Fun Fact, a Hustle Durant has more attack than a Pure Power Medicham and it is equivalent to about base 190 base attack.
It also misses about the same due to medichams best stabs having 90 accuracy.

Can confirm as someone running Choice Scarf Daramuka in Little Cup /:
@@yungmuney5903 The only exception to that is anything using Triple Axel, for only that makes the move effectively hit all three times.
@@iantaakalla8180 Issue however is that triple axel(and triple kick...) are the only moves to get a meaningfull advantage off of it. It's a 1.1x multiplier accuracy making even 90% moves miss out by 1%. For reference sake of damage vs accuracy the item is worse than Muscle Band, which itself has less than 5% usage typically, even on analysis sets mentioning it as an option. Even making the item boost by an absolute of 10%, thus making it even more favourable to use low accuracy moves like stone edge or Iron Tail and assure 90% moves always hit, would only marginally make it better.
The Sceptile and Durant missing each other with Focus Blast and X-Scissor at 3:38 was a thing of beauty.

That is exactly my durant experience.
You always try to run away with a fast lead, but when it fails you just receive a huge chunk of damage.
I'd loose more pokemon in my victory road runs to durant than to the trainers.
@BluBlo They should be a lot faster than Emboar and they have dig.
A dig shouldn't do less than 50% your hp if you weren't overleveled.
Durant: Cover themselves with steel to protect themselves from Heatmor, only to become 4x weak to it.

Durant is also the one of the tier's best late game sweepers when utilizing pull-up jumper, a move seemingly tailor made for it. In addition to his silky touch, his massive height stats also allows him to shoot over shorter opponents like Patrick Beverley and Russel Westbrook.

I love Heatmor and Durant, great duo of mons. I don't get why they're not talked about more, barring the fact that they're incredibly unavailable until late game.
In theory Durant is kind of a cool but dumb(brain wise) mon.
It grows an iron skin to defent against Heatmor but Pokemon logic gets incinerated by Heatmor and fire types in general(pun intended)
Heatmor will probably be the next Pokémon
Heatmor is just a forgettable fire-type Pokémon (a type filled with fan favourites that gain all the attention) plus it's generally not a very strong nor visually appealing pokémon (sorry...).
Durant does deserve a little more attention however it's potential shenanigans in doubles did give it some notoriety tho

This thing murdered so many of my pokemon in White while I was trying to grind for the Pokemon League. I still find myself impressed by just how amazing Durant's stats are, it just looked like some low BST shitmon at a first glance. But boy howdy did it prove me wrong SO many times...

@@Sazandora123 scizor and gen 5 bugs would like to have a word with you. plus its stats are pretty great once you realize that 109 speed is faster than the 4 musketeers like keldeo (dominant in gen 5 and 6 OU) and terrakion (super strong in gen 5 OU)
Gen 5 in general buffed the bug type with so many good bugs. Speedy mons like Scolipede, Accelgor, and Galvantula, the powerful Escavalier and Volcarona, and while Leavanny’s arguably the least of them, it is at least an early game bug with a great design that doesn’t suck. And has Chlorophyll for sun teams.
Very fitting to upload this episode today as Nets won against Bucks lmao.

I got a string of incredible luck once laddering with Durant. I laddered for an hour and missed not a single move, I was running already inaccurate moves like T Fang on top of hustle. This was during Isle of Armour. It actually genuinely felt like a great OU mon that day. Really if Hustle didn't reduce accuracy, I could see it in OU.

Ray won Worlds 2011 with one on his team, so the VGC section will likely be longer.
Just wanted to remind people that Truant Durant is broken using it against the Battle Subway, Battle Tree, Battle Tower etc thanks to entainment and allowing your Pokemon to set up while Protecting in turns when your opponent attacks. My +6 Closter swept so much. No HaxRain could kill it.

It's a gimmick though
Maybe because that gimmick was really uncompetitive and was primarily used to exploit the NPCs in the post game battle challenges. If used in competitive Pokémon, unless Durant can trap the opponent in, the enemy can just switch out to get rid of truant. Also, Durant still had truant after using entrainment, so it was pretty unfavorable to keep Durant in, thus becoming deadweight.
Because you pull out durant and put in Dugtrio to set up on the truant turns and then swap.
@@jacksonxu9901 ... Except when you pair it with shedinja in doubles. Shadinja using mimic to obtain entrainment, then giving its wonder guard to an air balloon Drapion is the most annoying gimmick you can put on a team. I started running Haxorus on my sun team just to deal with it.
@@andrewpenn1145 True, but those kinds of tricks are deemed uncompetitive and would only be allowed in Ubers if at all. It’s the same reason Shadow Tag Wynaut/Wobbuffet got banned when they came out. Besides, so many things have to play out correctly to pull it off so it would be a very risky play

i know it's not part of this channel but it's worth mentioning that durant was part of the first successful pokemon trading game mill deck, durant mill which used durant's devour ability to deck the opponent out and prevent them from drawing and was only stopped by set rotation of some of their key cards

The first good Hustle Pokémon. Durant inching just ahead of Infernape and the Swords of Justice by 1 base Speed always stood out to me, even when Heliolisk did the same thing in the next gen.
True gamers will also remember Durant being one of the four Pokémon available at the Hidden Grotto in Midna Garden, with its quad weakness to Fire putting it at an extreme disadvantage against Orion's Vulpix and Fletchinder. However, it proved extremely effective against the Abyssal Cult's early-game Skrelp and Corphish, so it wasn't a complete waste!

Nobody really knew how to handle him, it was great.
Well Durant is a career 27 ppg scorer at nearly 50% on the field, he's one of the most dangerous sniper in NBA History, and has an unstoppable jump shot. Before injuring his Achilles, he proved himself to be one of thr better perimeter defender of the game and can switch on bigs because of his length. And after limping the Nets into a game 7 loss to the eventual champions, the Bucks. He has proven that he is also a cold blooded man and can lead a team.
The music you use is just great for these videos. It fits in a way I cant describe.
I've been waiting for this episode and am glad it ended relatively well. Glad to see one of my biggest favorites actually be good in game.
I've always loved durant conceptually. An ant made of steel is just a cool look, and I made it a point to include it in my team during my first Shield playthrough. (I named it DurantDurant)

I know pokémon eating other pokémon was nothing new in gen 5 but jeez the prey and predator relationship between Durant Vs Heatmor is brutal!
Tho kinda ironic considering Durant is infinitely more powerful in competitive batting.
Durant has never handled the Heat well. 2012 NBA finals was clear proof that simply having high attack and fast speed stats are not enough to overcome the Heat.

Hey FSG I think that you miss the setter Durant, the one with Truant, Eject Button and Entrainment, That u use Durant in the first turn and use entrainment and pass the truant, and when you get hit the eject button actives and you practically get a free turn to set up, works great with dragon dance Dragapult, belly drum Kommo-o and maybe with swords dance Rillaboom :3

Vids like this gives you a new perspective. I've always thought Durant was weak due to its four times weakness to fire and the fact that its pokedex states how it evolved to have steel armour to defend itself from its predator Heatmor even though Heatmor can still melt through it.
How good was Durant actually? Well he's one of the best overall players in the NBA and will soon be in the Hall of- wait I got the wrong Durant?
This is a pokemon I really wish had an evolution. Even if it was just a larger ant with more design, I wish it had more to offer.
That would make it kinda O.P. Especially with an Evolite item. It's already good enough.

Back in gen 5 I once fought my husband with a Durant and I kid you not, it lived a sun boosted heatwave from his Charizard. I still have no idea how, and of course it was only on one HP, but I was so proud of my little ant.
