I’m happy you mentioned you can’t use all of that HP on the road unless you’re on the track. That’s why I want an RT, it’s fun to drive and I’ll do a pull here and there, but I’m also faster than most cars on the road
Nice catch getting a 485 HP car at 20 yrs old. My 1st car was a 2001 Hyundai TIburon FWD with an eye-watering 140 HP. A bad choice, but back then I knew nothing about cars and I bought it used in 2006. It was a 2.0 L 4 cylinder and it was sh*t on gas.(Even 4 cyl cars can be gas pigs.) Next car was a 2010 V6 Charger SXT (250 HP - still driving it), and my newest car is a 2022 Charger R/T Daytona in Frostbite Blue. The Daytona at 370 HP is always a blast to drive. I feel like a god when I'm in it. Looks and sounds great. 0-100 time is crazy fast. Con 1: The extra $ we spend on gas is the price we pay for having a car that looks, sounds and performs better than 90% of the other cars on the road. (Still a lot cheaper than a coke habit. That's at least $200 per day, if you're serious about it.) Con 2: Car care. Waxing, washing, winter storage costs, new tires, mods. Gotta buy the premium car wash and wax to keep the car looking its best. A once a year quality interior/exterior detail runs about $250. Tires wear out faster than they do on a hyundai sonata. Torque is fun, but expensive. Con 3: 18 year old honda civic drivers with bolt-on fart can exhausts constantly wanting to race. (As if they have a fkn chance of winning. Tell them you only race for pinks...they'll go away.) Con 4: Depreciation. Chargers depreciate like a mutha. Though maybe now since they aren't making them any more, they might hold their value better. Pro 1: Charger, any model year, is one of the best looking cars ever made. Pro 2: You know your car is quicker and faster than the majority of cars on the road. Pro 3: Lots of compliments from strangers. Mostly guys, but still, a compliment is a compliment. Pro 4: A sense that you've "made it." A V8 RWD Charger/Challenger is usually a reward for years of hard work. The car is prestigious, something you are proud of and protect like a newborn baby.
You got to be making MINIMUM $27/hr or 52k/yr before taxes (in total) to safely afford this car whether that's between one job or multiple. Because AFTER taxes (33% of income), gas (2x/ week fill up), rent (avg 1k/month), insurance (avg $275/month) 4 oil changes a year (avg $150 per service), food (avg 1k a month), other living expenses (phone bill, internet, daycare, utilities, etc.) you will have barely enough money left over to live off. If you aren't making a minimum total of 52k and aren't living with your parents, this car is too expensive for you. Get your money up.
im only 17, i have a job but make nothing close to 27/hr. i only my car payment, gas and insurance. Since im still living with my parents, i dont pay anything else.
Wrong! The new car payment should Not be more than 15% of your paycheck. Assume it costs about $60k You got to make at least $43/hr or 88k/yr to comfortably afford it
@@jonathanmorales701 those wrx are sick, and yea bro I’m only 24 and my advice for anyone with this car or the hellcat. Is too take care of it, and watch out for the wheel spin.
