Nice video! 👍🏻 I also really liked your two reviews of the Wooting 60HE, I just ordered mine and the estimated delivery is in 'early May'. I can't wait! :D
Im really happy to see competitors with the Wooting, cuz they offer improvements that Wooting 60 dont have, for example the aluminium case, Wooting still gives plastic case as default, if u want the metalic Alumaze case u'll have to buy again and it costs like another 100+, same with the improved switches. But what these competitors lack are optimization, both hardware (latency) and software, and its a pain to see cuz they literally have better hardware, but it also shows how amazing the Wooting is!
@@fleepity i mean you're now arguing value in form over value in function. I'd rather buy the Wooting and get a better overall package with a slightly inferior case w/e and spend extra on a replacement option. As opposed to paying less money for an inferior product with better build quality.... after all that is the point of a keyboard; it's a tool and it needs to perform as such. I could give a shit less about build quality.
Kickstarter orders start shipping out next month. Their store also sells two additional HE switches (one lighter, one heavier than the default). Also the big selling point for some is Wireless and browser software for HE settings.
I haven't seen a single larger sized content creator test out the Drunkdeer G65 or A75 yet, both almost half the cost of the wooting while being between wooting and steelseries in terms of rapid trigger speed.
TH-cam recomended me this video as I am big into the custom mechanical keyboard world but not so much gaming and let me tell you I own tons of high end customs and ive never heard a spacebar sound that good stock, ever.
This shows how much effort Wooting has put into the 60HE, otherwise the magnetic keyboards from AliBaba would not be far off from the 60HE. Also, Wooting announced a new keyboard coming relatively soon, hope you'll check that one out as well.
Was waiting for your or hausgaming's review. Latency is all that matters to me honestly, everything else I can mod to my liking if I chose to. By now you are clearly in the top3 best tech channels in yt!!!
I would love to see how the new Huntsman V3 Pro stacks up to the plethora of Wooting clones we’ve already been seeing on the rise. I know he’s already reviewed the Huntsman Mini analog but with the release of the “Gen 2 Analog optical switches” in the newer V3 Pro line, Im crazy curious to see what changes were actually done
I had the mini one. The software is dogshit compared to Wooting. Many things you cannot change and sometimes you have to reset the entire software and keyboard, or it will just crash on load. And even worse, the RT was buggy. Every 5 minutes, a movement key that was fully pressed was not detected at all, making my character full stop. Then, I had to fully release the trigger before it would work again. Maybe it was just a problem with my copy, buy yeah...
Sounds like just you man, the software is not the cleanest, but it gets the job done. I know that the keyboard had issues on release and lots of firmware updates have released to combat that. Sounds like you had a bad keyboard though. Been using the V3 pro with 0.1mm and rapid trigger on 0.1mm with no issues for around 4 months.@@Ch4nKyy
Wooting's new batches of lekker switches are significantly better than the original green ones btw. Factory lube is very good, and the stem wobble and rattle in the plate are pretty much gone, at least on my 60HE+ with a polymer plate. Haven't tested them on the old steel plate or original board, but yeah, straight from the box wooting's doing a LOT better with the switches
Its the same board as this one, im pretty sure. I also experience the same deadzone thing that optimum explained here with the Polar.. still pretty good though
I'm surprised you haven't checked out the Corsair implementation yet. However it is a full sized board not a 60 or 65% board so that may be the case. Either way great video man glad we are getting more competition on the marketplace. Hopefully they will only get better over time.
I feel like companies should 100% hire / collaborate with people like Optimum to do product testing and reviews before releasing it to the public… imagine how crazy good products would become
Most companies aren't interested in releasing one perfect product. They want half a dozen products with marginal improvements over several years, preferably sold several times to the same enthusiasts at halo prices.
I swear that watching optimum talking about Wooting makes me like the company even more. He does his videos so well that this is basically the only channel that sucks me into the screen.
I have a wooting in transit to me Rn my batch finally got to the states, and as if i wasnt hype enough I watch this video and am now so hype to get my wooting ur content is awesome
This does look like a really solid board. Hopefully they can tighten up the rapid trigger functionality and latency via software updates in the future as I could see myself picking it up if they do.
Would love an update on this review before me and my girlfriend pull the trigger on this or a Wooting 60he! Since I’ve heard about new firmware updates on this keyboard to address the problems pointed out in this review.
