For some reason, I will never forgot the feeling I had when I first arrived in Novigrad. After spending so much time in boggy, poverty-ridden Velen, Novigrad felt so entirely different in the best way possible. Still probably my favorite city in any video game to this day.

I played it for the first time during covid, it was a MASSIVE help to keep me sane while stuck inside. Being able to delve into a massive fictional universe was extremely interesting, and seeing this whole other side of fantasy I hadn’t experienced before was truly magical. Since then I’ve become a huge fan of the games, done several in depth prop builds inspired by them, listen to the score daily, and have bought and customized several figures that I admittedly play with often, lol. I am very happy to have had the experience of playing Witcher 3, and I would love to return to it a few years down the line once it leaves my memory a bit more. No real-time ray tracing, but there are mods that get close enough.
Plus, real-time ray tracing is going to plummet frames, if you don’t have a good gpu.
Definitely won’t be getting 4K60 with RT on consoles. Might get that on some PCs

@@CallMeTeci The writing of the DLCS are amazing. I will admit, the story for the base game is not that great and it's only special because it's being carried by the characters and not the plot. That's why I prefer the story of Witcher 2 overall. But of course nothing can compete with the DLC stories.

@@CallMeTeci the story makes a lot of sense for a character based on the books and lore. That being said, I don't think you need to read books (although books make it much more satisfying, and they're great) to enjoy the game as long as you are into character-oriented stories. While I agree that the concept of the story might not fit perfectly with the open-world game, I find the story itself written well (and the love that many players share for this game should indicate that I'm not the only one enjoying it).

And as such is why he's so hard on her, Trying to use training and her natural magical abilities to get her by instead of mutations and potions. And obviously that wasn't what he was taught and as such he's terrified of teaching her the wrong things thus leading to her possible death.

I remember waiting for the Witcher 3 video. As a fellow Coloradoan knowing you were from Fort Collins was really cool, I supported your sticker campaign when you still had Khaleesi, and I still have that signed sticker. You're one of the best gaming channels I've ever come across! Here for many MORE years to come, Luke!

As a recent sub, I'd find it quite fun to see what it'd be like to see previously reviewed games with today's experience. Kinda why I'm already enjoying these revisits you're already doing on older games. 🤙

i tried to play it for the first time in 2022 and wasnt tht impressed, ive put it on hold indefinitely which is unfortunate cuz i really wanted to be absorbed and eventually play blood and wine, im a big rpg fan but a lot of things could be behind my non excitement.

This game has to be one of the most unengaging experiences I've played through. There were very few parts in the game that hooked me but the characters, especially the protagonist and the world he lives in, just didn't hook me in and make me feel invested. Going on a wild goose chase looking for your adopted daughter got stale fast. And the twirly, whirly combat made me feel fatigued after even months into the game. I just couldn't enjoy this.

The Witcher 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. I sank hundreds of hours into it and I love the deep immersion and world building that this game provides. So I can totally get the excitement for the next Witcher games, knowing now that they are confirmed to be a trilogy. I'm extremely curious at what kind of world and plot they are going to develop, especially since they are using a new engine this time.

To see if it holds up? HAHAHAHA xD Against what exactly? What are you even talking about? Like we have better open world RPG games now. Like, seriously, name ONE released after 2015.

It's such an incredible game. For such a surreal world it seems so real like every character seems like a real person. Its amazing storytelling. They really did achieve something amazing with the game. I find it near impossible to enjoy RPG's now because none of them come close.

The Best video game soundtrack ever. Ride your horse by the countryside when music is playing is one of the experience you could hace on any video game. Brilliant.

If this later save was done before the major rework of the menu systems that’s what probably caused the level bar to blink

I think Witcher’s true accomplishment is creating a protagonist that we actually aspire to be like. Being Geralt for a while is one of the best feelings

It certainly is. I made a complete playthrough, dlcs included, se months ago. I was surprised when i realise the game felt just as fantastic now than it did years ago. Will always love this game.

Goated, the music by itself tells you how captivating this game is, the worst thing about it? It ends and if you really loved it, it won't be easy to get into anything else for a while.
