I'm so excited for you to get into this show. What a great series Arcane turned out to be. You honestly don't need to know anything about LoL to enjoy the show
This show only has 9 episodes but I promise you that you will cry several times by the end of it. I don't know how many times I have rewatched this show and some scenes still get me emotional every single time. One of the best shows I have ever watched and I am super excited for season 2 because from the trailers we have seen it looks even better than season 1.
You don't need to know anything about League of Legends to enjoy the show. It's almost better if you don't know anything about the game because then you don't know who is a character from the game and who isn't. The only thing you are missing is small details in the background for people who know about it but otherwise in terms of the story everything is new to even League of Legend veteran players
