenomenal! I literally gasped when I saw it. Here in NC that color has another name and yes my chickens provide me with it daily. 🐓🐔🐤 Thanks for the great swatches Kelli!

I love every one of them, but Elysian Fields is the stand out for me. There's nothing like a nice mustardy-brown for Autumn! And with Orly, you get that nice big bottle and wonderful brush- what's not to love?
I've had massive vet bills for my dog the last two months and had to forego this collection. Hell or high water, I'm getting it next month. These colors are gorgeous!

And the book series I feel in love with, that is my favorite of all time. I was in school and I looked at “Alanna the First Adventure” and I wanted to check it out. My friend says it was a good four books and I loved them so much. I try to read them every year. It’s about a girl who doesn’t want to be a lady but a knight. So she talks to her twin to switch places with her and he goes to be a mage and she goes to be a knight. This book make me proud to be not all into girly stuff and more what I love. It is a wonderful young adult story and I really recommend it.
This is the only fall collection so far that I have loved entirely! Essie’s didn’t do anything for me and neither did OPI’s. Metamorphosis is on its way to me as we speak. I hope I love it as much in person. But honestly, I could add this entire collection to my already over 270 polish collection. So that’s sayin’ something.

Copper turns teal green when it patinas. That’s why they work so well together.
There's been a lot of life changing books for me but the one that I always come back to is "The Gunslinger" by Stephen King. The Dark Tower series altogether, really. I read the first book when I was 12 and he released the last book in the series when I was 18. I'm now 40 and I go back and re read them every now and then and I'm just as affected now as I was as a young girl.

I'm loving that all of this year's Orly seasonal collections are art-style inspired! Makes me wonder what they'll do for winter/holiday - maybe Art Deco*?? Metamorphosis is my fave too - teals/blues are my faves and I can't get enough of a contrasting shimmer!

My boyfriend uses Orly Bonder exclusively. His chemistry tends to pop his polish off and OBB really helps. Most of Stephen King's earlier work is insanely good. I found his 'the Stand' in the school library in 9th grade and I never looked back. lol Still my fave author ever!
This collection is pure FIRE! I rarely like every color in a collection. Elysian Fields looks like my toddlers poop, hehe! But, Elysian Fields is major street in my hometown New Orleans, so I'm excited about that color.
I am wearing Elysian Fields with Orly Matte Top coat. My favorite Ugly Pretty Polish ever!! TBH my favorite color ever!
I don't even like most autumn colors, but I was good with this collection. I won't say what Elysian Fields looks like to me because it's vulgar. So I'm not wild about it, but maybe on the nail it will win me over. Ceci n'est pas Blanc and Dreamer Awake are the two that most people will have dupes of, but pretty enough to keep. Persistent Memory--love that shade for autumn. It just screams sweater weather college football games. Stop the Clock went right onto my polish schedule for Thanksgiving--so perfect for that day.
But OMG--Metamorphosis--That is the stunner. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Can't wait to wear it!
Misery was the book that got me into reading when I was in high school. Before that I hardly read any books on my own, and didn’t care too much about books I did read. That book really showed me what being engrossed by a book is, and I really hadn’t read anything like it before. I credit it for my love of reading. Stephen King is still my “home” author, it always feels good to go back to one of his books. I will always recommend to anyone the Dark Tower series 👍

Absolutely beautiful! I really love this collection! The metamorphosis color reminds me of a color that an indie brand called native warpaints did a couple of years ago. They had a whole collection of different shades that had that smoky copper metallic in it and they were absolutely stunning! That 1 reminds me so much of that collection!

This collection has my heart. All of them are just perfect for me. The dark metallic red is beautiful. Elysium reminds me of the Melt shadow palette acrid yellow ocres. And that metamorphosis. *swoon*

ORLY is my favorite polish. It lasts longer than most. They are great for stamping. I used Metamorphosis and stamped with Dreamers Awake.

I don't care for the grey or the whitish, but the others are just wonderful. Elysian Fields OH MY. It reminds me of the olive salad in a muffaletta (a New Orleans thing, IYKYK).

Soooo I just have to apologize in advance for the “fall” weather here in the southwest… I’m always super jealous of people posting adorable fall nail art with actual fall leaves and/or sweaters… it finally starts to get cooler around October here in Phoenix and the weather is really similar to Vegas. Just prepare to live vicariously through your fall nail art (it’s what I do every year 😂😢😂)
OMG!!! I LOVE YOUUUU! I cancelled my color pass as I love gels. I received an Orly text and saw the colors with gelfx added. I love them all. Today is my Mom's birthday, she passed away from breast cancer. I was at my mammogram and ultrasound appointment when I received the Orly text and needed to wait for your review no see.
Kelliiii thank you for existing and loving books 😭. You mentionned Laini Taylor and I was like "Uh this name sounds familiar" and after some research I remembered that I did read the first two books of the trilogy a while ago (I didn't recognise the name cause in french it is way different lol). But anyway I couldn't read the third book at the time cause the damned editors decided it wasn't worth their money to translate it in french (wtf, right ? 😵). BUT, when I checked 5 mins ago it showed me the third book too ! The editors have changed their minds ! I'm literally crying lol I'm gonna buy it for my birthday, I've been wanting to know the end of the story for so long 😭🥳

Eyyy Daughter of Smoke and Bone! It was what pushed me over the edge into finally going to visit Prague (before the panini)! I recommend that series to anyone into YA fantasy with a darker, more adult tone and it never fails! 🙌🙌🙌

Not ready for it to be fall because that means winter comes after. But I do love Orly polishes, and completely agree with you on this collection’s color story. Will probably get one or two from this collection when it’s actually fall.

I am consistently blown away at the beautiful and unique color collections that Orly puts together. This set of polishes is so different from what I usually go for but I am super excited about them all. I actually can't wait to wear the off white shade, and that metamorphosis color is stunning! Fictional books that impacted me though. . . Fahrenheit 451 and Stranger in a Strang Land are probably my top two for that
Love stop the clock. I like the direction they went with these polishes. It's a great Kickstart for the typical colors with a nice refreshing twist.
I spotted these when placing a order with HB beauty bar, I didn't order any of these yet but I did add them to my collection. I saw checked out OPI fall collection that's also beautiful.

I really like the color story too but the most interesting to me are the non- crème’s. I don’t know why everyone is saying this collection is boring!!! I like it! I also love surrealism and Dali’s persistence of memory!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜
I had to come back and re-watch this one as I’m slowly working my way through wearing this collection and have been wearing Elysian Fields the last few days. I kept looking at it and thinking I bet this is one that Kelli refers to as “ugly pretty” and you did, lol! I don’t think I fully understand what you meant until I wore that one and I definitely agree with you.
Since I saw spoilers on this box I cannot wait to do Ceci N’est Pas Blanc with Gold Flaky Taco from Holo Taco. I feel like it will look like a gold-flecked egg shell.

That off-white is amazing and has THE PERFECT name. Inspired by The Treachery of Images, which is a painting of a pipe under which reads "ceci n'est pas une pipe," 'this is not a pipe.' I think "this is not white" is a clever name for an off-white in a surrealism-inspired collection, and your pronunciation was great!

I loooved this colorpass box! Metamorphosis was the biggest shock to me. I have other "oil slick" looking polishes and they always take 3 to 4 coats. This one was perfection in two, even on my long nails.

I have a dress in these colors. The offwhite color is the base and it's covered in maroon, teal, and gold flowers and leaves. One of my favorites!
