Just out of curiosity if your trying to simulate something would you go with Emulate 3D from Rockwell or nirtec east plc? We have emulate 3d but not sure if it’s as quick as the conveyor builder in nirtec
So, questions on what PLCs can you use, it is only the following PLC Firmware as of 2023/3/31 5580 ControlLogix - firmware versions 35.11, 34.11, 33.11 5580 GuardLogix - firmware versions 35.11 Echo software versions out are 2.01 and 1. CompactLogix is not out at this time. Note that this is not StudioLogix versions.
@@ShaneWelcher, Thanks for clarifying what you are running. My note was for the general audience. Just installed V2.01, as I am working to use Echo on one VM and want to talk with another VM running System Platform for development. Did it with Rocwell Emulate 8 years ago or so...
Hi Shane, i wanna emulate guardlogix by v34.11 revision, but i don't have, it in the FactoryTalk Logix Echo catalog. can you advise me where can i find it... Thank you from your follower from Morocco.
Right now, I do not believe there is an option for that. Echo is new & is something they need to make some improvements on so I think that is what they are concerned with instead of new versions. At least as of 7-26-2022 from my knowledge.
@@zackzhu1617 Good to know...I do know that they have efforts around fixing a few bugs. Just wanted to let you know. With that said, they are generally fast at fixing things especially in the last two years
There is a known issue when using multiple controllers in Logic Echo as of 7-22-2022, Rockwell is working on this & may have a resolution by now, however I am not aware of that fix. Echo is a new product from Rockwell so they are going through growing pains from what I see unless you have a lot of ram being used fast CPU being that Echo is computer based.
@@adamplesyt You'll run into problems running multiple PLC programs with Echo right now on Echo version 1. It is a known fact. They are working on making it more durable.

Good Stuff. Was waiting long time for it to be rolled out.
Great video just getting to use echo at work
Thanks
Hi @ShaneWelcher, what if the chosen IP address/Device is showing as Unknown? I'm a new grad, so learning everything from scratch mostly.
That means you need to update the eds files

I use Echo V1, haven't upgraded yet.
Yes, I know it's a bit limited

I wish this was available for lower end controllers. We already pay through the nose for development licenses.
It does allow lower end processors on version 2 and added the controllers like safety and compact logix.
From version 36 and higher.
one thing is that you still can use RSlinx to communicate with Echo
Just follow what I show that easily works

Thank you from your follower from Morocco.
You may need to update FactoryTalk Echo to use V34.
Get that from the PCDC section of the Rockwell Automation website
If we download the project then if i m having remote io's so echo will take care for all that?
Using echo allows the PLC processor to scan the code, not the I/O cards.
It basically puts them in a non connected status
does it support simulation of safety logic?
Yes on version 35 and 36
Thank You
Glad it was helpful
Hi , it is work with devicenet network ??? Thanks
Echo works all field devices
Hi Shane, how should we add new firmware into this echo , right now im only able to create for V33.11 , looking to use it for V34

Can The Echo Run with comactlogix 5380 controller?
Yes, Echo is new though so using multiple controllers takes time.
Is Logix Echo able to do a redundancy simulation?

You can download redundant project into Echo controller, but it would show status "primary without secondary".
