absolutely the only thing that this should is that Jimmie is civilized man cause it takes a man to realize that violence solves nothing while Kevin showed his primitive nature to want to fight like if thats gonna solve anything
As much as I don't like Jimmie, I respect him. He came to come apologize to Kevin, and if Kevin needs to be mad at anyone its Rodney for not calling his ass into the pits for the tire rub. No Kevin decides to swerve side to side and cut his own damn tire. "Rubbin's Racing".

Theres alot to take from this situation: 1. Rodney Childers should have called Kevin in after the contact. There were enough laps left in the race to come in and try to salvage a better finish. With the tire wear the track provided and the intensity of the contact, it should have been a no brainer to come in, repair the damage, take the lapdown and work your way back up, his car was fast so he would have had no problem getting back on the lead lap back in time. 2. I'm not a fan of Jimmie AT ALL but I do like his calm demeanor when it comes to people confronting him (Kurt at Pocono, Kevin at Chicago, Ryan at Michigan, Biffle at Martinsville). Either that or he's scared. 3. I was a big fan of Harvick when he was younger because he never backed down from anyone but then I started not to like him because then he started to turn not backing down into just being a bully. But i do like that he isn't biased when it comes to his bullying (i know it's fucked up lol), from slapping Keselowski after a race for throwing a water bottle on the track to his issues with Joey, i felt he was just picking on people who really don't seem to be fighters (and I'm a die hard Keselowski fan, too). But after seeing him confront Jimmie (even though I don't agree with him doing it), i see that he's not biased, even towards 6-time. 4. Some fault should be placed on all 3. Joey for pushing Jimmie so long, Jimmie for going down on the apron with an ill-handling car at the time (but then again not really because he had a really good run on Harvick so the least amount of blame should be on Jimmie) and Harvick for going down on Jimmie before Jimmie had to come up and make contact with Harvick. Harvick brought Jimmie down so far that both cars were almost below the line (if you look from Logano's view) and then gave Jimmie no room heading into turn 1. So if anyone should be at the most fault it should be Harvick and Childers. Then Joey. Then Jimmie. But then again, that's just racing.
VirusVox Nah I think my driver is going to be smarter this go around. He's been relatively quiet this year compared to years past. Last year he got into it with Kenseth at Richmond and Charlotte, Gordon at Texas, Denny at Charlotte, Kurt at Martinsville, and Tony at Charlotte. This year, no one really besides Matt Crafton at Pocono so this year he's been more conservative on the track. I think the difference is that last year, the more success he had on the track the more invincible he felt and he got way too headstrong, especially after he did that amazing pass on Larson and Harvick at Chicago and how he was clutch at Talladega. This year he's been relatively quiet and consistent so I think he'll only be Brad style when his car is great like at Darlington and late in the going.
While I can't call myself a NASCAR fan anymore, I can say that this situation here once against showed the reason why I am a fan of Jimmie Johnson. He has come far, keeping his cool like a true veteran and willing to walk away from a massive confrontation, which is better then what even his mentor Gordon does. He is a smart man, and his success is not due to talent (which is squandered nowadays in racing, the most talented racers are forced by their sponsors and owners to drive in lower series), but due to calm, collected intelligence.
This was just racing. Johnson just got pushed if he didn't go low he would of either ran into Harvick and spun him out, or slow down and be taken out. Johnson was already down low, he isn't going to just give positions. Its hard to hold that line way down on the white line, he was doing everything he could do to not wreck Harvick, just a racing incident, no one really at fault. Johnson knew he messed up and went to apologize to him. Harvick I understand is pissed but I have huge respect for Johnson not fighting back, knowing he could get penalized.
Wow smh Harvick needs to grow up. He's a bad role model for young kids who are watching this sport. His son was probably watching. Jimmie Johnson even was shaking his head. Harvick needs to set a better example.
