(Rainbow Collection) We usually put little bits of money aside over time and do one big order, as shipping is usually the same regardless of size of order. Not sure if that's an option for you.

My favourite white polish is painted polish blanc slate. I think it's a stamping polish. It's a bit on the thicker side, but two coats gives me the perfect white nails. Loved the video as always! Your personality and love for nail polish is infectious and I'm so happy to have found this little corner of the internet with fellow nail polish fans/fanatics ;)
Gonna have to get the Cirque Colors one. I love their black so much! Kind of a massive bummer that Salon Perfect's white is so milky when their black is so awesome
That's so good to know about good white nail polishes for different situations. It's hard just finding a white that wears well just as a manicure without it being sheer or so thick it's like glue. I also wanted to ask, if you don't mind of course, if you could add what eyeshadow palette or shadows you use in your looks? It's just simply stunning! So glad you included holo taco!! My absolute fav. Cristine said that she makes them thicker so you can add thinner...you can’t make a polish thicker ya know! Love that about the nail polish!
It is a great one! Although fun fact, you can thicken a polish too! Just open the bottle and let it sit (in a well ventilated area) for a few hours! I've done it with a few shades and it works perfectly 😄
Amanda Panda well that is already a fairly thick polish haha it's sheer because there isn't enough pigment in it to make it fully opaque! Thin polishes (like the ORLY one I showed) can also have great opacity, but if you don't like that consistency you could always leave it open to thicken slightly.
Kelli Marissa oh yes I guess I’m thinking about pigment in that case. I’ve found that I don’t like the Orly formula, I only have about 5 of their polishes but I’m just not the biggest fan. Also I bought the Enchanted Star Wars collection and I love there formula! Way thinner and very opaque

the white in my collection is China Glaze's white on white , it's a stark white so i love it, because anything warm reminds me of tipex (which might be what people rever too as white out?)

I have recently got back into nail polish after over-coming a Life-long nail biting habit, & i seem to lean towards bright&light colours which never tend to pop on the nail like they do in the bottle… i am hoping a white base-coat might help, but want to pick a decent one! 🙃

Have you ever tried Nina Ultra Pro? i only have black and white from them but both are super opaque and have the wide flat brush. I've had mine for MANY years (before i really got into nail art) and don't even remember where i got them but i just googled and it looks like it's mostly sold at Sally's and super cheap. I don't know if the formula would still be the same from when i got mine but i really like them!

I was curious if the Starrily white would be in here, I haven’t had the chance to pick it up yet but the black is so good. Have you tried it out? I’ve always had trouble painting white polishes, even Opi alpine snow. I use other super common Opi polishes that are slightly off white, for some reason they level out better for me. I haven’t tried Carpe Diem from Cirque, I’m wondering if the slight gold in there makes that polish better for an all white mani? It’s hard to see on camera.
I've actyay never tried their white! I absolutely should though, I find that almost all of their polishes are one coaters on me (although white in general def has a different formula haha). And even though the shimmer is definitely not visible, I honestly do think that it makes the full white mani look better on Carpe Diem somehow!
Those polishes are all great and I really wanna buy more of Orly, they are just so good 😍😍😍 As far as the paper cuts go, I can feel you! I can be as careful as I want and it still wouldn't be enough and I would also easily end up with more paper cuts like that 🤣
Have you tried lights lacquer paper snow? I'm curious about that one how it compares to holo taco. Not milky white was too hard for me to work with but I haven't put in any thinner yet
My favorite is from Four Seasons (I bought it recently, didn't know this brand exists lol), which is a two coater. The price is about 2$ i think Edit: 14 ml

Hmm, Zoya Snow White has a bit of a jelly-like consistency that can be built up to full coverage! As far as sheer jellies, I don't know of any offhand, but! I am planning a video soon on how to make your own jelly polish!!

I cut off the top of my thumb nail with a huge kitchen knife and had to go to the ER. The Dr told me the nail polish probably saved me from losing the top of my thumb. (He was joking) Getting the polish off HURT. No remover in a cut. OUCH.
I love how objective all these videos are. You’re obvi* a cirque/starrily/salon perfect fan, but you’d never know unless you’ve binged 1000 videos in the last week like I’ve been doing lol. You’re always so positive to all the favorite polishes, point out legitimate pros and cons, and you tell us the price/size so we don’t have to go to the sites and do it ourselves. You really are the best beginner nail art/beginner polish youtuber I’ve found and I’m so glad I did! I’m definitely doing a mini cirque/starrily haul when that next stimulus check comes out if it ever does 😅😅

Kelli Marissa absolutely!!! Even the “worst polishes” video still gave some of them props where they were due. Were not all going to have the same tastes, or polishes don’t work well with our nails so it’s important to talk about it! One thing I’ve had someone tell me but I couldn’t find it anywhere online is that when you first start painting your nails, the polish won’t last as long because your nails aren’t used to holding it. I think Ben kind of alluded to it in last week’s simplypod, that long lasting base works different on non polish wearers vs always polish wearers. If you could do a video talking about the little tips/things that aren’t commonly mentioned like that when you first start doing your nails I think it would be a great addition to your beginner series!