I personally got used to it with my 60HE and I can always remap the keys if I need to (altough I couldn't get it to work yet rip) and the extra room for the mouse is nice. I understand wanting those function and arrow keys tho, that's why Wooting is preparing to release an 80% soon
You can survive on a 60 with a slight modification of your muscle memory. Simply make right shift and the 3 mod keys underneath into the arrowkeys, and then customize the enter key to actuate enter when tapped but act as right shift when held. Its actually incredibly easy to get used to using enter as shift. Thats not the only way to make a 60percent work either. If you can’t get used to that you can create a layer key that turns esdf into arrow keys, this is actually more efficient for work purposes because you don’t have to take your hands off the homerow to use the arrows. Then you just have to decide where its best to put the layer key, a lot of people don’t use capslock, so that may be a good place. Some people move their ctrl to caps so maybe where ctrl used to be can be your layer key. Even if you use capslock you can still use it pretty easily if on the second layer you make the tab key act as capslock. This opens up lots of things on the second layer, you can make the numbers turn to function keys, backspace turn to delete. Its all incredibly logical and easy to get used to.
i have pretty much every size keyboard but why do people act like if a key isnt there its nonexistent, most people just rebind keys to the second layer and it takes the exact same amount of time as pressing one key if anything can be even more convenient for certain ones bc you can do everything from your left hand quicker than moving to the other side of the kb or letting go of mouse and using right hand, like binding arrows to wasd or f1-12 as the number row etc bc my fkl tkl(pluto) looks so much cleaner than my reg tkl
I have to say I tried the steelseries and not only did it glitch out but also my posts about it were deleted from the steelseries reddit. Also the software opens a huge page of ads every time and it's required.
Its less that brands are now "copying" Wooting and more that Gateron has started selling their switches to everyone. Gateron has been the main manufacturer for HE switches for a long while now, but have been focusing on collaborations (Wooting and Steelseries are the big ones) rather than just outright selling to the open market.
@@DittyBitty69 Yeah, no. Because optical and HE switches actuate digitally, the sensor eliminates the reliance on debounce latency and firmware. Performance on Optical and HE switches are much less software dependant compared to mechanical switches.
4:00 they can definitely fix this so easily in the software level by changing the trigger threshold after the first click so it doesn’t reset the distance.
Should make a video on the Arbiter Studio Polar 65 Keyboard Great build quality just like this videos keyboard with rapid trigger and factory lubed would love to see the testing (Silver panda looks best imo)
I'm pretty sure this and the polar65 and the VGN atk68 have the same pcb OEM (Purely guessing by the screw location and the 4 switch above the right arrow key btw). So if anyone is interested in this keyboard, but it's not available in your region you might wanna look at those 2.
Thanks for doing reviews on all of the hall effect keyboards! I think a lot of us are looking for either a cheaper option or a better build/feel/sound than the stocking Wooting 60HE. We appreciate your sharing your research.
I'm honestly just waiting for these hall effect switches and rapid trigger functionalities to make it onto low profile boards (G915 type low profile). Yes it makes the hallway for the magnet to travel shorter, but this for esports FPS titles. Most people slam the key all the way down, so overall distances really doesn't matter and we should take advantage of the ergonomic superiority that low profile boards have especially if you're going to sit and play several hours of Valorant or Overwatch competitive.
I got the wooting as soon as the ARM version dropped, I love that keyboard! feels like it will live forever, the GMMK pro on my workstation in the meantime had 3 switches go bad.
Corsair K65 Pro Mini here set to 4k polling rate. Everyone is making their keyboards faster. It's a welcome upgrade to a space that honestly was very stale in terms of latency for years.
@@dominicalis huh? There's videos on it that make it seem indistinguishable from the wooting. Unless optimum does a video who else would be able to get you that info?
Good. The more it takes off the better to see more options. Personally I'd like TKL version. Be it magnetic or optical once rapid trigger switches become more mainstream and can be hotswap, yey.
With low profile switches you sort of get some of this benefit since the travel and actuation is less than full size switches. Not the granularity as these new keyboards but still something.

Wooting does lube the switches, maybe they didn't in the past but they do now or at least got a lot better at it. Got mine in the mail today it's been an amazing experience.
Hello , would you mind doing a review of drunkdeer keyboards ? Been thinking about getting one lately but i only trust your reviews , they are more like wooting keyboards . Would really appreciate if you do it ❤❤
Wooting still king, especially after modding it a bit. Sure the switches could be a bit better but the performance easily makes up for it. Also I didn't buy the keyboard for typing a lot, it's mostly for gaming which it still excels at.
Excellent video yet again. This is exactly what we live for the test results we all deserve. (Moving actuation point is a deal breaker) Apparently nothing can top wooting at this point
I have my wooting 60 he a bit over a year now. As I am seeing more and more clones it is kinda like a pokemon battle where I am proud of the wooting that it beated everyone so far

The Latency Problem and Issues are fixed with Firmware Updates and the new added Low Latency Mode.
