Which Tactacam Reveal Model is Best FOR YOU?

- After owning all the models of Tactacam Reveal trail cameras. I compared what I liked and disliked about the Reveal X, Reveal X Gen 2, Reveal SK and Reveal XB. So far all have held up in some severe weather conditions and temperatures. Each particular camera has its drawback and upside. Hopefully this video will help you decide which camera will work best for you!

Great review brother. very detailed and a real straight no BS opinion on them!
No BS on this channel!!!
Great review Cody, thanks for doing this.
Thank you, my pleasure
Except you forgot to mention that they'll die within a year. Customer service won't honor the warranty. Joe, you're throwing your money away when you buy these if you actually plan to use them.
@jwdundon well, 3 years later mine are still going, been outside over 900 days. Not saying your experience isn't different. But that's mine. I ain't gonna lie about a product. If it sucks it sucks, I've had decent luck with mine, but customer service does lack, on that we can agree
You explained those cameras very well my friend!!
Good, If I would have known I would probably have just bought the X and saved some cash. Hopefully it helps someone else out!
Yeah great review except in the real world they get wet. They short out they die. Customer service won't give you new camera. Horrible. Do not buy one unless you're a millionaire and like throwing your money away.
Enjoyed the review Cody! I think the Gen 2 is the way to go 🙂🇺🇸🔥👍
So far, for what I do. Yup.
Nice review and comparison.
Really enjoy trail cameras
I would like to get one before the November deer opener for sure. The gen 2 seems alright
Yup. It'll work well.
I really liked your video. Thanks for posting it. Have you ever had any trouble with water getting inside? I’ve seen some reviews on it. Some people said it was antenna not being tight 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly, mine have been left out for almost a year now with temp ranges from 85 degrees to -35 degrees. No water issues as of yet. I did always double check the antenna tightness
great review
Thank You sir!
Great review!
Thank you! Which one would you choose
@@After5Outdoorsneither, why don't you do a follow-up review showing that they're all freaking dead?????!!!! And how horrible customer service is.
Do the no glow spook less deer at night ?
Gen X2 you can also hook up a external power pack up to 14 volts DC
14 volts or 12 volts? Most cameras will take 12 volt external battery packs.
I am struggling to connect to a UK carrier. I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you for your helpful videos.
@@greenmoss From what I understand, it's gotta be Verizon or AT&T
Isn’t the gen one the one with this lcd screen in the door
I purchased a tactical Reveal XB trail cam and I am very disappointed. Send it in for repair and they sent it back saying that it was not repairable looking at the camera. I decided I had nothing to lose so I decide if I could see if I can get it open well to my surprise when I did find the screws the screw holes were packed full of crap which tells me nobody open the camera without seeing it in for repair.
I didn't like the XB either

The SK solar panel on it , does it works well and does it keep the battery pack charged?
The SK panel has been running mine for quite awhile without issue. I don't run a battery in mine
Be nice for security at my cabin but I doubt I could get a signal. Those solar panels are very cool!
Solar panels are awesome for this application...
I have the GEN One revealed X. How do you get it to take a video? I can’t seem to figure it out and no one seems to have an answer.
On the gen 1 Reveal X, you simply go into the menu after connecting your phone. In the menu there will be pic/video at the top of the menu, select video and it should work
If you still have trouble send me an email and I will try help you furthur
This vid is a year old but i just bought an SK at Bass Pro a month ago. Discontinued?
Yes they are. They still work though
Do any of these cameras allow you to take a manual picture from the app without it being triggered on its own?
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so,
@@After5Outdoors thanks it be a nice option I think especially if you have it placed over large plots of fields to see what is beyond the trigger detection
I agree but unfortunately the price would go up...
Yes it does ! It’s called “on demand capture”
Is there a new camera taking over for the reveal sk? And what store did you find the reveal sk at?
I think the tactacam pro replaced it. I saw them at Scheels earlier this fall
@After5Outdoors well that's disappointing. I enjoyed the small package until with the solar panel on it. Now to get that your in the $280 range with a bulky solar panel
Tactacam makes a panel that's $60. So if you went with the X2 and the panel you would still be under $200, and with better quality pics and daytime video, in my opinion. And you don't have to buy batteries
@@After5Outdoors does the x2 come with a lithium battery pack for the camera?
It does not, but the solar panel has an internal battery. I have 6 of them, they keep the camera powered 24-7 even in our brutal winters
You said it will pick up to 96 feet I can’t get mine to pick up at 20 feet. What do I have set incorrectly? And I get probably 100 photos a day of nothing. They’re just landscape pictures but when I check my feeder, the corn is gone but no pictures of deer at the feeder.
A few things to check, brush, grass or branches in the area, that wind could blow to trip your camera, is it a clear view to your feeder from your camera
@@After5Outdoors extremely clear. Day and night.
What are your sensitivity settings set to?
@@After5Outdoors I’ve tried 3,5,7,9.. and I get the same results, about 1-3 photos every minute sometimes..I put it to 0 during the day just to stop the photos from coming..
Hmm...which model do you have
Do they record sound?
Yes
im willing to pay a little more for the no glow an gps features thats just me
I'm up in the air about the no glo, personally the GPS feature doesn't help me at all.
@@After5Outdoors i like the gps if someone takes your camera you might be able to get it back with the no glow it seems like i get more pic of bigger bucks than with out the red flash
@@juniorb931 sure! It just depends on where you put them out. It's illegal to put them on public land in Minnesota. So all mine are on private with literally no risk of theft. Enjoy the conversation! Appreciate ya
