How much are the plans? No one addresses Price????
Ive been using Covert cameras for years, but recently, two of the new model (now the only model they sell with real time photo capability) has problems. Battery life measured in days, leaking seal on door, randomly going off line requiring a HARD restart in the field (remove batteries, reinsert). So far Covert has not owned up to problems with this model. If they don’t, and don’t get me working cams, I’m going to dump my entire account with them (10 cameras). Looking for a replacement so thanks for the review.
I want to use tacticam I have a straight talk phone will it work and if not what cell cam can I use straight talk phones use Verizon towers that’s why I’m curious
The pricing plans say they don’t include Hd photos or videos? What’s the gimmick here? What do they charge extra for you to download those?

TactaSCAM! They charge you for anything and everything. 5$ for 50 hd pics oh you want hd video how about $5 for 50 of those. Such trash. I hoped for more. Got over $200 in this damn camera already. DO NOT BUY

Just purchase the XB and I have a solar panel coming in for it, so I have no idea have the solar panel will work on it, but the pictures are awesome!
Went through stealth cam and a MoultrieMobile cell cam and have been having nothing but problems. Gonna have to buy this one!

I'm using Rayovac alkaline batteries since 10-28-20, still going strong, at 50% now, both of my Tatacams are working great, I'm impress, 2 other hunters got 7 weeks before battery died, they were set up on feeders getting lots of pics all night long, I aimed my camera off to the side of my feeder so I don't get a butt load of racoon pics, today is 12-21-20

I’ve been impressed with my reveal camera also. I own 4 brands of cellular cameras and Tactacam is the brand I will build on.
One of the reasons the battery life is good is because it takes a whopping 12 batteries! That’s a lot.
Are these cameras better then the brownings cell cam?
I really want to like Tactacams but they are just 3 star cams at best. Put any brand cam you want under, over, next too your Tactacam and you will get 3 times as many pics vs the Tactacam. I have four gen 1's and four gen 2's. The rechargeable packs are even worse than the cams. I get more pics out of Alkaline batteries vs the rechargeable packs. I do like the solar panels. No I'm not inexperienced with trail cams. I've been using trail cams since they literally had a camera flash. I typically use 10 to 15 cams throughout the year. All said and done I like being able to look at pics when I want so that's why I put up with the subpar performance. This is my honest opinion for whatever it's worth.
Solid review. Overall we like them quite a bit, mostly for the price point. Hard to justify some of the more expensive 200 dollar plus ones and then also pay the subscription fees. Have you ever tried any of the spartan cell cams?
I run 4 reveals. 1 first gen, 2 X's and an SK. I pay for the minimum data package for all 4 which comes out to $20 per month total ($5 each). You can't beat these for the price of the camera and data prices. There are better quality cell cameras that take better pictures and videos but not at this price point. The X seems to take better videos than the SK but the SK has the lipo battery pack and solar panel. I've had my SK out for 5 months including below 0 temps and battery is still at 70% in very limited sunlight.
Good to know. Been thinking about getting some of those so I don't have to deal with batteries as much. I agree. Best value overall is the tactacams. Thanks for the comment
Hey man I have a question for you. I know you have the beginner plan from info you gave. Is the picture quality still goo even though it’s not hd?

Does the camera have sound on videos?
Yes it does and it's pretty good. I think the brownings I run probably have a little better HD sound but I've been happy with the Tactacam

I’ve been looking at purchasing my first cell camera, Is there a reason your not using a solar panel charger?
I might at some point. Just didn't want to spend the money really. Seems like 2 sets of batteries get me through as long as I want to run them usually. But very well might go the solar route at some point with the cost of batteries going nuts like everything else
Buy the case they offer it makes it tougher to break into it’s made of steel and locks out the entire cam
Does the videos get sent to your phone, as well as the pictures? Or does just the pictures get sent?

I have several of the Reveal X's now. This one in the video is the original Reveal which they don't make anymore. I've been happy with the X's. Haven't tried the SK but I believe those come with some extra accessories. Been finding them consistently at Scheels in Overland Park KS
The XB is the best performance to price, its basically the Sk without the extras

How long do your batteries last?
A good price but in Canada their $159 on sale from 179.
Whatever you do,don't recommend those batteries.Use only Energizer Lithiums.

I use rayvac batteries and they last 6 weeks with immediate upload and over 150 pics a day
So say a guy has U.S. Cellular for a carrier, now does that matter or will they still work just fine?
I live in an area hwere easy removal will facilitate a missing camera. Can this be used with a python lock like my Primos???

I believe you can, but am not totally sure. Would have to check the manual which I have stashed somewhere

Looks similar in design to the Reconyx hyperfine at 1/4 the price. It's been a year since you posted this review. Are they still working for you in the field? Any problems so far?

Thanks for the follow up! Still working great and bought 3 more of the Tactacam Reveal X's! The Reveal X's appear to send higher quality photos to your phone. Only issue I had with one of the original reveals was moisture getting in the lens and staying there even when the weather was hot and sunny. Don't know what happened but I put the camera in a bag full of those silica packets for a couple of days and that seems to have done the trick.
a whole lot better battery life than spypoint. on the same amount of pics, i can put fresh energizer lithiums in and i live 30 mins away from my hunting area and by the time i get home it will be already down to 75% and youll change batteries out once every 2 weeks. absolute terrible cameras that cost the same or more than the reveal.
What kind of Batt life is it getting?
Was getting 2-3 months in the fall. Extreme cold temps killed them pretty fast. We had record cold in Missouri. Theyve been doing great since end of February
the cell fee is way out of line. Others charge way less. Like Cuddybacks are initially super expensive but the cell fee is TEN BUCKS for all your cams NOT each. One catches up with another right quick. My 10 cams would be 121 dollars a month to run wit reveals. Since I use cams year round to view my property as security also it would kill my wallet over time. I guess a 3 year break even may seem long to some and if only running 3 months a year cheaper is better.

We have both verizon and att cameras. Not sure if they offer more than those two
