i dont think buying the two skeins to finish the sweatshirt was cheating! u said it urself u r allowed to buy yarn if you know exactly what youre using it for. Plus, its annoying but sometimes to use up your yarn stash to create the exact project you want you have to buy more of the same yarn. Thats what you had to do to make your yarn stash smaller. Its definitely counterintutitive but you did do it
This is the way I look at it, if buying a few skeins of yarn allows you to use more yarn from your stash it's a justified expense. I know I struggle with this but if it means being able to complete the project and have it be a wearable or useable item then then buying the yarn to complete it is no big deal.
It's difficult to use yarn you bought without a project in mind. I learned the hard way to be more mindful of this when purchasing yarn; started making a beanie out of a one off skein I bought, ran out of yarn at the top, and couldn't get more because it was discontinued lol. I ended up trying to finish it with a different yarn and it was very ugly. I think you did awesome and loved the look of the cropped turtle neck
girlfriend I have like 400+ balls of yarn around my house, please don't feel bad! I haven't bought yarn in years because of this but I def went overboard at one point. slowly working through all of them!
omg i love that pink sweater!!! You seriously ate that!!! It reminds me a lot of what japanese knitwear designers are doing to incorporate pastel kawaii fashion with knit and mixed textiles!!! :D
Girl buying two more rolls of yarn isn’t cheating that’s what I doing now also your your projects are beautiful I just followed your Etsy shop as well ❤
I'm in love with the sweater you made, it's so inspiring to me. The pearls look INCREDIBLE in the close up shot. I'm really interested in making a scrappy sweater now.
I think the rainbowy-pink sweater top is sooo cute!! It looks really artsy and soft! And your boyfriend is right, it does give off fairy-vibes. Very very cute! And most of all, good job on working on it to the end. I'm sure it was quite the process. I'm so glad you didn't unravel it all or something. :)
Not you feeling bad about 100 when I have hundreDS! 💀 I just view it as a collection I'm proud to have and brings me joy 💕 I know we all have different goals though, but don't be too hard on yourself
With the bags don't scrap them. sew a button in the center top of one side and then sew a loop in the center top of the other side and then it will still close and they will be finished and you can sell them!
The fairy sweater is AMAZING!! With the pearls and the knitting/crochet and the colors, I think you created a Pinterest masterpiece 🧚 Love the black sweater as well, looks so professional as always! The patience you have to do this 😭 I’m happy the fabric was usefull even though the projects didn’t work 😅 Mixing crochet and sewing is super difficult, I don’t even talk about the zipper it’s a nightmare in itself to use 😂 I really love the orange one, the colors are so good together!! Thank you for this amazing video! I finished a project while watching ❤❤❤
this really reminded me of retro claude's series. we're also currently tryna work through our stash cos i am OVERWHELMED. The pink cropped jumper really reminds me of the old brand Groovy Chick from the 90s (unrelated, but you really remind me of Eve Myles)
This video was so Nice! Hope you make this into a series (if that is something you want ofcourse) i had a good and chill time watching. I also need to make one of those bags you made for nr 1🤩
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this, your personality and your thought process are both wonderful, eccentric and unique in the best possible way! I hadn't watched anything from you before but so glad I stumbled across you, so I have subscribed now! I found you so relatable and you made me feel much better about the way I approach different projects I'm working on, the reasons I buy certain yarn, the way we can be so invested and enjoying making something but then feel differently about it later, all of that and more! Thanks so much for taking us along the journey, really enjoyed all of it! :)
the eyebrow piercing looks so cute on you!! Also omg adding the pearls to the mohair... I commend you for your patience omg... also also I was your 600th subscriber hehe
I just found your channel and i am definitely subbing! The black sweater is sooo cute! Btw it would be really amazing if you could make this into a series, because it's super fun to see the progress.
I think every creator goes through this - I love it - I kinda like it - is this even nice - I don't like it - 😅😅😅 so the solution I apply is to take a break, look at the big picture, I really like the multicolor sweater!!! Personally I really loved the first version (turtle neck + raglan ) because I'm very basic in my knitting so watching you explore and try many things was fun!
I'm also trying to use up my stash, before purchasing any more. The way I'm viewing it is. If I need to complete a project that I really want to finish, then I'll buy the yarn to complete, if I don't know how much extra I'll need. Then I'll wait till I have knitted all the yarn I have for that project, and see how much further I've got, then I'll buy 1 or 2 skeins. Same if I need a different yarn to work with a skein or mohair/kid-silk, and I don't have a suitable yarn already in stash. My thinking is; if it will help reduce stash by using it with a stashed yarn for a project, then I'm good to go ahead with the purchase.
119 opportunities that is how I see it, I love this journey! I started with 160 and I'm now at 120 and love this process, I also had to buy here and there so that I could finish the projects 😅
i feel you on having too much yarn.. my stash will last me forever. for putting on the pearls or any other beads, if you have a smaller crochet hook that would fit the pearls on the hook makes it way easier to add them on to the yarn, i think i used like a 0.75 or 0.5 hook!
I think it’s ok to buy yarn if you need to finish a project. Your motive is to only buy yarn with intention to use it and that’s what you did. For the pearls, I know some people will add the beads to the yarn before they start a project. That way they don’t need to worry about weaving it in. It’s time consuming, especially if you’re not sure how many beads you will need.
I saw another video that addressed the stretchy purse straps by crocheting an elastic into the straps. She crocheted around the strap to hide it in the stitches. It gave the straps some stability and stopped it from stretching further when you start using the purse.
I know that this is waaaay late, but were you listening to a podcast of Dungeons and Dragons, or is your boyfriend playing? Super adorable sweater and I think you can get two skeins of yarn without judgement to finish a project
They are the milward crochet hooks! I got them from Vibes and Scribes (www.vibesandscribes.ie/products/crochet-hook-set-6pcs-soft-grip-rubber-handles.html) but I'm pretty sure they are also on Amazon 😊😊
Of course you had to buy the yarn to finish the pullover! You like it, will wear it, didn't have the same kind of yarn at home to make it stripy and at the beginning you said that you are aloud to buy yarn if you know what you'll do with it. Don't beat yourself up too much, the person who pluged your eyebrows already did 🤭

