The democrats ran a horrible campaign, because they are horrible people and they have nobody but themselves to blame for losing! Periodt!

The democrats need to realise that most normal people just want normal things like more money and better safety.

It's the left's fault with all of their holier than thou, virtue signalling 'think like us or you are part of the problem' attitude. Most of them are just normal people who want to make a better life for themselves and their families and they have had enough of the left's BS and the mainstream media's lies, ,deceptions and hyperolic, clickbait content. I've always been 50/50 on the whole abortion thing. One thing I dont get is how pro life people will go into complete detail about how if something has x y z then its life and cant be killed. But then other animals are not treated the same (oh thats just food it gets a pass, but so and so is a pet so gets legal rights cos its looks cuddly). Im not vegan but the logic doesnt have much consistency.

I have exactly the opposite experiance. I am coming from Eastern Europe and I find UK a zillion times more positive. It's the politeness really, I really like it. I went back home and smiled at a ship keeper the first day, she gave me the most scornful look and threw my stuff on the counter and turned around. I said have a good day, she turned surprised. Said nothing. You bump into someone, they turn around with Can you watch where you're going! Instead of a simple sorry. And once I moved put of London to Bristol I actually have even better experience, people smile at you on the street, neighbours came with cupcakes when we moved in, it is so friendly. The issue is the bloody weather, vegetables and most fruits are a million times more tasteless then where I grew up in south eastern europe. I think that affects people, but more then anything it's the economy. People feel down, because it got so tough in the last 7,8 years and it feels hopeless as no one seems to be coming up with a good plan how to get out. Netherlands is way richer and just build in a way that makes it very friendly and lush. UK has loads of brutalism and unpleasant looking council flats, litter etc. It's money. What I do agree is BBC. It is gross it really affects my mental health. I stopped consuming the BBC and replaced it with DW, the German news media.

The current premier of the Australian state of Victoria should take note of how the male voters (who determine win or lose) will vote in her next election. She has instituted an anti-male "department" in the Victorian parliament responsible for "mens behaviour"!!

I'm Spanish and I lived in London for a few years in the early eighties. It was quite shocking to me when I realized about how clasist the society was. You could actually tell by the way people talked, what class they belonged to. I must say there's not such a thing in my country, not even similar.

Try going into a working class pub with an upper class accent and see the reception you get. It's a two-way street. That's why young English people tend to speak with a blaccent now. Just speaking English in full sentences is seen as 'snobby'

You know the country is in decline when Trump is seen as a Nazi, gascist, racist, kkk syperthiser by people who truly, have no idea what is going on in the world. This place is a sh.t hole and will only continue to get worse, and worse. Unless mass deportations are done, foreign aid is stopped and govt contracts are actually used to benefit our people it will continue.

UK and England especially, is such a hateful place. The services, the things we pay for; go out of their way to not provide you with what you have paid for and go out of a way to scam an extra pound or 50 out of their customers by BS fees and convoluted contracts and the law let's them get away with it. The poor are constantly screwed over, people moving to the country are treat like criminals, it's a place that hates it's constituents and only sees them as cash cows to rip off. Everyone is rude but everyone is too 'polite' to call people/companies/etc out on it.

It never used to be like this. During the Victorian times, it was a golden age for entrepreneurship in Britain. Small businesses thrived, and that inventive spirit was in full swing. Socialism has created that apathy towards the pursuit of money and complacency has seeped through. The US created Corporatism that has been detrimental to small businesses in Britain, and small businesses are taxed out of existence.

In London my old landlords were always from abroad or second generation migrants. I had a Singaporean landlord who would message that they were about to go off grid and then they were would go to China for work for 6 months. They were using the property as a business address. I opened all letters that the flat was receiving which is probably completely illegal but there were monetary transfers associated with the address and 10s of business and investment associations to it. It was an illegal rental which I only discovered when I contacted the apartment block manager and mentioned I was a tenant as they asked why the landlord didn't message them. They said that they only allowed owner/tenants rather than rental tenants and enquired who I was so I stopped correspondence and that ended the conversation. Landlordism and ownership is full of criminality and everyone knows it not just in Thailand for sure!

Excellent topic Olly and well said. I was born in England (East London white flight immigrant central), raised there, my parents were Indian immigrants. I immigrated to Canada and I have to say the class system is not as strong as the UK, there is more acceptance for all Canadians here in comparison. Growing up, I had little awareness of the other English classes because guess what....we never had the opportunity to be exposed to the middle or upper class people! It's only when after university I started working as a professional in other parts of England that I came across proper middle class people. It was an eye opening shock to my system, something as a British citizen I was totally unfamiliar with. The opposite end was exposed to me when I went to my first Oasis concert lol. Oh and I can switch between a Cockney accent and a professional 'London' accent that allowed me to pass job interviews lol..........I don't have a Canadian accent yet.

the reason of all fo that is because population is ageing, the average age is much higher, older people are less willing to change and take risks, they tend more to close down to pessimism, then of course there are other circumstances and events that can affect as well

The reason why a lot of the west is miserable is because the current generations were never educated on how the countries became 'great' by plundering other countries. Therefore their citizens assumed that they were naturally going to remain 'great'.The outside 'plunder' wells are drying up and the govt/big corporations have resulted to plundering own people hence the misery.

Which Central Asian Country? I hated the UK system. Opportunity and paths to success were non existent. Got the hell out years ago and am actually very much happier living in Central Asia.
