Ura- Omote At some places (For example where I live) there’s stores that buy the bacon and other meats on full without cutting it until you ask for it, Maybe at one of those places you could ask for the thickness

We used to get really thick sliced bacon like that from a local butcher shop. They advertised it as Grilling Bacon because it was thick enough to cook on a BBQ grill. Good stuff. Seeing this makes me want to give it a try. I'll have to get slab bacon and cut it myself, but it looks worth it.

I don't know where you live, but usually, you can ask your butcher for the whole bacon, simply a bit expensive since its a LOT of bacon.

I went to this local market downtown once with a friend and the guy fresh cut a side of bacon into slices in front of us and we got some delicious fresh baked bread too. I'm sure you could have just asked for a cut of the side and done it at home but they had that deli slicer machine that made it easy
In France you can find this to (at ? I'm not sur, sorry) your pork butcher. We call that "tranche de lard" in french, "slice of bacon or lard".
It's not really expensive, even good quality meat.

Good for using thick sliced old time bacon!
Cooking tip: you do not always need to use oil for bacon or for eggs. A pan that is well seasoned will release the meat as it is frying!
