Some of these machines were almost unbelievable, especially the speed. The feller, limber, cutter combination machine was fantastic. The trackhoe mounted grinder that would start at the top, and turn a whole, fair sized tree into sawdust, down to below the ground level, in just a few seconds, was fantastic, also. The giant, steel beaver tooth looking tool, that knawed off stumps, while maybe not fantastic, was very interesting. I have never seen that before. I will say that it probably was a lot less expensive than the grinders, and did take a little more time, but did a good job. Great video. Thanks.

Not a scary liberal tree hugger, but I live in Alabama with 85% tree cover hardwoods in the northern Appalachians, and billions of Pines in the Pine level area south of Montgomery. Are they clearing just to be clearing? Are they actually using these trees to benefit society? Many of these trees, especially those in the most northern areas are much slower growing, but all trees clean the Co-2 from the air and via their day to night life cycle produce oxygen most needed for all of us. Great machines, but note how many parking lots and worthless shopping centers are going up while the same number sit idle with no tenets and/or 50% vacant. Just wondering how the planet will look in 100 years with such machines, while mother nature may take 100+ years to produce large stands of hardwoods and even Pines in the northern part of the U.S., Canada, etc. I live on a mountain too and love our hardwoods and Pines....
Yes we are. I'm 53 years old have logged the same patch if timber 3 times. We only take th3 biggest and infested trees. I live in southern Indiana. We only clear cut diseased and infected trees. I've seen in last 8 years over 12,000 acres replanted. Loggers not only cut timber but we do what we can to preserve it to.

When you're a tree hugger and you've chained and locked yourself to the tree then threw away the key, what do you do when you see one of these machines coming?
I wonder what the cost of that tree harvesting machine is, does a very fast job of falling and liming and cutting to size on one operation. Machine like that would pay for its self if you had a lot of small to medium size timber to harvest. Also looks like the the Ground would have to be fairly flat for this machine to move around. This would not work in a Mountainous Terrain or steep hillsides where a lot of the really big timber is harvested in Oregon and Washington, USA.