Thats not how pros handel a situation. Having self control and talk without hitting or punching says much more about a persons personality. Jimmie Johnson my favorite. Handeled that situation like a puré pro.
In July at Kentucky Speedway Danica Patrick vs Dale Jr and now September at Chicagoland Speedway Kevin Harvick vs Jimmie Johnson. Stewart-Haas Racing vs Hendrick Motorsports tempers flare.
too stupid to watch a damn replay, watch from Joey Logano's perspective and you'll see why. Logano rammed into Johnson on a restart, which forced Johnson below the apron, makes contact with Harvick ACCIDENTALLY, which cut down a tire, spins and hits the wall later on. Also, what nerve of him made him point out towards JJ's pit team, there's something called "we don't race the car, we just work on it" (anyone remember Kyle Busch taking out Brad Keselowski years ago and that quote was said?) Pit crews don't race the car, they work on it! Props for Jimmie Johnson for walking away and not lowering himself down to Kevin Harvick's level. I believe it's going to be a interesting team meeting at the Stewart-Haas Racing between Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick.
Seriously, what's up with harvick. He's such a baby and can't even have a normal decision with Jimmie Johnson. Also it's his fault for not giving Jimmie room on that restart.
NASCAR needs to sanction Kevin Harvick. This guy's short temper has pitted him against many other drivers out there, some multiple. After a while, you would think Harvick would listen to what the press has asked him about looking inward to place blame for his own actions. Since he continues to behave like a brat, maybe it's due time NASCAR Officials start interceding with fines and suspensions, and if that doesn't work to end this unacceptable behavior, then expulsion.
i honestly blaim harvicks spoter because he told kevin he was three wide up top so he did not give jimmy the room he needed and so when the track straitened back out harvick did not know he was clear outside and so jimmie came up with the track and harvick did not give him enough room because of the miscommunication
Joey pushed Jimmie, Jimmie moved back up to the track, Jimmie may have moved up to hard but Kevin gave him no room. Its racing, everyone should get over it.
Why is everyone hating on Harvick? He has every right to be upset. Although it was Logano's fault that he wrecked, Johnson shouldn't have been that aggressive only that far into the race. He should've given harvick more room, but harvick did not move from his position, not expecting him to move up. Don't hate on Harvick, he was expressing his thoughts.
Jimmie couldn't give Harvick more room because the #48 Was at the line going into turn 1 and have no choice but to squeeze in and push Harvick up the track.
I can't blame Harvick. I mean yeah Johnson should've stayed out of Harvicks way but Harvick probably could've handled the situation a little bit better
Yes Logano pushed him onto the apron, but Jimmie made the ultimate decision to drive into his door. If I were Harvick, I'd be pretty pissed too. Johnson showing us he's so desperate to win, he'll resort to pulling a Penske and wreck someone.
Exactly. Here we are with Kevin who deserves to make the final four and probably won't make it to the second round, while Jimmie get's a free ride all the way to final four most likely. This shit is not right.
+Patrick Star I agree with you. Its not Harvicks job to make room for a rival, let alone one as good as JJ. Jimmie made the ultimate decision to ram the 4. He could of backed off fallen into line and made up the spots he lost over 5 laps cause he had a really good car at this point in the race. I hope Harvick makes sure the 48 doesnt win this year. 78 for the title.
+Patrick Star agreed, there is over 130 laps to go, Jimmie could have backed off and pulled in line, he didn't have to run into him, 2 laps to go that is understandable but mid-way through the race is way too aggresive
what's with the Harvick hate? Logano hit Johnson which forced him to go down low so he slammed into Harvick trying to get back up. Johnson had other options but he decided to slam into Harvick instead. if I was Harvick I'd be pissed too
+nabo 105 you can drive on the apron just fine if you slow down a bit. He could've done that until he finds an opening but he just turned and slammed into harvick.
How about you judge these single incidents as single incidents rather than throwing your predetermined who's right and who's wrong in there with it. Looks to me like Jimmie tried to go talk about it and Harvick was trying to have a measuring contest.
