Hey Eric, I'm in my 60's and pre-Covid would see a band as often as possible, also still buy new music on a regular basis. I started seeing bands at 4 with the Beatles (courtesy of my parents). It's so important to learn about music at a young age and always have open ears to new music. :)

I think the struggle was less with the absurdity of the lyrics and more to do with the absurdity of singing "I went to school and I got the Big D" to a tent full of children. And their grandparents.
I am 75 y old and like these creative young folk! But they are NOT unknown!! See Wall Street Journal April 6! Their shows are affordable, < $250/ ticket, thank God! Love the chemistry!
I was lucky enough to be there near the front and also to have caught them a few weeks prior when they (I think) first played this song live. I'd never heard their music before, but the infectious joy of their whole live set was life affirming. They've enough songs like this for an album and with Dan Carey on board (certainly for their next single and hopefully an upcoming album), I fully expect that joyful vibe to come across on record too.

Way more common than you'd think. I mean, tbh, even Katy Perry can play the guitar adequately. There are huge metal scenes, punk scenes and indie scenes around the world. Maybe search some new stuff.

I'm a 78 year old great-grandfather who has been in the international music business since 1972 and totally in love with the band. When I see the videos of the live performances, I'm a teen again and jumping along. Unfortunately I didn't get a ticket for the concert of Harry Styles (Special guest Wet Leg) in my hometown Vienna on August 7th, 2023.
They probly laughing cause she never would've thought her silliest song would be a hit.. seems like they wrote it while high af and were messing around so it stuck. 😆 Love it!!
