why do so many people make having a man/woman such a big deal? I personally believe the church talks entirely too much about being married and not enough time with discipling people when they are single. Just as much development needs to be put towards being single as it is towards being married.

I'm not trying to sound cynical this is just my belief from observation and personal experience over the years. If we get it together when we are single there is less of a chance of one having a dysfunctional ungodly marriage. This is why so many people have a negative view of marriage. If we'd just take care of the baggage when we're single it can make things a lot easier.

But God wants us to seek Him before the rest & in so being reliant on Him & learning His ways, we gain peace that doesn't meet our human logic. I think getting involved in a grow group or a community of like-minded individuals would be very beneficial in your walk. It has helped me tremendously aside from therapy, mentors, & a life coach.

  • @swtor20

After reading these comments, I can only be a little disappointed guys. This is whats wrong with christians today, they hear something, feel something, been taught something and they hold onto it for so long. Then they come to the God's word expecting to find it in there, and when they can't find it in there, they read it in and cram it into a passage.
Accept it, the concept of a "soul mate" is a pagan idea, and found no where in God's word.

"What God has joined together, let no man separate"
-Jesus talking about marriage from mark 10-9
If GOD has joined two people together, its safe to say that he has chosen those two for one another. Whether or not they work to have a satisfying and long lasting relationship is on them.
Call it what you want, perhaps the term "soulmate" isn't the best as its too romanticized, but there is plenty of biblical evidence of God bringing two people together, sometimes even straight up choosing a dudes wife for him!

I love your videos! But I disagree with you on this topic. Maybe everyone gets hung up on the "soul Mate" title , but the Bible says God orders pur steps (followers) we ask God what jobs to take, what houses and cars to buy, and He guides us in these choices. There are many houses , jobs, etc.. but God tells you while one to purchase. So why would He not lead you in one of the most important decisions of your life? " soul mate" implies that everything will be perfect but it won't be . just because God shows you who to marry. But when God blessed you it doesn't mean smooth sailing. In fact I have learned that with Blessings come test. If you put your faith in God He will guide you to the one He wants you to be with. It is about His will not ours. He had s plan for you before He made you, and that includes a mate for you.

I can't ever thank him enough
Holy holy holy lord god almighty who was and is and is to come

Thanks Minister Parr! You are the bomb! Very knowledgeable in the word and explained very well Sir 👍 I will say for those who are Christian wanting a spouse, you must pray for your husband/ wife bc so many people are very deceiving and then you end up unequally yoked. It is imperative to ask God to send you that person, and he indeed will. Please know that once you receive that person, he or she is not perfect and may have all types of flaws which is why it is so important to hear from God on this, a person can not complete you. They are there to help you build and go through this thing called life and be a companion. So many people are hurt bc the one they thought was "the one" is not perfectly fitting into their plan of what they wanted. Understand nobody is perfect, not even your so called soul mate. But pray to God on all things, put him first and the rest be added to you. Be blessed ❤️

I definitely don't believe in soulmates anymore. Jesus is our soulmate. Paul was celibate. Marriage is for sanctification and a definite gift from God, but not necessary for every person. I think we should all just run head first towards God and if you so happen to find a person willing to run with you then you may have something. Also, Paul describes our relationship with Jesus as a marriage in and if itself. When we become focused on each other we are in danger of making idols out of one another.

There is definitely no such thing as a "soul mate". Christ is no husband to individuals , he is a husband to a church ! Not the same thing at all.
Marriage is not for sanctification. Marriage is for keeping us away from temptations
" In order to avoid sexual immorality , let every man have his wife and every woman have her husband" 1 Co 7:4
Marriage is for being fruitful and multiply as well.

It will take time because I haven't moved on from my last relationship yet (and the fact that this very woman is the one He used to make me know Him; meaning I'm with this woman every Sunday so it's harder to move on). I have to love and serve God before anyone else first.

