Maybe go some place where is English is more commonly used like Philippines or Singapore (latter is apparently as expensive as other developed countries tho).
In London my old landlords were always from abroad or second generation migrants. I had a Singaporean landlord who would message that they were about to go off grid and then they were would go to China for work for 6 months. They were using the property as a business address. I opened all letters that the flat was receiving which is probably completely illegal but there were monetary transfers associated with the address and 10s of business and investment associations to it. It was an illegal rental which I only discovered when I contacted the apartment block manager and mentioned I was a tenant as they asked why the landlord didn't message them. They said that they only allowed owner/tenants rather than rental tenants and enquired who I was so I stopped correspondence and that ended the conversation. Landlordism and ownership is full of criminality and everyone knows it not just in Thailand for sure!
Devon countryside and woodlands much nicer. In time you will see it. I spent years in SE Asia....you'll be a 2nd class citizen....ok in your 20/30s.....but in 40+ ...forget it.
Maybe so, but who wants to out to the woods when it's raining and cold all the time, like 8 months of the year. It all depends on the individual and what they want ultimately. Coming from someone who loves both the UK and Asia.keep you pecker up buddy 🤙
#1 doesn't apply to the Philippines since we basically treat foreigners better than our own people here. The downside is infrastructures. If you're outside the major cities, sometimes it's hard to get good wifi speed.
You are confusing that with hospitality to a foreign guest. In the same manner that you buy the most expensive delicious foods, make sure they're comfortable and be on your best behaviour whenever a guest is visiting your house that you wouldnt do on a day to day basis with other family members living with you. But when something very serious happens, you will put your family members above your house guests and everything else. That goes the same for Filipinos, they will stick together and rely on each other, that is where the real affection and care can be measured, not based on superficialities like being hospitable to a guest.
You are protected by law if you rent the condo legally and have a proper contract, normally it’s yearly contract or more. Air bnb or short term renting is not allowed for the condo ( home is ok by law but condo is not allowed because people keep coming in and out of building can disturb people who live there). There are many Chinese/foreigners do illegal business in Thailand, they never pay income TAX ( they can’t even they want to because it’s illegal and mostly they don’t want to pay TAX anyway) you can’t complain about no law protection for you since it’s actually illegal, this can happen in first world developed country too, not only in Thailand, such as one case in youtube, Thai student rent condo/apartment in Swiss and she didn’t know that the landlord didn’t register the condo for rent (for avoiding TAX) so it’s illegal, then the government officer found out and she had to move out even she had already paid a lot in advance. About feeling like a second class here, I’ve heard so many comments like this from westerners, the funny thing is I also see many comments of Thais complain the same thing, like they are second class in their own country, because there are many news about foreigners do wrong things in Thailand and the polices just let them go, so people get angry and post it on social media then it’ become on TV news.
For the majority, the travel influencer life simply isn't sustainable long term.
Shh you'll ruin the courses/memberships that they punt
The languages are difficult. Most westerners have a hard time dealing with tonal languages.

Devon is THE most beautiful part of England. But it's unaffordable.
@@martyinsumatra Compared to London and other places...it's cheap. Supermarkets cheaper than Spain and Portugal.

Can't you just take a picture of one of the Filipino workers face and present the picture to the face recognition scanner?

Condo rentals are usually minimum one month. 👍
These blokes look in the mirror and think expat

Dont use air bnb simple
Do you have a Thai bank account?

I hope so because ATM withdrawal fees are brutal for foreigners
