Update 7 2024....I also did a muffler delete and it sound so much better...check out the start-up here: th-cam.com/video/5B9ONff7Hsg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Feaht50o0NA4tir9 7 years ago. It's not too loud but loud enough to hear the burble and pop!
Nice video, is your r56 rev limited. My 2013 n18 cooper s has a soft limiter keeping the car from reving over 4k when stationary and I think it’s about 7k when I’m moving.
I did a resonator delete on my R56 and it barely sounds any different. Even in sport mode, no pops or crackle, even on downshifts. Only major difference is cold start sound 🤔 considering cutting out the 2nd cat too.
What year is your Mini? That's surprising. Check out my other video where I removed the muffler. It sounds better. You might want to do that next. th-cam.com/video/5B9ONff7Hsg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cK_BZhQhCXhWq-RV
I know this is an old video but I'm considering doing this to my '12 Mini Cooper S, how much louder does it get when you remove just the first muffler / resonator? Edit: Also how was it done? I'm thinking of just doing the delete with just a pipe and exhaust clamps
Sounds a little louder and able to hear the pos and burbles more. But even better with the muffler delete and resonator. Check out my other video with the muffler and resonator delete. Here th-cam.com/video/5B9ONff7Hsg/w-d-xo.html It was professional welded.
@@highsiderider Definitely gonna do the muffler delete or a valve system. I like the louder pops but they do get stuck in the rear muffler. Thanks for your videos! They really helped
Thanks for your kind comments. I used Plasti dip and careful taping. Here's my updated Mini mods.. Please check it out. th-cam.com/video/5B9ONff7Hsg/w-d-xo.html
Just a resonator delete. Since then I deleted the muffler and it sounds so much more aggressive and can really hear the pops and burble! I'm really liking the muffler delete along with the resonator delete.
The later R56s were tuned to gurgle and pop in sport mode, if I recall correctly, they started with the 2011s. 2007s don't make that sound with a stock exhaust.

@Alextucci567 To be honest, I haven't noticed, but you are probably correct.

Just did this today and no difference and no pop. whats up?
What year is your car?
Is this just the resonator delete? I just deleted mine and it sound quiet as hell still! :/
+Joseph Larios Yes, just resonator delete.
you think a JCW exhaust will make it sound even nicer and louder in combination with the resonator delete?
I think it will. JCW as it is compared to S has a more aggressive sound.
Check out the video on my channel to hear the sound of a Cooper S with a resonator delete + JCW Muffler
Nice mod, nice vídeo, where did you got the trim around the fog light in black? Did you make it yourself?
Thanks for your kind comments. I used Plasti dip and careful taping. Here's my updated Mini mods.. Please check it out. th-cam.com/video/5B9ONff7Hsg/w-d-xo.html
Any regrets removing the resonator?
What is that smoke? I’m playing to buy one and it does that smoke too
The smoke is water vapor due to cold weather.
Might be burning coolant if youres has excessive white smoke in not cold temps
Is this the resonator by the engine or the muffler at the back?
It is in between the muffler and the catalytic converter.
What kind of exhaust on it?
This is the stock exhaust.
Is this with Down pip or only resonator delete??????

How do you get pops and gurgle? Is that a tune? I have an 09 S and it refuses to have pops.
It pops only when I turn on sport mode. I am not sure why yours doesn't do this. Maybe earlier models of Mini don't.
my r56 2007 model does it aswell

lol, almost shitted my pants :_0
@frytka3733 I have baby wipes... You made my day....can't stop cracking up. I rewatched it and I almost did the same. Lol
Ooh, I wouldn’t be revving that engine like that….
I don't know if you meant it to be that funny but man that comment had me in tears. Thank you sir.
Does it make flames out of the exhaust tipps???
No flames but might be because of the catalytic converter is still in place.