Paper cuts are awful! I work in a medical office that still has paper files. I used to get them all the time before I started wearing gloves pretty consistantly because of Covid. Also, I just wanted to say, thanks for turning me on to HB beauty bar. They have the most awesome customer service. I had two bottles of polish (of the same color which I thought was super weird.) explode on me in shipping... pretty much all i had to do was send them a pic of the damaged product with the order number and item info, and they lickety split sent me out a replacement both times. I just got my first Orly order and omg yeah!! I thought simply’s 15 ml bottles were big but I think Orly’s was 16 or 18 ml!! They were so big! Which is perfect since most the shades I got need 3-4 coats for full opacity so they need more polish 😅
So many people love the essence white nail polish and it is really opaque but it's a bit too thick for my liking and I have a hard time getting it even.
The first white nail polish I bought ever was OPI Alpine Snow and no other white nail polish has ever gotten close for me tbh. I did discover how good Orly is from your channel and I am loving the brand so far.
I agree nothing will compare to Alpine Snow for me! I should give the Orly white a try! I have their French tip white and I love it but the brush is too thin for a full mani haha

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like how thick "not milky white" is. I drove down to Sally's the other day to buy some thinner for it but they were out. Guess everyone is breaking out their old dried up nail polish bottles during this pandemic. 🤷
Which you don't need to do if you are crazy enough to just buy a liter large metal container of ethyl acetate... :D That turned out incredibly lucky too for me when I knocked over an opened nail polish bottle on a synthetic carpet that thankfully was resistant to the solvent (which is usually the main ingredient in polish thinners). I just refill a smaller acetone free nail polish remover bottle every few months from the metal tin, and the reason I go through it so fast is because even though you only need a drop or at most three for thinning a polish, I love nail stamping and not even pure acetone gets the finest metal stamping plate engravings as instantly perfectly clean as the ethyl acetate. Important to always have extremely good supply of fresh air when working with solvents, though.
I really love the Holo Taco results but I actually find most of their formulas a little thick. Still worth it to me for how beautiful it comes out. On the other hand the Orly ones I have bought have been way too watery for me. I’m on the hunt for the happy medium lol.
I really loved the content.....this was by far the best white nail polish comparison / favorites I have seen.... Painting it over black and dimming the lights was the best idea...
I love the Holo Taco polish (New Formula) and, a good dollar/Drug store brand is actually pretty good, the "L.A Colors: Color Craze", for my medium length nails, they are fully opaque in about 2 coats, and have a mediocre drying time :)
Its unfortunate that i am saying this as a massive Holo taco / simply nailogical fan but not milky white is so hard to work with :/ it's streaky and super fast drying so it doesn't self level at all unlike the other holo taco formulas. Still dreaming of the day someone makes the perfect one coat white. I had high hopes that cristine would be the one but unfortunately thats just not the case. Sigh

I’m trying to get more into nail art, though, so it would definitely be nice to have one I can work with. I just got Cirque’s carpe diem, but was a little surprised when I swatched it and it wasn’t as opaque as most of my polishes from them. I haven’t had a chance to actually use it for a look yet, though. I love that they give multiple options for kinds of white Also, I’m curious. Do you ever struggle with white nail polish getting dirty really fast? That was another big issue for me when I did try to use it in the past, but I didn’t use a top coat back then, so idk if that’s all it takes to not have that problem I love your makeup in every single video, and love you and your videos so very much ❤️
Yeah I think just white polish in general tends to have a slightly different formula, but give it a few tries and see how you feel about it! I think you'll get used to the way it works pretty quickly! As far as dirtiness - I think that issue will be fixed by top coat! Sometimes my nails get messy from me doing my makeup but with top coat I can just wipe it off and it doesn't stay stuck to my nail haha!!

