Well since my new gladiator won't be my daily, You've convinced me to go with Mud tires. It looked like that trail was made for grippers. Thanks for the video.
Our local group S Carolina Trail Stalkers wheeled Uwharrie Thanksgiving weekend. They mentioned they got to see a JT run Daniel. Now I see it was your JT. It's a small world. Congrats on the awesome weekend.
Front side of Daniel is no joke. Couple of buddies and I went out 2 weeks ago and did it at midnight, I wussed out in my Jeep. The JT is performing awesome.
@@JKGearandGadgets Not at all. I watched some videos to prepare myself and thought "oh its not that bad". When you see the first two sections, man, its so different in person. The second section made me rip the leather on my buddies JL with my clenched butthole.
JK Gear and Gadgets I snapped a rear axle shaft just past where it was parked. Good news is I was able to drive it out at the end of the day and upgraded chromoly shafts are on the way 😉
Those all terrains did ok out there. Decent tires for all purpose driving good stuff👍👍 idk about rausch creek tho, kinda tight for that wheel base 2dr heaven up there! But I'll definitely watch...do rock creek!!!😁😁😁
I see the JT Gladiators have the same windshield issue the JLs have. Jeep needs thicker or stronger glass. That color of your Gladiator is perfect. The bumpers match perfectly.
Nice Ben, it’s cool to see you wheeling your gladiator. Mine is on a 3” Synergy MFG lift and 38s and it wheels great. I’m really happy with how it performs. I do mainly rock crawling here in CA so I really want to get a nice full belly skid. I might take a crack at building my own. The belly gets hung up a lot that’s the only thing. If your going to stay at 3” of lift get some nice skids.
Camrahnbay Camrahnbay It crawls great actually. I’ve taken it through a few trails, one was pretty tight and technical. I’m not trying to promote my channel on Ben’s channel but i have some videos on my channel rock crawling it
Great video! It’s so refreshing to see folks who have nice rigs actually wheel em. Keep it up y’all and we want more Cassie!!...hope I spelled that right.
To make a Gladiator useful as a boulder-hopping machine, you are going to have to trash everything except the body, the entire suspension and drivetrain, and go with something like the EVO setup. That’s what all the other TH-camrs have done, Wayalife did it and shot a multi-episode video series about it. I’m sure it will be expensive, Eddie never disclosed how much.
I have a few wheeling videos. I’d love to make more, but with both Cassie and I both having full time jobs with twins, it’s hard to find time to go often
Thanks guys you all just gave me the confidence I needed to go ahead and buy the gladiator...and ill put 37" under it ....but I'm going with a 4.5 inch lift maybe even a 6" depending probably go with the 4.5 " , im setting it up as an overlander with the pop topper and cargo rack , snorkel, winch and led bar ect.
Hey jeep looks great. Just found your channel. I had an 06 Rubicon unlimited (lj) that I kept for 10 years. Had dana 60's 5.7 hemi long arm suspension. Always went to Rausch Creek. Sold it in 16 and just bought a Rubicon gladiator 2 weeks ago. Missed the jeep. Looking to do a small lift as with the old jeep I raised it up right then at the end lowered it and stayed on 37in tires. Let us know when you go and would be cool to have a bunch of gladiator's all together
It's a hugely capable platform and I agree with the 3" lift. As its purpose is a family vehicle it would be great to see you build this out with a canopy camper, kitchen and sleeping arrangements then see how it wheels. Could be interesting as your JK is setup for rock crawling etc you could tow it behind for family adventures?
37s look great on your gladiator. Hope you guys get to lift it soon and post some videos on this same trail. The long wheel base is definitely an issue here. I wonder how my 2 dook JK rubicon would do. I have a 2.5 in lift with 35s. As I live in FL i don't get to experience many of these places.
I've only driven this in my dreams. I wish I could afford it. For now I'll drive my JKU. It's really nice. Can't wait for your update videos on the mods and upgrades
Took my JK Rubicon with A.T tires and they preformed great better then the mt I use have on them and it was really wet . Wanted to go back before they close don't think going get chance.. thinking about getting gladiator, look forward to seeing you out there
Took my stock Rubicon Gladiator on Fins n Things in Moab and it was not challenged. A little scraping here and there but not as bad as i thought. I think im gonna give Hells Revenge a shot here soon.