Tbh, unless they can get an alliance with Penske, going to Ford is a bad decision as of this point of time. Because it seems most of the fords besides Penske are having trouble finding speed in just about every track.
Jacob Bayers But you have to then think, that Harvick is going with completely different equipment that he has never raced in before. Going from Chevy a manufacture he drove under for all of his career to Ford a manufacture he has never drove under before. Also I never said he couldn't win, but I am saying that winning is going to be a lot more difficult due to lack of speed (other than Penske)
there is over 130 laps to go, Jimmie could have backed off and pulled in line, he didn't have to run into him, 2 laps to go that is understandable but mid-way through the race is way too aggresive
it is Joey Loganos fault like all ways Jimmie had no choice but to go up on the track I respect Harvick but I think he relay overreacted to this.........I am a Jimmie Johnson can also a Dale Jr Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne fan but I respect Harvick so if he has a problem with Jimmie just talk it out with him don't just push him.......I am glad that Jimmie walked a way he did not want to get in trouble with NASCAR go #Jimmienation #Jrnation #Gordonnation and grate job this year #Kahnenation
Lol at all the sudden hate for Kevin Harvick from the Jimmy Johnson fanboys. fact of the matter is it was mostly Joey's fault but Jimmy had his options instead of forcing his way up the track, Kevin could've gave him more room but if you guy's would watch the clip Joey was actually making a move on Kevin's outside, Kevin most likely thought he'd be at his quarter panel already. Joey didn't back down from the move until Kevin got hit.
Us Jimmie fanboys you're talking about the hate is from Kevin punching Jimmie. We all know Jimmie wouldnt fight anyone because he seems to be more mature than everybody but when Kevin hit him it just turned for us because he just wanted to talk and Kevin wanted to fighr
Every man on this earth would be highly pissed just like Kevin harvick if after all the races this season you made it to the playoffs and the very first race you get screwed over and finish 42nd. Especially if you've been absolutely dominating this season and the guy who's known as "the 6 time champ" is the one that does it. I respect Jimmy for being mature about it but you can't do everything in the world and get away with it just by saying "sorry". Plus Kevin Harvick has the chance of being the champ back to back which is rare but because of this accident now he almost has to win either next week or the week after to advance.
Not a fan of Jimmie, I'm a Harvick fan. Jimmie and Kevin are good friends. It was the heat of the moment, they will work it out.. It's the chase, both drivers are at fault here. It's time to move on, Kevin's been the fastest car all season he can make up what he's lost and advance to the second round.
1 time needs to chill a little bit here, it's the best thing since slice bread he needs to go talk to. Maybe he should just let the person wearing the firesuit in the family go and talk to him. Leave 6 times alone, Don't get on our bad side Happy Harvick, oh look it's Mr Where did he come from. So yea don't fuck with HMS, no need to explain why. Ask Smoke and he will tell you the same thang dawg
Reminds me of the time Biffle yanked Jimmie by the back of his collar. I very much thought Jimmie would pummel little Bif in the ground, but he handled it like a champion. I do think Jimmie would have won the fight with Harvick, though. Oh, and what was with that fat ass cop? Daaamn!
Any idiot who thinks it was Logan's fault is and idiot you try and get all you can on restarts. As for the contact it was aggressive on Johnson's part but Harvick could have moved up he was faster then the 48 and he knew he had a rub why keep racing smoke was pouring out of the car. Nothing was intentional here just hard racing.
It's about time someone stood up to Jimmie. I hope that's not the end of it. Johnson needs to be taught a lesson, he does this to everyone and has no consequences for running into anyone in his way.
+Dylan Everett, Oh trust me, I watched the replay. And watched Johnson turn square into the side of Harvick. I recognize Lagono made him loose, and yet after Johnson saved his car still just drove into Harvick instead of letting off like he should have. Blame Lagono all you want but like I said, Johnson has issues doing things like this and I'm tired of it.
