Two stroke 500cc’s in mental conditions being handled by humans. And no one came off. SO GOOD! Shows you how different MotoGP is now. So many injuries this season. Is it going in the right direction? … Thanks for uploading this. So glad it appeared in my feed.

What a miserable day that was. I spent all day sat under a huge golf umbrella at Club shivering, my abiding memory was of a guy with his helmet perched on top of his head making his way, one step at a time, up the long, steep muddy bank next to us holding on to two plastic pints of beer for dear life. Biggest cheer of the day from the crowd when he made it to the top.

Coldest day I can remember riding home soaked to the skin. I was riding through puddles of water as it was actually warmer than me.

And they got no turbo, that takes a while speeding up, and then suddenly surprises you with a spinning rear wheel? Lucky riders.

@@stu9stu9stuyea, so glad that the organizers finally came to their senses and eliminated push starts- not sure what year that was though, but I know they finally changed the starting procedure after someone in the 250 class almost died after being hit from behind

@@pasko59000 yea, that and few other things as well- I was lucky enough to race a TZ750 for 2 seasons ('80 and '81 in the AMA Formula one series, and it was more of just having respect for the bike rather than having big balls, (although that was a big part of the equation) because it you got it wrong, it got very ugly pretty quickly-

Thanks for posting the 1985 British Grand Prix! I was stationed in UK USAF. We would have ridden our bikes to see the race but we didnt want to get wet. Good thing we stayed home. It was a miserable race raining cats and dogs! I remember like it was yesterday..thanks for the memories

Atrocious conditions and amazing bike control on view! What a fabulous commentary from Murray Walker with Barry Sheene adding his expertise. The insight and clarity they brought to all of us that watched such races on TV shouldn't be underestimated.