My JT is sitting on 2.5" lift in the front and .75" in the rear with 35s. I wheel Uwharrie with it as well but the day you were there I was in Windrock Park in TN. It performed great and went everywhere I wanted to go. Very capable machine right out of the box but the lift and tires just do so much more for it. Videos of my truck wheeling on my channel
Let ,me know when you go next time id be down to see how my JK does off road. My draw back is gonna be lockers though, due to the fact I have none as of right now.
cant wait to buy the 7 slot customs bumper on this friday or the next cause my job is FINALLY gonna pay my hours back that they forgot to give me so im super excited to get that bumper for my JT especially with that 15% and the other 10 with the discount from this channel
Nice, i'm needed up there probably sometime in April in my JT. I'm running KO2s in a 315 70 17 but looking hard at a set of 37's. I'm down to Milestar Patagonia's M/T In a 37 12.5 17 or cooper ats-3 xlt In the same size. Also got 2.5" ReadyLift spacer lift and Rubicon front take off springs and shocks. Two questions, how much lift you got on the Rubicon and would you if gotten a M/T if you could do it over again. I like you daily drive mine with occasional towing. Thanks for the video by the way, love your stuff. Also could you measure the height of your rig and let me know ground to middle of fenders in the rear and front. I know you got the highline fenders and I have a Max tow but I'm just trying to get a idea of fender clearance on mine with the current lift.
It’s amazing how 2” can make such a difference. Nice to see a true budget setup in action! As I said before you need a min 2.5” lift to run this tire size. Then a skid plate system. I have taken some damage already. I ended up with a 3.5” lift (skyjacker no spacers)and full adjustable control arms. I want to squeeze 40s eventually. Check out my video. It’s short but fun.
3" lift with the 37's sounds right to me. I like the lower center of gravity and still following the big boys where they go. I do have a question will you be willing to let the Jeep Dealership install the lift? If they do the install the Jeep warranty comes into play. OMB
I won’t let a dealer install the lift. Even then, I think they only “warranty” the mopar lift. I’m not worried about losing warranty on the suspension components.
Ugh. I'm not happy I found your channel cuz I hate binge watching for hrs on end ...LOL Great vids man. And a 4" Evo suspension lift with 35" Nitto Mud Terrains down to 10lbs was unstoppable in my JKU 4dr.. I just high centered a lot with the longer wheelbase like the truck.. Fantastic vid and trail showing exactly what to expect!!! The pretty codriver doesn't hurt either!!
Hey Ben when are you heading to Rausch? Im in winchester va and go up there a few times a year. We are actually going to the cove this Saturday which is in gore if you haven’t been there you should definitely check it out. Over 3000 acres of trails right here in northern va
Rubbing is RIDING..!!! In a JT..!!! Skid plates are necessary..lol.. Sweet video.. happy holidays..!! Oh.. 37x12.50 fit factory off road rims? Got rough country 2.5 inch spacer lift.. Yet to be installed..!!👍
Man that be sick to wheel with you Ben!! Idk if my Jeep keep up ,,,2 Door jk on 315s!! Have Winch ,,,also bumpers!! It's Rubicon as well!! I am Not to far from There
Great video again guy's . Love your Gladiator and where your going with it . Do you guy's have any new videos coming on Cassie's channel on her LJ ? Until next time take care .
I just put 37’s on my JL but havent had it on a trail yet. We were hoping to get to Moab in Sept but family matters prevented us from going. I have a early build JL that had some of the steering issues. I was afraid the 37’s would make it worse but I would say that it hasnt.. I still have some steering issues I want to address and think that the Falcon Stabalizer might help the on-road characteristics I am having.
Hey man your channel is been a blessing since 1 year ago when a star dreaming to have my gladiator! Thanks for all the great video and knowledge! I learn so much! I have a question I have a rubicon JT 2021 and is lift to factory with mopar 2” with 37”, winch warm 10,000 , rock climbing step etc is getting little heavy one think a noticed was when I put the winch, steps. I have also the superchips. That I need to regear? gonna put rack and tent also, not looking to do overland full time put pretty similar setup that you have in your JT Used the supechip f 5 is awesome, one of the thinks I noticed was the diameter in the tires was 35.25 for my tires which is the correct number put feel heavy, I try to change the size diameter to 37” and work incredibly amazing. Almost like factory, I don’t know if this is good or bad in the long run. This is a JT family friendly the most I going to put is rack, tent and few accessories like hat tank etc.I forgot to see I have terablex 1.5 front and track bar and quick disconnect sway bar from JKS and 1000 air suspension to put :) let me know what you think.
Nice set up, my gladiator is on its way and already have the lift kit and tires .I think the tires you have on dont have the grip you need for rocks, not enought bite.Otherwise ive watched many of your videos and 1st class the way you do it.
They do for sure! But 40s don’t work well for a Daily driver and family rig. I don’t expect this to be a rock crawler as I have the Jk for that. I really want to keep this jeep family friendly and start making more camping and adventure trips with the family while still having a good setup. We will see though, 40s are temping and do look good on it haha.
