      Drove my E36 from Alaska to Minnesota wrecked it, chassis swapped it. Started front widebody and tons of mods. Then pulled a trailer down to South Carolina and am finishing the back half with the same rear fenders from the kit he uses. Making a great car handle better and looking better, that's I how the trigger gets pulled

    I just ordered a set of overfenders for my E30 with the intent of making your not so typical stance stuff you see these days. As soon as I placed my order I couldn’t help but think about the cutting I would have to do on my beautiful car and wondered if I would regret It down the road. Felt like this was a one on one conversation. Good job and good luck man thanks a ton!

    Hanging chassis’s are kind of the first step I now take whilst doing any successful wide body kit install , learnt this the hard way with my e36 unfortunately 😂 I also wish I had done the proper research or had been told this, having said that after watching your vids you’ve done a pretty decent job , I had trouble getting the wheels to cuff and ended up chopping some ssl king springs in half and using them as my coil overs 😂, I’ve since done a few wide body installs and learnt a trick or two to make look super clean from an exterior point of view anyway... well done man !

    Video fits nicely right at the time. Completing the last steps of my Felony Form E36 build and sometimes I question myself if that was the right decision. Unfortunately I live in Germany and we have some really strict technical inspection which makes it a lot harder even. I shared my plans with the inspection guy but every time I take a look at my car I think "Holy shit, inspection is gonna be a nightmare" :D Not sure if or at least how this thing will become legal. Those widebody or overfender cars live from stance and fitment and exactly this is a big difficulty here... Not too low, no smaller diameter tyres than OEM, not much camber, not much tyre stretch, no negative offset... And mine is supposed to be a daily, some kind of showcar (not really on that level but yeah) and also some kind of daily drifter :D Gonne be much fun to bring this to life finally... Well, at least the base car was cheap and the body was in perfect condition for the build. Wheel arches weren't to good, fenders rusty etc.
    But I can image already how people at meets will ask dumb questions, why haven't you done it like this or that, why no proper rocket bunny, why aren't you running 12" wheels and huge camber, I would have done it like this, this build shouldn't be too difficult... Ugh.

    i mean think about it though . With that setup u could still go with a felony form style kit. So imo u could still go back. Felony form is the closest to stock u can get . Im stock body and id LOVE to go wider so i can actually get a nice set of meat on the car without raising my car so its not a raking

    • @peterm3861
      @peterm3861 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well not really. Felony Form is mounted above the door trims. For the Rocket Bunny kit he needed to cut the arches below the trims as you can see in the pics of his build that were shown in the video... Just one example.

These widebody are mostly FRP. as you know the durable of frp are worse than the metal or aluminum so it would do it only on rare occasion, dont get me wrong. widebodies are cool. but i wouldnt do it, im more of a car collector guy, likes to keep it mint conditioned.

    Kit choices are so darn limited and plastic require hacking up the wheel wells. If you could build a wide body out of proper metal and avoid the inevitable paint cracking where you blend the kit it would be a lot more appealing. Always thought that learning how to beat my own panels might be the answer (97 M3 50K m in perfect shape). Maybe with a salvage car. Rivet on plastic with seams always looks ricer to me.

    • @BimmerDude
      @BimmerDude  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks man! I normally only wear my mask when i know my hands aren't sanitized. When I didnt have time to wipe down my door handles inside and out as well as my steering wheel. Sometime the mask is to protect yourself from putting your own hands inside your nose or mouth. In this same situation is actually more sanitary to just leave the mask on instead of touching the outside surface of the mask with your potentially dirty hands. Its very easy to get absent minded while out and about and its just human nature to rub your nose etc. Very easy way of reminding yourself when you cant touch you skin. Just some advise from an X navy Corpsman

    Great content but please don’t ever add that typical TJ hunt music from 3 years ago it’s the absolute worst song ever. Just trying to help a fellow TH-camr. Your e36 is rad

    Why were yoy wearing a mask driving your own car

    • @BimmerDude
      @BimmerDude  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      At that time I didnt have any hand sanitizer with me and I knew I hadnt cleaned my steering wheel after returning from the the gas station (with no gloves) the mask was merely to to prevent my hands from touching my mouth/nose. Just remember ...Sometimes when you see people wearing mask and it doesnt make sense to you.. they might just be trying to dummy proof a dumb situation. Cheers

    Question is why on Gods green earth are you wearing a mask while driving in the car?? 🤣😂😂🤣🤣

    • @BimmerDude
      @BimmerDude  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use your imagination.. there are a dozen reasons why you may see someone driving with a mask on in their car. So before you judge here are a few. A mask is much cheaper than a cabin filter. If you touch your steering wheel with your bare hands and your steering wheel is not clean you have to remove your mask at some point with those hands don't you... wouldn't it be better to have a mask on to prevent yourself from touching your mouth or your nose? Maybe the people you see driving around with masks on with rather make things dummy proof by eliminating "Human Tendencies" like itching your beard or your face or wiping your nose or your mouth while driving. Just some food for thought... no one's saying "YOU" should be doing this but maybe just maybe everyone has their own way of protecting themselves from themselfs and those they live with
