1. Is all discipline negative? No. There is formative, corrective and pre-emptive
2. What is Church discipline? "Corrective discipline is what people refer to.
3. What does the bible say about the practice of Church Discipline? Heb 12:5-12; Mt. 18:15-17; 1 Cor 5:1-13; Gal. 6:1; Eph. 5:11; Titus 3:10; 2 Thess. 3:14-15).
4. What for? With what purpose? Is never to be done out of meanness of spirit, but our of love and the glory of God: a) the good of the individual; restore the fallen. (b) for the good of others; caution. (c) The health of the church as a whole. (d) The Corporate witness of the church in society. (e) A powerful tool for evangelism.
5. What if we don't practice church discipline? Discipline is part of what it means to be a church.
