    Excellent in-depth video. 👍 If I want to share a video file on Facebook, my guess is I would paste the copied link, but would anyone have access to the rest of my files? Or even see them?
    Sorry, I'm new to both Drive and Facebook at this point.
    Thank you. 👍

    Very useful video, Thank you.
    I am trying to share a folder with my colleague and he can access it from the browser.
    However he also has Google drive for desktop installed. He cannot see these shared folder in his local dirve.
    As I am sharing Microsoft docs 7 excel files he needs them available locally so that he can edit and update the file.
    Is there anyway this can be done?

    Hi if we share a folder of files with a person and than later we add more files to that folder will that person receive too the later added files ?

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is correct. The share settings you apply to a folder will affect all current and future files within that folder.

    Great tips as always. I learned a ton about the G-Suite through your channel. Would be cool if you can do tutorials for Basecamp or Jira. Just moved over to role that is more PM in nature and will be using those two often.

    Is there a way to @tag people on sheets?
    I have a big chart which I use to let workers know when their shifts are.
    The chatr is shared with all of then.
    Can I tag them (using their email?) in a box instead of just writing their name so they will get notified?

      Yes, you can tag people within specific cells. This article can show you more: sheetsformarketers.com/how-to-tag-someone-on-google-sheets/

    Hey I have a Problem with my Google Drive Shared Folder. So basically the Company I am working for created a (Shared Folder) and they said that I can upload as many Files as I want on it, the Problem is, every time I upload something in that Shared Folder, it takes my space, and apparantly it should take up their space. How can I fix this Problem?

    Thank you for this very useful video. How do you allow someone to delete a file from a Google Drive shared folder? That's not mentioned anywhere.

    is there a way to know who or how many views on a folder I upload in drive and share the link on social media ?

  • @jacksonmacd

    Good stuff, but I am unclear how shared resources are viewed by people who do not have a Google account. Your example used a Hotmail address, but IIUC, such an address can also represent a Google account. I deal with colleagues with Yahoo or ISP accounts who are reluctant to open a Google account. Can I get the full sharing functionality, or am I limited to sending them a link, and thus limiting them to Viewer status?

    PROBLEM if you see this and can address ... set up : FOLDER in G Drive - share link view only . Files are seen - but _ FOLDERS withIN the share link FOLDER do not show up for the viewer / recipient of the Share link. ( They do show if I log into my G Drive . ) - is there a solution for all FOLDERS inside the share link FOLDER to be visible to the person that uses the SHARE link to the primary FOLDER to see everything inside it . ( WITH OUT PULLING all the files out of the hidden folders ) Thanks

    Suppose I am added to a shared drive and I am the manager there. Apart from that, there are no other members added; it's only me in there.
    Now, if I upload any files there, will anyone else have access to those files like being able to see them?
    Like the organization or someone above me or if im removed from accessing it?
    Note that there are no other members than me in that shared drive.

    • @Simpletivity
      @Simpletivity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, if you are the only member (and manager) of a shared drive and upload files there, no one else will have access to those files. Here's why:
      Manager Permissions: As a manager, you have full control over the shared drive. This includes adding and removing members, as well as setting their permission levels.
      No Other Members: Since you're the only member, there's no one else with access by default.
      Isolated Environment: Shared drives are like separate file systems within Google Drive. Files uploaded there are not automatically visible to your organization or anyone above you in the hierarchy.