Dang looks like you have a serious windshield crack at about 3:20, but I just do a lot of 2 track back road off roading in the mud so I may stay at a 3 inch lift with AT 37’s or 2 inch lift with AT 35’s
I'm still undecided on getting a gladiator. I like the rubricon. I'd use it to off road and for hunting. I still hate the low gas mileage specially as a daily driver
Great content.. just subscribed a few weeks ago as I’ve been researching the Gladiator as potentially my next truck (with the diesel ). I’m a bush camping quad & SxS guy that loves spending my time in the Canadian Rockies ( Alberta). All that said, how do those tires perform on the highway and would they still do well pulling a 5k or so load. It takes a couple hours too get to these spots from where I’m at. Really starting to fall for this truck. For me the added low end torque of the diesel is the icing on the cake. I will be using it as my daily to, so I’m watching your channel carefully as it seems that is your intent as well. Keep em coming!
I’m sure you all have some real tires on there by now. Lol it was fun though I’d say doin burn outs on rocks. You couldn’t have air’d down much though- tires didn’t seem very “mooshy”. I have the Yokohama geo mt’s (37) on my diesel gladdy. Very kool video thanks
What is it with Jeeps and cracked windscreens? Im in JK here in Aus but only 2.5in lift on 33s because of our super tight restrictions on mods. Makes us pick good lines i guess. Great vid as always. #1 Aus fan.👍
Great video regarding the COR lift. I have looked at several kids and as a result of your video I am strongly leaning to the COR. I will have 37s bfg ko2 and plan to go no bigger. Do you still recommend the COR. What height. I will mainly be around town and on highway but will drive to Colorado a couple times a year. No hard core rock crawling but some moderate and difficult trails. Do you like the fox shocks or the falcons.
I said the same thing in your last video! 3 inch lift and 37s definitely going to happen on my gladiator sport! I am still wanting to add gears... 533? I am going to loose some power on the tires! I am thinking my camper might over do it without some upgrades??
This answered everything! I have the same gladiator and I am trying to decide 35s or 37s. Definitely going with 37s. How do you like you bed cover? Is it water proof? Did it come with the Jeep from the factory?
What cover are you gonna go with? Why are you changing it out? I need to get one soon and I’m not sure what is a good brand or if I should get the rolling or folding?... what do you think? I love your channel by the way.
Just wondering, are the Falcon shocks necessary or can I get away with my stock Rubicon Fox's and the leveling kit? Just subbed, awesome channel! Just got my 2020 JT 3 weeks ago! thanks in advance!
Do you plan on putting rock sliders on your JT? I've been thinking about either the ACE Engineering or ShrockWorks ones. What about 3.5inch lifts, is there anything you're sort of eyeballing right now? I've been looking at either JKS or the Metalcloak kit that apparently will be out Q1 2020.
I’m new to the Jeep community. I just just bought my JTR about 4 months ago. I thought it was good til I saw 37’s on it. after a TON of research I pulled the trigger on a 2” mopar lift, ko2 37’s and some wheels with back spacing at 4.5 and the offset at -12. I’m also doing alignment and programmer for my Speedo. I’ve been off roading 3 times in my life. And that with my new JTR. My very 1st trail was in Moab. The last trail I went in had a bunch of off shoots and I gave it a go for most. Anyways.... I’m wondering how the gears hold up with the 4:10 Dana’s and this set up. It looks like you have the similar set up minus the lift. Would you regiment wheeling in 4:10?? Or it best to wait til I regear to 4:88? And by the way- thanks for making these videos. It helps a lot of newbs like me out!
Great to see you wheelin the JT with the 1.5” front spacer with 37” tires. I want to put a 3” front and 1.5” rear Fabtech lift with standard shocks. Wil that work ? Would-be great if you could answer me. 👍💪🥇greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸
JK Gear and Gadgets thanks for the quick answer. I thought the kit would level out the difference between front and rear with 1.5” so it would be better than the factory setting. Best regards from The Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸✌️🥇
Hi Ben, I am a fan of your channel. You have mad skills...love the welding bits. I bought a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave used with 2K miles. I was looking at the Rubicon but was able to save about $11K over a comparably equipped 2021 Rubicon. I am very pleased with the truck so far. I suspect It will not be a great rock crawler unless I modify it...even so, I doubt it would fare well in the rock crawling environment without a locking front diff. Is it possible to get the best of both worlds?...can I add an aftermarket diff and sway bar disconnect to a Mojave, without losing all of it"s DNA? I would value your opinion on this. I am also a vet. I was a helicopter pilot. I love adventure and am looking forward to getting out there and learning. I used to drive a CJ5 during my High School days in Colorado. I currently live in Texas and plan to use my Jeep mostly locally and while vacationing in Colorado.
