This is honestly some of the best educational content I've ever seen. It's got the captivation of a good goofy ah TH-cam Video but actually explains things at a good pace.
Honestly the most informative and helpful video I've seen on this...great work man! It's hilarious to see someone sound as exhausted as I get while doing music sometimes lmao. I love your line delivery and use of clips, thank you! :D
You’re my dad. Thank you for making a video about exactly what music I wanted to create at such an in depth beginner level. Very informative plus love the extra non music, general encouragement. You’re a funny dude, the edits and scattered brain moments are gold. Ty for making this sir
I’ve never had a music tutorial make me locked-in studiously one moment and then make me bust out laughing the next. Every bit you were like “that wasn’t even a good bit” were the best ones. I know you haven’t uploaded for a while, but I REALLY hope to see more like this. You’ve got the sauce to be the best out there. Not forcing ofc ofc
that was mostly a joke about picking up slow habits on the software, I'm fairly sure selecting split by channel is the most efficient way but I always end up doing it the dinosaur way
This is genuinely the most informative video on how to compose using FL Studio I've encountered so far. I appreciate your sense of humour as it really helps elevate the video and keeps my brain engaged in what you're saying. That said, sometimes the memes are a little much while I'm trying to process how to use the software, specifically the spike in volume. Amazing video though, thank you!
HEY, i made a composition before watching this on my channel and its the green one vs the one i made after watching which is the purple one this video helped me a lot on only my second composition so thank you so much
Excellent video brother, I love your perspective and tone in the video. Gave me new outlooks, and grounded approach for musical ideas. Keep it up earned a sub.
Very nice video, I wanna try making one of these now. I was actually listening to these minute songs a lot recently, nice to find some sort of tutorial
Man when you said "as an Aristotelian would say" I was like "please don't be a gag" ... too bad, Aristotelians have some good stuff to say about what makes music good. Thanks for this video all the same, very useful for a noob like me :)
@@Vergence man I wish I knew, honestly it is beyond me, I've mainly been interested in Thomistic stuff which draws a lot on Aristotle, but not in music, just in like metaphysics and stuff like that. There's stuff like how each part of music hits a certain part of the soul, for example the rythm hits the passions, the harmony hits the will, and the melody hits the intellect, but that's about all I understand about it haha
Before I go and watch that music theory vid I just gotta say, you voice is great. I could listen to you talk for hours. (In a wholesome, not weird way). I had a hard time with DAW tutorials cuz everything I clicked had a guy talking with the most obnoxious voice ever..
Hey man, great video! I haven’t finished it yet but I have finished your phonk for noobs video. I would like to start creating my own music and I even got FL studio and was playing around with it last night. I come from a classical music background and I can play several instruments. I wanted to make phonk music that incorporates classical music aspects. I still have several questions about FL studio specifically and I would like to get in touch with you. I’m used to having to make music in a more physical form and not a digital one😅 I am very much an amateur to digital music.
how do i know when its a good idea to use notes that are out of key of the scale i'm in, like you did around 6:50 ? Also, how do i know which off key notes to use, when to use them, etc? sorry i know its a vague question and the answer is gonna be "do it when it sounds good" but i'm tryna understand why being out of key can sound good, and how I can use and understand it better? Id love a video about this
I mean acknowledging the tension that it creates is really the most important step, also using it as a transition between two notes in the scale will generally always work, like if you are walking up by half steps. Also knowing the “blue note” or basically the sharp that is added to the respective pentatonic scale to make it a blues scale can be helpful in choosing an off key note that still works
I don't know if you would consider what I made something like this but I did recently upload my first creation in FL Studio to youtube with some help from this video :)
Hey, not sure if you're still responding to comments on this video but I need a bit of help with the spitfire audio thing (I'm not very good with computers, I only know the most basic stuff) I downloaded the spitfire audio application to my laptop but I don't know how to actually use the stuff from it on fl studio.

i usually write entire songs on one pattern with every instrument lol. i only ever split them into separate patterns for cosmetic effect
that works too !! I like to keep them separate since I usually reuse a few of them along the way in other parts of the song :)
