Great video, this is a rig I want to try locally on clean, shallow beaches.

It's lovely for close in when nothings biting.

Hi there and thanks for the interesting videos!
I think it would be amazing if you could add in your rig videos an introduction to the rationale of using the rig (tide movements/ground/species targeted) and also why you would chose the rig rather than another (e.g in this video... why would you use urferig rather than a 2 hook flapper rig or a running ledger rig?).
    Cheers!

Thank you Andrea! I'm glad that you have enjoyed the video.
I am pleased that you have offered feedback and just so you know, it is very valued😁
Seeing as we're on the subject. The URFE is usually used in summer months as the water tends to be a bit clearer, hence the use of a small diameter trace, in theory it's harder for fish to see. The long trace and plain lead allow the tide to give movement to your baits attracting more fish.... Hopefully😉
It is mainly a clean ground rig as its used for slow retrieves, but can be used on medium ground as well. A 2 hook flapper is above the lead, making it almost stationary, where as the hooks below the lead can move more freely😁
However, it's really up to the angler how they want to use it. I've used it on ocassion on medium ground without any issue.
Please let me know if there's anything else I can approve on, honestly it is appreciated!!

How the hell if you're casting from a beach do you stop it from tangling??

    • @Anglingaddict75

Lay the whole thing behind you like an OTG cast, you also have to remember it's not designed for the 200yd cast 😉

I can't say I've used this rig very often, the main reasons being I found it only really suitable over clean ground and it was a s**t to cast with the long body !!!

This is true, it does present as a clean ground rig, mainly used for slow retrieve and if the body is "too" long casting CAN be a pain. I think 8' would be ideal.
