I wash my handknits about once a year. My cotton and linen garments are cleaned more often. Wool is pretty good with airings or laying in the snow for a few hours. It takes a lot to make a wool sweater smell bad. 😂
I really enjoyed sock week! Now I’m in a sock mood. 🧦 I worked on a pair for my husband while watching. When I’m not watching TH-cam while knitting, I’m listening to audio book House of Sky and Breath. Thanks for a perfectly cozy video. ❤
I often rotate between what I watch/listen to while knitting too! between podcasts, vlogs, audiobooks, or a mindless show (like reality tv where you don’t have to pay close attention 🤣)
finishing up my leftover sock week projects while watching this, I loveee a good body doubling/ parallel play moment. The arctic lights sweater is STUNNING. I admire your determination to finish it, cabling is absolutely my weakness.
soo fun, thank you for unraveling with me again 🥰🧶 it’s so comforting to knit & watch knitting videos simultaneously! thank you!! cabling is my ultimate comfort, colorwork is my weak area 🥲
What a cosy vlog on a cold Melbourne’s night 😊 At the beginning of the vlog I was working on a test knit and now I am weaving in ends 😂 I have been reading The time traveler’s wife book you have recommended and I am enjoying it 😊 Enjoy the sunny days ☀️
so happy we could finish some projects & weave some ends in together 🪡 I am soo glad you are reading it, hope you love it as much as I did! happy reading and knitting x
Loved this cozy vlog! I'm working on the Moby Slipover while watching. Thanks to you I REALLY want to knit the Arctic Light sweater!! OMG yours is gorgeous!!
i love your hat. two things that helped me with stranded knitting was knitting it inside out, so the floats don't get a tight tension that way, and also one of those ring thing gadgets so i can keep the yarn on the hand i usually hold the yarn on. atm i'm knitting arctic light and just finished my first shawl.
OMGGGG I just found your channel and can I just say, I AM IN LOVE!!!!! I haven't seen any other knitting podcasts set up the way yours is. I love how you incorporate both reading and knitting which are my two favorite hobbies and obsessions. You giving all of the important information first , then plenty of b-rolll and then updates along the way giving such a unique set up and I'm all here for it! I will be following up on all your videos to come! Keep doing what you're doing because it's a nice refresh :)
omg thank you SO much, this is so validating!! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed!! when I am editing I can definitely doubt myself & the format especially when I accidentally talk for 10 minutes followed by like 10 minutes of vlog footage 😅🫶🏻 so your feedback & words of encouragement were so needed & valued! thank you so much for your support!! 🌞
Good morning, thanks for another fun episode. I gave you a shout out in my last video. I wash my sweaters once a year before I store them in my cedar chest for the summer months. The only time I wash in between is if I get food or spill something on my handknits, which is a rare event. Also I have spot washed the cuffs of a white sweater. Happy knitting 🧶 ❤
Regarding second sock syndrome, I knit both cuffs at the start and put one on hold. Already having the cuff done and ready to go has really worked for me. ❤️
definitely needed the pep talk 🥲 over the course of this video i started out by trying to puzzle out where i went wrong in a knit that i was trying to "prioritize" before the end of US summer and decided it was a problem for later, switching to a fall/winter comfort knit instead with a little bit of guilt. (also by thepetiteknitter, the siksik sweater!) so the reminder to stop putting rules around my hobbies was extremely timely!
I’ve just found your podcast. I love all your products, I now want to make that hat & jumper. I’ve just got to get through a few wips first. I’m currently working on my mussleburgh hat while I watch this x
All your knits are beautiful! You said you struggle with colorwork knitting, but I think it looks great! I might try that beanie pattern. You put together a really high quality vlog, and I really enjoy the style of it. Thanks for all the time you put in to it! ❤
omg thank you, so glad you find comfort here 🥰 ahh love that for you, almost there!!! I only have a bit more on my buttonband & then the pockets for my book club cardigan… but I ran out of yarn 😭 waiting on my shipment of more before I can finish!
This video popped up on my home feed and I'm so glad I clicked, super cozy vibe. I'm working on my first Ripple camisole by Jessie meade while watching and also currently reading circe by Madeline Miller 😊
Hey! Love your video! If you want a little piece of advice for the tension, personally, when there are designs with different threads, I'm knitting on the underside of my knitwear, so that I don't put too much tension while I'm changing threads. Have a nice day :)
hi, morgan! i've been watching your vlogs for a lil while. i love listening to you talking about your projects while i cook or knit myself. ☺i was wondering, which was your first knitting project? maybe you've mentioned it before, so sorry if you have! greetings from uruguay 🤎
hi thank you for watching!! 🥰🫶🏻 I crocheted for a few years before trying knitting and I think that helped me pick it up easier. I learned on a few swatches & lots of watching Nimble Needles along the way. I also worked on a baby onesie I ended up frogging but my first project was the folklore cardigan! which was a huge undertaking but was my motivation for learning the craft. it took me a year of putting it down & picking back up so I finished some other things along the way that also helped me learn more & fall in love with the process & craft - some baby sweaters etc! 🧺🧶
New channel to me, instantly subscribed (books and knitting, of course)! I'm currently working on a very bright green Darling Cardigan by Kutovakika. Can't tell yet if I like the color or not, but oh well?? It is still looking cute. Love the video!
aw yay so glad you found comfort in unraveling with me & chose to stick around 🌞🥰 I want to make the Darling Cardigan as well, I really love Kika’s designs & channel! I bet it’s lovely xx
so happy to hear that, I need to pick it back up & finish, I’ve been knitting more than I’ve been reading the past week or two! that pattern looks beautiful!🌞
thank you for watching 🥰 I went to the Canberra wool expo and picked up some local hand dyed sock yarn from Blackwattle Alpaca Farms but I wanted to knit up the yarn I brought before casting on the new yarn!🧶
@@morganunraveled porcelain is finished 😬 currently in the 4 day blocking / drying process haha! I’m working on a rib top by my favourite things knitwear, it’s pretty slow to progress tho 🙃🤍🤍
@@heidibirkby omg what!!! can’t believe you finished it! can’t wait to see it 🤍 that sounds so fun, I plan to knit a camisole by her soon too, for summer!!
your editing is so good 👌😍 I've been binge-watching Criminal Minds, which means I haven't been reading loads lately 🙈 but seeing all those cute socks on my feed has made me want to pick up my unfinished sock that I cast on last November ☺
I always love seeing a new video from you! I am working on my willow pullover test knit for andrea gaughan and currently reading west with giraffes by lynda rutledge :)
ahhh this is the kindest comment!! that made me so happy to hear 🥹💗 both sound so fun & beautiful!! hope you are enjoying some cozy time with your knits & book 🧶 thank you for unraveling with me 🥰
honestly, I rarely wash my sweaters after the blocking process unless there is an immediate need to, like I've spilled something on a garment. My handknit socks on the other hand are washed religiously
We are Canadians living in Australia, my daughter was born on the Summer Solstice and she was so bummed when we moved here and now her Birthday is in Winter and on the shortest day of the year to boot!
thank you for watching & sharing your story Nadine!! oh poor hun, that’s such a big, tough adjustment! I hope she is settled into life down under xx luckily my son is only 2 so I don’t think he feels the transition as much as we do, but I know he’ll be very happy when there are warm sunny days to play outside more! what part of Australia are you living in? 🇦🇺
