I was hoping we'd go with just one captain, so this is a great outcome. I think McDonald most likely was asked to step down, rather than that he volunteered. Also excellent choices for vice captains and the succession plan is there for all to see. Souv and Sheez are excellent leaders and will be around for a long time to come.
For the lift up the ladder we need cooper Harvey will Phillips Hansen junior Finnbar Maley Eddie ford and Teakle to go to a consistent level whether they are afl or vfl they need to be doing everything right and that will compliment the first 18 w
Everyone saying xerri for leadership group, i think we forget he hasnt played any consistent footy. Maybe one more year consistent footy then would like to see him lead some more.
Since he took on the captaincy his performances over the last 2 years has been average, His role unfortunately changed from being the intercepting 3rd defender after logue went down last year and that impacted his role. If Comben plays CHB then he could even be a 4th defender which i think he is screaming out for. Big year for McDonald !!!
There’s no doubt LMac deserves respect as a true north man who gives his all. However he is a poor leader (presiding over the worst ever stretch of north years) and has fallen well out of the team’s best 23 for at least 2 years now. Thankfully sanity has descended and he has been convinced to / decided to give up the captaincy. I would like nothing better to see him revive his best football in 25 and hold his place but I honestly do not believe he has the skill level of those around him and he may play his last year in 2025.
Makes sense, hasn't been an automatic best 22 selection for a few years now. Wouldn't surprise me if he returns to form without the added pressure
Our family discussion (we are all North btw) came up with Xerri, Parker and McKercher to round out the leadership group
Colby is a big call!

Feeling pumped for this season feeling like all the pieces are coming together no sealing anything possible GO ROOS
Like 1 captain.now we can really choose the best 23 without doubt
Next 3? Corr, Xerri, and one of Archer or Comben with McKercher as a smoky.
GREAT VC calls! The succession is now clear. Sheezel has captain written all over him. There may be a Larkey period as captain before him.
Comben is a born leader when the chips were down and the backline was at it’s worst he stood tall against the tide surely he is in the mix
Believe me the way ARCH plays football that is vice captain maternal
Date for the live show???
23rd of Feb! Hope to see you there 😊

Every time I hear you talk of your love for Xerri, I think back to your reaction when I showed you the update that he just signed his latest contract
Never gets old! 😂