I first discovered Alpine Snow in like a mini kit from OPI and I loved it so much I bought the full size of it (and Happy Anniversary lol). I totally agree. What a great nail polish!
I recently replaced all of the brushes in my HoloTaco brushes with slightly wider, flatter brushes. I've only used a few so far, but it's definitely helping. I was finding that I had to use a lot of brush strokes to cover my nails with the original brushes, but the polish dries so quickly that it would just get thick and goopy. I got the brushes here www.indigobananas.com/products/brushes-extras if you're interested. Be warned though, I did have to hot glue them into the caps because the top is a little bit smaller than the og brushes.
I use the Sinful Colours white nail polish. Its very cheap + affordable. I wish I could try out other brands, but I'm only a 12 year old without any money, and no WAY are my parents buying me a 15$ bottle of nail polish. :(
Honestly I use Sinful Colors all the time, they're one of my favorite brands and I use it for almost all my nail art videos! You don't need to spend $15 to have a great manicure, so don't feel like you're missing out :)
I don't know why but I keep messing up applying my Alpine snow, it gets really streaky or too thick in some areas. I've painted on both long and short nails and I still always mess it up D:
Do you roll the polish to thoroughly mix it before application? Been learning some of the polishes I find difficult actually just needed a thorough mixing
@@curateddaisies4128 I don't really roll my polishes but I tend to shake them or hitting the bottles against my palm, I've added a lot of nail thinner to mine though and it got better! It's still a bit thick and streaky so I may need to add more, but I ran out of thinner😂
I went to an education event at Orly in the Los Angeles, CA area and Jeff Pink came in to speak to the group. It was the highlight of the event and he did tell us about how and why the French manicure was invented. We had a tour of the factory and were able to buy any product from any of their lines at a great discount. I also love the polishes and signed up for the Color Pass and got the Desert Muse collection.
@Kelli Marissa have you tried the Holo Taco 'Not Milky White' since it was re-formulated and has the nice wide crème brush? (i find it is nice and self levelling now and use it as a base for a mani when I want white (Currently wearing it 😉)

I love putting it over black. It lets you see that they have slightly different undertones. Almost like a Behr paint swatch stick. So satisfying

Have you ever tried Nina Ultra Pro? i only have black and white from them but both are super opaque and have the wide flat brush. I've had mine for MANY years (before i really got into nail art) and don't even remember where i got them but i just googled and it looks like it's mostly sold at Sally's and super cheap. I don't know if the formula would still be the same from when i got mine but i really like them!
I haven't, I always see them at Sally but I feel like the bottles put me off LOL. I should give them a shot!

Have you tried Maniology and clear jelly stamper nail polishes
I was curious if the Starrily white would be in here, I haven’t had the chance to pick it up yet but the black is so good. Have you tried it out? I’ve always had trouble painting white polishes, even Opi alpine snow. I use other super common Opi polishes that are slightly off white, for some reason they level out better for me. I haven’t tried Carpe Diem from Cirque, I’m wondering if the slight gold in there makes that polish better for an all white mani? It’s hard to see on camera.
I've actyay never tried their white! I absolutely should though, I find that almost all of their polishes are one coaters on me (although white in general def has a different formula haha). And even though the shimmer is definitely not visible, I honestly do think that it makes the full white mani look better on Carpe Diem somehow!
Those polishes are all great and I really wanna buy more of Orly, they are just so good 😍😍😍
As far as the paper cuts go, I can feel you! I can be as careful as I want and it still wouldn't be enough and I would also easily end up with more paper cuts like that 🤣

Jennifer Hernandez same, just be careful with the thinner. I kept adding more and now it’s too thin. I’m sure it will thicken up a little in due time, then I’ll try again.

Hmm, Zoya Snow White has a bit of a jelly-like consistency that can be built up to full coverage! As far as sheer jellies, I don't know of any offhand, but! I am planning a video soon on how to make your own jelly polish!!

I love how objective all these videos are. You’re obvi* a cirque/starrily/salon perfect fan, but you’d never know unless you’ve binged 1000 videos in the last week like I’ve been doing lol. You’re always so positive to all the favorite polishes, point out legitimate pros and cons, and you tell us the price/size so we don’t have to go to the sites and do it ourselves. You really are the best beginner nail art/beginner polish youtuber I’ve found and I’m so glad I did! I’m definitely doing a mini cirque/starrily haul when that next stimulus check comes out if it ever does 😅😅

Kelli Marissa absolutely!!! Even the “worst polishes” video still gave some of them props where they were due. Were not all going to have the same tastes, or polishes don’t work well with our nails so it’s important to talk about it! One thing I’ve had someone tell me but I couldn’t find it anywhere online is that when you first start painting your nails, the polish won’t last as long because your nails aren’t used to holding it. I think Ben kind of alluded to it in last week’s simplypod, that long lasting base works different on non polish wearers vs always polish wearers. If you could do a video talking about the little tips/things that aren’t commonly mentioned like that when you first start doing your nails I think it would be a great addition to your beginner series!

