I love this recipe, Toya. You did a great job on the presentation and explanation. You should be doing more cooking videos. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
I made this the other night. My wife claims to not like thighs because she prefers white chicken meat. I was lucky that she left me two pieces!!! This coming week, we'll try this with drumsticks. Thanks!!!!
@@toyastable7047 I can't say I converted her, just opened her mind to trying something different. I'm sure she's still going to want to have her tried and true chicken breasts. The point is, your recipe is delicious And and your presentation was excellent. I'll be checking out you other videos.
Just popped up in my feed (no pun) because I do watch cooking shows, mainly Jacques Pepin and America's Test Kitchen. But I can see instantly that this is special and I subscribed in less than a minute. Just the other day I made Bridget/ ATK's crispy chicken which was good but, frankly, a project. I have seen exactly one of your vids but I can tell, I just know, I am SURE that I, a 74 year old guy who lives in rural Western PA who retired from decades as a university administrator, am going to learn how to cook, not s*** food, but FOOD, watching your vids. I am on board. This is exactly what I am looking for. Good luck with your channel. At this moment I am happy. And, in this day and age, people in general, and especially in rural Western PA don't tend to make me happy. Best wishes.
I dry each piece of chicken as it comes out of the wrapped package and place on a plate coated with paper towels with food grade gloves to prevent an sort of contamination. Apply a 2nd coating of paper towels for the next layer of chicken pieces to ensure dry chicken pieces. Those thighs looked fit to eat.
I am with you on this one. I think KFC is pretty good but it is not as spectacular as a lot of people seem to think. I sometimes get fried chicken at a local cafeteria that I like better than KFC, and I doubt that they use 11 herbs and spices. But good homemade chicken is hard to beat. Home cooks were making great fried chicken long before Harlan Sanders came along. I have thighs in my fridge right now, so I am going to go try your method.
Preheat oven @ 425 F; bake chicken THIGHS @ 40 minutes; immediately remove and let cool (do not remove from sheet pan baking rack). IMPORTANT: AVOCADO oil prep. is VERY important (highest heat-level tolerance) and use BAKING RACK (in sheet pan to bake) and PARCHMENT Paper (to prep. chicken and line baking sheet, prior to inserting its baking rack). You're welcome. (Get all of the above prep. set up BEFORE you start process.)

Oh yes! Oven baked comes out as crispy as it would be fried. To your question, I don't wash my chicken. When it's cooked to the appropriate temperature the bacteria is killed. I also like buy organic meat for a healthier quality. I hope that helps!
