Hi Kishore, I booked the Thar on the very first day and in fact I send the booking amount to the dealership a day before. Hence got the promissed delivery date as of now is 1st november. I booked diesel automatic hard top red rage color.
The delivery date as promised by mahindra is 1st November nation wide but the dealership has started conveying that on 1st November mahindra would bill them so it is gonna take the transit time over 1st November.
As the dealership has said that mine booking is the first booking of my state and hence company had given us the opportunity to unveil the vehicle and unwrapping it for the very first time.
Overall I am happy with my decision and I am all excited.

I booked the thar on 2nd Oct got a date of 22nd Jan. Then was told March . Then I tweeted Mr Anand Mahindra . That I sold my fortuner to buy a new one but now I want to buy That MII product . But dealers are not responding well. Got a call from head office . Got a date of 29 th Jan
I booked on 17th October..now I am told that the expected delivery date is 5/5/2021...7 months waiting period...😢😢...
Now I am thinking of cancelling...the initial craze is gone given the loooooong waiting period...

Hello Kishore, Congrats on your booking. I made my booking with my dealer on August 13th even before the unveiling of the Thar was done. Booked it even before seeing it online. Then later finalised for a Black Diesel AT HT Thar. I've been promised 1st week delivery and mine is the first booking in my city. I've heard there's delay in production of HT models but I hope my car isn't hit by that crisis. Fingers crossed.

Good talk on Thar . I booked Thar Automatic Diesel Convertable. I used to drive the Old Thar , MM540 and like Indian jeeps . I have other two cars so going for New Tech Thar.
I feel three very important Mahindra should do and it’s a major Design fault.
1. Rear seat is just for Two travellers that’s fine , but one cannot keep both legs into the below of the front seat . On the left side one can see a projected plastic which is so uncomfortable, need to flatten it.
2. For Automatic left leg resting pedal is must. Not sure whether I can fix it.
3. Speaker quality ( 4 + 2 tutors) is just below the average.
My on road price is 17.3 lakhs. This 3 small things should have over look by design team immediately.

automtic is ₹ 1 lakh premium over a manual. Really an automatic is not worth so much over a manual beecause a manual also costs money. Is the real price differential like 140k over a manual. It's an aisin unit imported from Japan, but so much premium over a manual is unexplainable.

I booked my Thar before taking test drive because I am using old thar and I was waiting for it desperately, secondly it is made in India and last and most important thing is that most people dream of buying jeep wrangler but due to budget constraints cannot afford it.
It is always advisable to to take a test drive and decide for yourself.

I am facing the same Mahindra dealers are so ignorant, you keep calling and writing the mails and no response, if you want to extract any new information, you will have to call from a different number potraying as a potential buyer, then they will give you some info, credibility of that info can not be trusted.
Hi, have you checked with then the warranty of chemical binding which keeps the hard top fixed to the body and prevents leakage of water. I believe thus chemical wears out and probably increases the maintainance as time passes. I tried to get the showroom guys to respond but they couldn't. This will be the most serious issue with the otherwise great car.

@@KishoreVlogs some initial feedback from the very early that deliveries is that mahindra seems to have rushed production. The huge number of bookings are overwhelming them. Cars with identified defects seem to have been delivered. Please be careful.

Hi, I presently use a petrol honda city vx since 2010. I like silent engine noise. I have my own agriculture farm and I am nature lover. I drive 20,000 km per year rural and city, now time to replace my car.
I choose Thar LX Automatic petrol convertible top.
But doubt air noice from convertible top, Pls suggest which one is best for me Disel AT / Petrol AT, Hard top / Convertible top.

Hey kishore... I've booked lx at ht diesel in mystic copper... im a master mariner and i stay at home for 6m only a year.... I presently own a petrol 2015 city vx... but once im home I do drive quite a bit... the dilemma now is petrol or diesel... could you help me out.. I live in Coimbatore
Hi Arun - I suggest petrol as it’s very low on maintenance and very silent and more powerful, if fuel cost is not an issue, again I don’t see much of difference. Yes diesel you will get more mileage compared to petrol, may be 2-4kms per litre
diesel thar ride is more settled. Petrol engine being lighter than diesel is slightly.more bouncier.
Heart says petrol mind says diesel ... the car will be in lockdown for 4months straight..
And it will be used only 6months a year. Now I also have a petrol sedan at home which will be retained...in my 5 years of car ownership my average mileage has been 12000km per year with one car.... so thats roughly 1000kms per month...and now this will get split into two... 500km for city and 500 km for thar approximately... and I do plan on using the thar for city usage only mainly... so thats my dilemma... I live in Coimbatore and I am from ooty. There will be frequent hill climbs too..

When did you book? I booked on 8th october and they told me waiting period is 20-22weeks for automatic LX petrol ht version. Response by Mahindra is very bad though. In delhi, dealers are more interested in insurance, accessories and incidental charges (incidental charges is nothing but handling charges which is illegal as per supreme court guidelines) than selling the product, I have raised concern with Anand Mahindra and govt. authorities, lets see what would be the outcome. But there is very bad response by dealers if you deny all add ons including loans tackled by Mahindra dealers. Then they crib for made in India vehicles. Mahindra certainly need to keep a check upon its dealers. I have very bad experiences by now. If they are so rude for 17000 bookings, how should Hyundai behave for 1.5 lacs booking for creta. A good product does not give a right to be mean to Indian customers.

Ya , surely there would be some cancellations, changing the variant, you will lose your booking and your will have to do a fresh one, that’s what I was told, but I think your dealer might be able to help.