What about Genesis? Adam was put into a deep sleep and Eve was fashioned from his rib and presented to him by God. The way I interpret this is, Eve completes Adam and Adam completes Eve. They need each other in order to function at their best capacity but are separated by sin and cast out of the garden (Unable to walk with God in real peace)
Ribs can’t be independent without a body and the body needs the rib. I recently met someone and I’ve been led back to scripture multiple times plus gotten several confirmations and before I saw this I read that the concept of soul mates isn’t biblical. I also learned about it in High school. The concept itself is rooted in Greek Mythology.
    But anyway.
I believe that the man I’m currently talking to is my husband for the season I’m in. I would really like help with this. I’ve been prompted to pray for him way before we met by the Holy Spirit and there are details about the both of us that no one but God knows that compliment each other.

Thank you so much Brother Allen for this video. Yes, I agree, we should not be looking for a soul mate, which comes out of the fairytales, love stories and romance novels which propogates this idea of the one and only....the church also picked up on this and taught this for decades. I agree that its not biblical and rather a secular/worldly concept. And I do agree that we should focusing on ourselves as being the right person rather than looking for the right one, The book which also inspired me is God is a Matchmaker by Derek Prince, how God led this minister to the right woman who was the pillar of his ministry., and he shares very deep, biblical principles in this book. Well, at 54 I am still single but prayerfully seeking God that He will lead me or connect me to a godly man who will invite me to share his life. God bless!

Nice video bro! I think a soulmate or the right one is just basically a person you are "PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY" attracted too. If both attractions isn't in the relationship, it simply won't work.
And I believe Christians should strive to LOVE LIKE JESUS and become DISCIPLES of Christ before getting married...that way the man will have the strength and courage to LOVE HIS WIFE LIKE HOW CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH and the wife will have the strength and courage to RESPECT & LOVE her husband like she does God. Because let's be honest...most Christian divorces are coming from "babes in Christ aka Believers of Christ" not MATURE CHRISTIANS aka Disciples of Christ.

Thank God for this video! I have been recently trying to speak to my friends and sharing them the new revelation I myself learned (have been questioning my own beliefs through the prism of the BIBLE) that the notion of soulmate is not biblical or spiritual but just a worldly lie to hinder people to actually work on their marriage with the person that they chose to marry by saying the vows to God to work on godly marriage that glorifies God in every aspect of the union as God intended marriages to be.

I agree, it’s laughable when videos like this try to give an absolute answer when they didn’t study the new testament relationships well.
Also just look at the concept of the bride of Christ, we were chosen to be part of the church/bride before we were born.
I don’t believe in free will. The one and a soulmate are the same thing.

Or maybe God wants me to to test Artificial Intelligence as a spouse.

I will say this, he makes a lot of good points, but I have to disagree slightly with the part about God not choosing the one for you. I believe there are practical steps on how to hook up with whoever you end up with, but I also believe the weight of that rests upon a person's personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. And relying on his wisdom add voice to guide you. There are different ways many couples end up getting together, but I do believe in some instances, God will guide you to and speak to you about a particular person u should or shouldn't be with. I know from personal experience.

Hey I'm a young man who loves God and would love to get married. I really love this video and agree with every point, but I'm struggling right now with patience as it relates to a marriage. I need to learn in this season of my life to wait for Gods timing for me because I still sense that He has a lot to teach me and a lot of molding in me yet to do, how do I remain patient in that process? Any tips?

Hello Mr Parr! Great message as always but I have a question. Marriages used to be arranged. You don't see much of this in the US these days. So, where does dating come in?

    • @thebeatagp
      @thebeatagp  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Tammy Davis hey Tammy sorry for the delay. Yeah dating isn't talked about much at all in the bible for whatever reason. It wasn't part of their culture at the time. However that is why I believe God gives us wisdom and principles to look at because as you said, there is no clear cut formula for saying and courtship in the bible.

I do agree that us humans do take beautiful things and destroy them. The concept of soulmates, can only come from {GOD} himself, even though you stated it is not in the Bible. What I mean is,if god informs someone about who they ought to marry,so they can have the best possible life together, then the two persons he {chose} to {put together} are indeed {soulmates}.Because we all are ultimately souls, looking for our mates. But us humans beings used the term soulmates so loosely, therefore the inherent goodness,of this concept is lost.
