Thanks for putting this out there. I just got notice form sweetwater that my fireball 25 had shipped and this video popped in my feed......thankfully mine is the KT77 version, but hearing how sweetwater and engl were responsive and forthcoming is a great reassurance.
I currently have over 20 Engl amps. I just had to do regular tube replacements in over 20 years - never had a serious issue. The guys at Engl are also really great. 👍 ❤
Thanks for sharing your experience with amp troubles. I'm interested in getting my 1st ENGL. Thought it will be The Fireball 100 but now I'm leaning towards the Special Founders Edition 👍🏻
Absolutely man, just trying to keep it real. I wouldn’t hesitate with a Fireball tho, Engl did fix the issues and it’s an amazing amp. Can’t go wrong with the Founders though either.
Absolutely glad I could help, and honestly I’m not sure who they get tubes from. There’s only three in the whole world and yes other manufacturers are experiencing issues as well sadly.
Honestly having had them both in the same room, the EVH records better. The Engl is a beast though, you’ve gotta get the eq just right and it sounds like a darker EVH.
Had a early version Diamond Nitrox in for repair The traces on power tube board are VERY close, well a tube went n WHAMO screwed entire board, Ima 30 yr tech, 3 store front repairing 4 Amp cos built for n they would NOT allow me to change board out! Fair warning,,Customer service is crazy, i can SEE their point tho, they have proprietary stuff 4sure they do NOT want YOU ta know about..
those suck, man, sorry to hear about that, we all love gears yeah, guitar world nowadays is weird, dudes are going mostly to digital/ plug-in kind of things and modelers while we still cherish the oldskul monstrous in-your-face metal tone with huge amps and cabs in the room lol

Back before the tube deal man, I’ve got amps I’ve owned forever and no issues either. Engl told me it was bad 6l6 tubes bro, even they didn’t know for months.

I had no idea you could run a head through a combo. How do you run that dude?
I’m actually running both at the same time using an amp switcher, and then running that through a Friedman 4x12 off camera. Gives me an idea though

No, I think that’s a wise choice. I use those in recording quite a bit, they sound awesome for everything.