Where are you at in Texas? There’s quite a few places around up north! Honestly, what it sounds like you need/want is a mix of a good daily driver that can handle moderate trails when you want. With a rear locker, you’ll be able to do more than enough. I would suggest adding a small 1.5” spacer lift so you can keep your Mohave suspension, so some small coil spacers and shock extensions to match (I think there are kits like this specifically for the Mohave). Some 35s would be good in the future to pair with the added suspension height. But before that, I would grab a set of aftermarket front sway bar quick disconnects. As well as a front bumper that is winch capable. A setup like this will ride pretty much just like it does now, but will increase the Offroad performance.
@@JKGearandGadgets Thanks. I am in the DFW area. Wow! I was editing my post when I noticed you had already responded. Great recommendations all of which were along the lines of what I was thinking. Nice set up, my gladiator is on its way and already have the lift kit and tires .I think the tires you have on dont have the grip you need for rocks, not enought bite.Otherwise ive watched many of your videos and 1st class the way you do it.
Ben 40’s seems to work best on JT because of the length. Watch a lot of video’s including yours.
Awesome video Ben! Makes me want a JT
I'm still undecided on getting a gladiator. I like the rubricon. I'd use it to off road and for hunting. I still hate the low gas mileage specially as a daily driver
Love your build! Looking to maybe get a diesel when it’s available! You will love raush creek!
I have same goals with my JT
What is it with Jeeps and cracked windscreens? Im in JK here in Aus but only 2.5in lift on 33s because of our super tight restrictions on mods. Makes us pick good lines i guess. Great vid as always. #1 Aus fan.👍
Awesome Video!!! I don’t know if I’d wheel a JT....
Like your gladiator. Can you guys do a review if water goes inside when it rains? Thank you.
Is that a crack in a brand new windshield?
Nice Jeep, by the way. Looking at the exact same thing right now...
Great video..if you decide to wheel it at RC. Hit me up my JT is on 37s with a 3.5 lift. Does pretty good at RC.
Loved the broke down Toyota jab..
Rausch Creek only 1.5 hrs from me. Let me know when you're going.
I seen a AFES bag. lol
Sorry mine is a Rubicon just thought yours was haven't seen it in a while
Oh yeah a Rubi Lj on 35s would kill it. We have a sport, but soon it will have Dana 44s and lockers 🤘
Hi Ben. Do you think I could get away with this same set up with a 17x9 wheel w 4.75 backspacing ? Love your channel!
This is the mopar cover. I’m actually installing a new cover soon!
What cover are you gonna go with? Why are you changing it out? I need to get one soon and I’m not sure what is a good brand or if I should get the rolling or folding?... what do you think? I love your channel by the way.
Justin Yager I’m going with a diamondback hard cover. I will explain why in the video. Should be doing it very soon’
Glad you let those Toyota guys know what’s up
Suzuki Samurai rock climbing? god that has to be a beating.
How are the 37s with out regear? Thinking of going 35s
Just wondering, are the Falcon shocks necessary or can I get away with my stock Rubicon Fox's and the leveling kit?
Just subbed, awesome channel! Just got my 2020 JT 3 weeks ago!
thanks in advance!
You can keep the factory shocks, just make sure to get shock extensions
Dude, thank goodness it didn't rain! That would have created a serious problem within itself! You'd have had to bring out the #BEEF
#beefbringer
Nice performance .... thanks
Did you deflate your tires at all? Edit: I guess you did, I see you aired them up at the end. About what PSI was you running?
Yep, 13psi this time
When did you crack your windshield?
Do you plan on putting rock sliders on your JT? I've been thinking about either the ACE Engineering or ShrockWorks ones.
What about 3.5inch lifts, is there anything you're sort of eyeballing right now? I've been looking at either JKS or the Metalcloak kit that apparently will be out Q1 2020.
Great footage! What 37" tire did you use ?
Looks like the Yokohama Geolandar X-AT. I have them on my GX470. Good tire and you don't see them as much as KO2 or Ridge Grappler.
Yeah that would work! But you might sit a tad higher in the front
JK Gear and Gadgets thanks for the quick answer. I thought the kit would level out the difference between front and rear with 1.5” so it would be better than the factory setting. Best regards from The Netherlands 🇳🇱❤️🇺🇸✌️🥇
One million ways to scratch your belly.
instablaster...
Awesome video! Are you running the factory spare tire under the Jeep?
Yep, haven’t had time to get the 37 under there and make sure it fits
I liked your approach of taking it one step at a time to see what works. Keep the great content coming. Hi to Cassie and the girls. My name is Gary.
Which bed cover are you using? I love it.
I'm waiting for the diesel to come out. If not the gladiator a wrangler diesel..
Jose Zamora you have some big kahoonas to try that engine, you realize the problems they had with the previous generations?
