I bought the AEM kit and ended up skipping the RAM intake mounted under the Bonnet and cut out a square piece of the Hood-metal just above the airfilter-box and mounted a second aftermarket-scoop. Now i have a "Bigmouth Carbon scoop" in front nicely cooling the Engine AND another Scoop taking in tons of cool air just for the Airfilterbox. I have a DAN Gauge mounted in my OBD2 port and it showed my air-intake temperature dropped 10-11 F* in average.... pretty good .
I like the effort you are putting into this. However, I think the videos are too long, it's good to see how you are making it but to see every cut and every bolt being attached is probably a bit too much. It makes me want to skip through the video. Personally not a fan of this modification, I would have installed the AEM hood scoop first to see if there's any noticeable difference.
Thanks for the input I'll take that into consideration about the length. My first videos were alot shorter but ppl complained about not showing enough LOL. Unfortunately the AEM hood scoop isnt sold on its own :/ i checked. and the next Closest thing to it is the DDMWorks Ram Air Scoop @189$ I think id much rather take my chances with a home built one first since it cost me nothing but time.. this way " I can see if there's any noticeable difference " theeeennn maybe ill buy it for my birthday lol . Cheers
Your making a scoop to direct the air into the filter, but now you just blocked all that off. I think there is a kit that's sold to make it functional, I would go off that design.
There will be a scoop that flows right into a hole that will be made in the middle of the heat shield . Made of CF be sure not to skip through the video if that's your style of watching lol I address that via a red rectangular box towards the end