Omg please make a series out of this it’s so cool to see the creative process of not knowing what to do with your yarn to having a finished project!!

I LOVE your vibe. I’m so glad I found you in the sea of fiber artists on TH-cam! So excited to watch more in the future.
It's sooooo nice to find an Irish crocheter online, hearing familiar names like deals😂 just started myself and I've no idea where to buy my yarn

I'm obsessed with the pink sweater
16:35 I am way too excited about the fact that there is D&D being played in the background!

So true! Taking breaks work wonders sometimes 😁

The sweater is beautiful!
I love the sweater! So fun and pastel!
119 opportunities that is how I see it, I love this journey!
I started with 160 and I'm now at 120 and love this process, I also had to buy here and there so that I could finish the projects 😅
I've been using what is called a waistcoat for straps. It's pretty compact and so works out well.
Don't be so hard on yourself, buying yarn to finish a project is fine! 😊
“I don’t have any projects for them, I just thought they looked nice” - the truth behind my entire yarn stash. 😆🥰
Omg what spotted yarn are you using to make the pink sweater?
i feel you on having too much yarn.. my stash will last me forever. for putting on the pearls or any other beads, if you have a smaller crochet hook that would fit the pearls on the hook makes it way easier to add them on to the yarn, i think i used like a 0.75 or 0.5 hook!
buying some yarn to finish projects that take yarn out of your stash is totally valid!
What cast on are you using when you started the pink sweater? It looks so neat!
I did the same exact type of video (using up my yarn stash) and we uploaded almost the same day!! Just subscribed since we are upload twins 💃
And I almost had the same situation of needing to buy more and I was so stressed about it! It's the worst situation
my guess is that the purple that wouldn't dry is pima cotton! i had some shiny soft green cotton from concept by katia that looked quite similar
When i do thermal stitch i size down my hook, ive found its not as stretchy and holds its shape pretty well.
I saw them in Dealz as well. Was tempted to buy.
I don’t think getting more yarn to finish a project is cheating. You’re using what you bought and not adding to the stash so not cheating. No guilt ❤
I think it’s ok to buy yarn if you need to finish a project. Your motive is to only buy yarn with intention to use it and that’s what you did.

27:56 omg I literally have that same crochet hook I think
Where did you get the glasses?
I saw another video that addressed the stretchy purse straps by crocheting an elastic into the straps. She crocheted around the strap to hide it in the stitches. It gave the straps some stability and stopped it from stretching further when you start using the purse.
Oh I need to try that! That's a good idea 😊
I love icord for bag straps I used a diy dolly knitter for bigger yarn
Girl that's not embarrassing! I have like 300! Now THAT'S embarrassing lol
WHAT are your glasses please share I am SO in love with them
Link for the glasses please 😂
Good idea with giving away yarn. Makes sense to me 😊
I know that this is waaaay late, but were you listening to a podcast of Dungeons and Dragons, or is your boyfriend playing? Super adorable sweater and I think you can get two skeins of yarn without judgement to finish a project
Hi! new here. For some reason I LOVE the look of your hook! What brand is it? Where did you get it?
Keep up the great work! :)
They are the milward crochet hooks! I got them from Vibes and Scribes (www.vibesandscribes.ie/products/crochet-hook-set-6pcs-soft-grip-rubber-handles.html) but I'm pretty sure they are also on Amazon 😊😊
Thank you!! ❤
that purple yarn looks like juniper moon farm cumulus!
Hearing DND in the background made me giggle 😂
Take apart the Granny square bags and make a pillow cover with the squares....
Oh that's a good idea! 😄
Was inspired by you to count my yarn and I got 427 skeins😭 how am I ever going to fix that😭😂
Of course you had to buy the yarn to finish the pullover! You like it, will wear it, didn't have the same kind of yarn at home to make it stripy and at the beginning you said that you are aloud to buy yarn if you know what you'll do with it. watching this while knitting sweater #3 out of about 25 to get my yarn stash down... help
I WISH I only had 119😂 that would be so much less than I have now
buy it still destashing your yarn as you will be using it
give the trans fairy their sweater back
holy crap you look like Winona Ryder!