+SnakeBerry, Very true, and I acknowledge that he tried to explain everything as he should have, but that doesn't take the actions on the race track away. Which were ridiculous, and not even close. Like many other instances where he's done things like what we saw today.
100% Johnson's fault. Even if Logano pushed him, Johnson still came back onto the track way too quickly and didn't even give Harvick a chance to give him room. Harvick deserves to be mad at Jimmie.
+alex shep That first corner was coming up fast, and there was no room. Harvick would have had a better run into the first corner then Johnson, and could have still been ahead of him going through the corner as the 48 would have needed to take the entirety of Turn 1 (and maybe even turn 2) in order to get back in the racing groove with any decent momentum and direction. Unless Kevin's spotter is terribly blind and Harvick himself has no peripheral vision (I know that they are limited in those cockpits, but not THAT limited!) there is no way that he could not have seen the 48.
Anyone else noticing the increase in professional sports "fights" "confrontations" "squabbles"? Turns out, Millennials, from a marketing perspective, love confrontation. Baseball became "too slow". NFL's getting PC'd to death. NASCARs following to suit. These sideshows are just that. Preplanned diversions to slide that lack of on field/track action. Like good sheep, we fall for it. Tune in the following week, talk about it Monday via youtube comments. What I'm really saying, lawn darts was banned because a kid died 40 years ago, but I can play real darts, in a room, smaller than my yard, with dozens of people I dont know, drunk, legally. In fact a lot of places have Leagues for this sole purpose. Thanks Corporate America. We cant get Immigration reform, but God damn those lawn darts.

Jimmie was about to load up. I think he realized from harvicks weak shove it wasn’t even worth it
Jimmie's like ''Keep talkin I don't care''
Props to Jimmie for not murdering Kevin in that moment Jimmie isn’t a fighter he never will be

it is Joey Loganos fault like all ways Jimmie had no choice but to go up on the track I respect Harvick but I think he relay overreacted to this.........I am a Jimmie Johnson can also a Dale Jr Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne fan but I respect Harvick so if he has a problem with Jimmie just talk it out with him don't just push him.......I am glad that Jimmie walked a way he did not want to get in trouble with NASCAR go #Jimmienation #Jrnation #Gordonnation and grate job this year #Kahnenation
Chora Kevin.
You want some come get some
Lol at all the sudden hate for Kevin Harvick from the Jimmy Johnson fanboys. fact of the matter is it was mostly Joey's fault but Jimmy had his options instead of forcing his way up the track, Kevin could've gave him more room but if you guy's would watch the clip Joey was actually making a move on Kevin's outside, Kevin most likely thought he'd be at his quarter panel already. Joey didn't back down from the move until Kevin got hit.
Because Brad2Penske is a Jimmie Johnson fanboy
Maybe they hate him for acting like a spoiled child after the race when a man who cut your tire wanted to apologize but Kevin wanted to fight.
Watch the video again, Harvick moved down over the white line into Johnoson's space on the apron. Harvick being the prick that he is backfired on him!
Karma sucks doesn't it? #NoSeventhThisYear
so harvick...you think just because you won a title you can go pushing people now? xD
It was Logano's fault in the first place, you obviously didn't watch the replay.
+Fisher95rc He went to apologise and wanted to talk it out.
SnakeBerry fuck u

harvick hahahahahaha
🍼4
Jimmie Johnson causing chaos again under the guise of "shuck...I'm just tryna be friendly, y'all, "
the 4 is a PUNK. J J is class, the 4, not so much.
100% Johnson's fault. Even if Logano pushed him, Johnson still came back onto the track way too quickly and didn't even give Harvick a chance to give him room. Harvick deserves to be mad at Jimmie.
+alex shep
That first corner was coming up fast, and there was no room.
This is old but your a cry baby too. 100% 7 championships. Kiss the rings bitches