Have you seen any test regarding this fix?
what about the moving actuation point?
Did they fix the latency issues?
I love how he really goes in depth along with making his edits clean
Waiting on this man to hit 1M He Deserves it 🙏
You dont have to buy the Wooting 60HE with the plastic case anymore fyi
@@filur108 but isn't the price way more tho
@@fleepity i mean you're now arguing value in form over value in function. I'd rather buy the Wooting and get a better overall package with a slightly inferior case w/e and spend extra on a replacement option. As opposed to paying less money for an inferior product with better build quality.... after all that is the point of a keyboard; it's a tool and it needs to perform as such. I could give a shit less about build quality.
@@trevorbarney1796 yeah uve got a point
Keychron also have a hall-effect keyboard coming out at some point and the marketing implies the performance equals that of the 60HE.
Are unoptimized analog keyboards still better than traditional mechanical keyboards?
Yep
Believe it or not, yes, still a bit faster.
@@optimumtechthats good to know, cannot wait to see the results when its optimized
TH-cam recomended me this video as I am big into the custom mechanical keyboard world but not so much gaming and let me tell you I own tons of high end customs and ive never heard a spacebar sound that good stock, ever.
Optimum can you test the drunkdeer a75 too please
please optimum test this one best rapid trigger for the money
This shows how much effort Wooting has put into the 60HE, otherwise the magnetic keyboards from AliBaba would not be far off from the 60HE.
Also, Wooting announced a new keyboard coming relatively soon, hope you'll check that one out as well.
which is very impressive considering Wooting is not like a giant company or anything big
still waiting for a wooting 65...
holy f that sound was STOCK! im so happy we're getting wootings with better builds and better prices 😭
Would love to see you test the Monsgeek M1 HE 75% board or any 75% HE board at this point
A few years down the line this would probably become standard and be done pretty well across the board(s).
Was waiting for your or hausgaming's review.
Latency is all that matters to me honestly, everything else I can mod to my liking if I chose to.
By now you are clearly in the top3 best tech channels in yt!!!
Optimum always pumping out great quality videos!
I would love to see how the new Huntsman V3 Pro stacks up to the plethora of Wooting clones we’ve already been seeing on the rise. I know he’s already reviewed the Huntsman Mini analog but with the release of the “Gen 2 Analog optical switches” in the newer V3 Pro line, Im crazy curious to see what changes were actually done
all problems that appeared on gen 1 were solved, it is on par with the wooting, other then the software.
I have it and the only thing I don’t love about it is how loud it is 🤣 overall it’s a solid keyboard
Not to mention keychron q1 HE
I wonder what he has to say about the Polar 65. Community has an overall great experience when it comes to it. Cannot wait!
The Akko and Monsgeek magnetic boards have mid software but are definitely superior in terms of build quality and feel since they're gasket mounted.
Akko and monsgeek have rapid trigger kbs? Didn't know that
Would love to hear what you think of the new BOOG75 magnetic keyboard. Yet another contender in the mix.
have you heard of the boog 75 yet?? i’m wondering about it’s rapid trigger latency now
This does look like a really solid board. Hopefully they can tighten up the rapid trigger functionality and latency via software updates in the future as I could see myself picking it up if they do.
would a software update fix the latency problems ? gutted if no as i ordered one before i seen the footage
Did you end up buying it? How is it? I heard on their discord there should be a download for the newest software with latency mode
Would love an update on this review before me and my girlfriend pull the trigger on this or a Wooting 60he! Since I’ve heard about new firmware updates on this keyboard to address the problems pointed out in this review.
Optinum pls can you checkout the Drunkdeer G65 and A75 they only are 100$ and have Rapid trigger with 0.2mm actuation
It has the KG650U board
your channel is underrated
Very confused with the popularity of 60% format. The lack of arrows is confusing in tasks except gaming.
So you like this then as it has arrows?
Maybe that’s because people buy this type of keyboard for gaming ONLY? 😂
WYSI
i wonder if it was intentional
Thank you very much this confirmed my experience with the KB65He, it felt off and i returned it, staying with my wooting 60he
Nah... you gotta stop calling these clones man...
This video is amazing, now I know all these new 65% "HE Rapid Trigger" keyboard are all not worth buying.
You will never know how i got this many likes 😂
What about dislikes?
You better do it
@@klwrpanot humanly possible
Go for it king
Naur have one like = a pound on the bench press
Its less that brands are now "copying" Wooting and more that Gateron has started selling their switches to everyone. Gateron has been the main manufacturer for HE switches for a long while now, but have been focusing on collaborations (Wooting and Steelseries are the big ones) rather than just outright selling to the open market.