Paper cuts are awful! I work in a medical office that still has paper files. I used to get them all the time before I started wearing gloves pretty consistantly because of Covid. Also, I just wanted to say, thanks for turning me on to HB beauty bar. They have the most awesome customer service. I just got my first Orly order and omg yeah!! I thought simply’s 15 ml bottles were big but I think Orly’s was 16 or 18 ml!! They were so big! Which is perfect since most the shades I got need 3-4 coats for full opacity so they need more polish 😅

Which you don't need to do if you are crazy enough to just buy a liter large metal container of ethyl acetate... :D That turned out incredibly lucky too for me when I knocked over an opened nail polish bottle on a synthetic carpet that thankfully was resistant to the solvent (which is usually the main ingredient in polish thinners). I just refill a smaller acetone free nail polish remover bottle every few months from the metal tin, and the reason I go through it so fast is because even though you only need a drop or at most three for thinning a polish, I love nail stamping and not even pure acetone gets the finest metal stamping plate engravings as instantly perfectly clean as the ethyl acetate. Important to always have extremely good supply of fresh air when working with solvents, though.
Zoya has a very good thinner as well.
I really love the Holo Taco results but I actually find most of their formulas a little thick. Still worth it to me for how beautiful it comes out. On the other hand the Orly ones I have bought have been way too watery for me. I’m on the hunt for the happy medium lol.

I love the Holo Taco polish (New Formula) and, a good dollar/Drug store brand is actually pretty good, the "L.A Colors: Color Craze", for my medium length nails, they are fully opaque in about 2 coats, and have a mediocre drying time :)
Its unfortunate that i am saying this as a massive Holo taco / simply nailogical fan but not milky white is so hard to work with :/ it's streaky and super fast drying so it doesn't self level at all unlike the other holo taco formulas. Still dreaming of the day someone makes the perfect one coat white. I had high hopes that cristine would be the one but unfortunately thats just not the case. Sigh

I’m trying to get more into nail art, though, so it would definitely be nice to have one I can work with. I just got Cirque’s carpe diem, but was a little surprised when I swatched it and it wasn’t as opaque as most of my polishes from them. I haven’t had a chance to actually use it for a look yet, though. I love that they give multiple options for kinds of white
Also, I’m curious. Do you ever struggle with white nail polish getting dirty really fast? That was another big issue for me when I did try to use it in the past, but I didn’t use a top coat back then, so idk if that’s all it takes to not have that problem

Yeah I think just white polish in general tends to have a slightly different formula, but give it a few tries and see how you feel about it! I think you'll get used to the way it works pretty quickly! As far as dirtiness - I think that issue will be fixed by top coat! Sometimes my nails get messy from me doing my makeup but with top coat I can just wipe it off and it doesn't stay stuck to my nail haha!!

I first discovered Alpine Snow in like a mini kit from OPI and I loved it so much I bought the full size of it (and Happy Anniversary lol). I totally agree. What a great nail polish!

I recently replaced all of the brushes in my HoloTaco brushes with slightly wider, flatter brushes. I've only used a few so far, but it's definitely helping. I was finding that I had to use a lot of brush strokes to cover my nails with the original brushes, but the polish dries so quickly that it would just get thick and goopy. I got the brushes here www.indigobananas.com/products/brushes-extras if you're interested. Be warned though, I did have to hot glue them into the caps because the top is a little bit smaller than the og brushes.

I use the Sinful Colours white nail polish. Its very cheap + affordable. I wish I could try out other brands, but I'm only a 12 year old without any money, and no WAY are my parents buying me a 15$ bottle of nail polish. :(
Honestly I use Sinful Colors all the time, they're one of my favorite brands and I use it for almost all my nail art videos! You don't need to spend $15 to have a great manicure, so don't feel like you're missing out :)

I don't know why but I keep messing up applying my Alpine snow, it gets really streaky or too thick in some areas. I've painted on both long and short nails and I still always mess it up D:

Do you roll the polish to thoroughly mix it before application? Been learning some of the polishes I find difficult actually just needed a thorough mixing
@@curateddaisies4128 I don't really roll my polishes but I tend to shake them or hitting the bottles against my palm, I've added a lot of nail thinner to mine though and it got better! It's still a bit thick and streaky so I may need to add more, but I ran out of thinner😂
I went to an education event at Orly in the Los Angeles, CA area and Jeff Pink came in to speak to the group. It was the highlight of the event and he did tell us about how and why the French manicure was invented. We had a tour of the factory and were able to buy any product from any of their lines at a great discount. I also love the polishes and signed up for the Color Pass and got the Desert Muse collection.

@Kelli Marissa have you tried the Holo Taco 'Not Milky White' since it was re-formulated and has the nice wide crème brush? (i find it is nice and self levelling now and use it as a base for a mani when I want white (Currently wearing it 😉)