@@DittyBitty69 Yeah, no. Because optical and HE switches actuate digitally, the sensor eliminates the reliance on debounce latency and firmware.
Performance on Optical and HE switches are much less software dependant compared to mechanical switches.
Hell ya.. Keeping it real with the viewers. Love that. Keep up the good work!
I was actually kind of surprised with your closing thoughts. I guess it's true that there are no bad products just bad prices.
4:00 they can definitely fix this so easily in the software level by changing the trigger threshold after the first click so it doesn’t reset the distance.
The production of these videos just keep getting better. Not a single video doesn't improve from the last, keep it up!
Should make a video on the Arbiter Studio Polar 65 Keyboard
Great build quality just like this videos keyboard with rapid trigger and factory lubed
would love to see the testing
(Silver panda looks best imo)
they are 100% lying to you about the cnc, that is without a doubt cast metal you can tell from the edges of the board
most people arent going to think twice about it, isnt that shit annoying
@@frostgodx it’s a good foundation for a lawsuit which is nice
I'm pretty sure this and the polar65 and the VGN atk68 have the same pcb OEM (Purely guessing by the screw location and the 4 switch above the right arrow key btw). So if anyone is interested in this keyboard, but it's not available in your region you might wanna look at those 2.
Thanks for doing reviews on all of the hall effect keyboards! I think a lot of us are looking for either a cheaper option or a better build/feel/sound than the stocking Wooting 60HE. We appreciate your sharing your research.
I wish companies like wooting would add small things like support for split backspace, or split right-shift, etc.
we need all HE keyboards tested, include akko mod 007 he, meletrix boog 75 and everything
Absolutely appreciate the in-depth testing
optimum just spill the OEM tea and tells us to spend our money wisely. you're still a gem in pc tech reviewer
That changing actuation point issue is a complete dealbreaker, what a shame, they go so much right D:
I got the wooting as soon as the ARM version dropped, I love that keyboard! feels like it will live forever, the GMMK pro on my workstation in the meantime had 3 switches go bad.
You can never be too certain with switches. I got spares when I bought it mine so I didn't have to deal with the headache if it happens.
@@LongJohnnn yes, me too, but that is a promising result for the wooting, never double-typed a letter ever
Corsair K65 Pro Mini here set to 4k polling rate. Everyone is making their keyboards faster. It's a welcome upgrade to a space that honestly was very stale in terms of latency for years.
Would love to see you making a video about the BOOG75, it looks too good to be true
whenever 75% rapid trigger boards get out there at wooting quality I'll buy in. Need that Function row with arrows. I don't hate having a knob either
Boog75 available for end of January preorder. Gogo
@@tinypickle who knows what the latency on that will be though, no point in preordering
@@dominicalis huh? There's videos on it that make it seem indistinguishable from the wooting. Unless optimum does a video who else would be able to get you that info?
@@tinypickle wheres the data?

Good. The more it takes off the better to see more options. Personally I'd like TKL version. Be it magnetic or optical once rapid trigger switches become more mainstream and can be hotswap, yey.
Wooting's marketing department must love you. 😆I'm personally getting one as soon as I have the funds to splurge.
Because of you, I ordered a wooting 60he including a kbd case👌🏻 but unfortunately it won't arrive until the end of February.
you should review the boog75. It looks like the best HE keyboard rn, combining the typing experience of a custom and the HE of the wooting
With low profile switches you sort of get some of this benefit since the travel and actuation is less than full size switches. Not the granularity as these new keyboards but still something.
The wooting 80he is out for pre-order. Didn't get the 60he bc I want the arrow keys and F keys so I'm glad they came out with the 80he and I can't wait to get mine 😊
why no one talking about the drunkdeer g65 its insane, cheap, offers 95% of what the wooting offers.
i just got my hands on it and its insaaaaaaaaane!!
As I am seeing more and more clones it is kinda like a pokemon battle where I am proud of the wooting that it beated everyone so far
thats insane that endgame was sold the same pcb as higround. Nothing is going to be taking the Wootings place in halleffect keyboards at this moment
Okay but Endgame makes great products. Been using the XM1r for about a year and a half now and it's honestly my favorite mouse ever
5:00 "techless" got very different delays with a similar rig ( /watch?v=pQ3bYuBy8vE at 2:36)
His testing shows they're typically within a ms of eachother in delay, or at most the EGG is 1ms slower on average. A whole 22ms difference on average is crazy.
I remember the day when everyone had same equipment and pc specs, it was taking pure skill to compete. Now it takes skill and money...
