hi there thank you so much for this, this is the only start from scratch videos on the internet that i could find. One do not need a physical plc to follow along thanx alot.. Please do more of these start from scratch 😃😃😃
Hi Shane, I appreciate the effort and details in the videos. They are brilliant. I noticed in the Batching Station playlist the video for creating the Recipe Pop-up window is not listed. Can I access it after I join the channel? Thanx
it will be nice if you show us the physical connection so we can imitate it. thanks for the course. I bought 3 of your courses from UDEMY and had pretty much the same issue i started the Servo Motion Mastery and figured that i have to watch few of your videos from TH-cam to be able to follow you properly.
Hi Shane. Love the videos, I have been watching them to learn the Rockwell UI for a new job so all these are super helpful. I have a question. You mentioned that the hardware configuration (rack components, module specs, revision numbers etc) is the same that you have used in a previous project (the videos of which I probably haven't watched yet). So if I was setting up my RSLinx for the first time ever, would I need to get all that information from the physical module packaging/documents or will it be detected on RSLinx when I set up the ethernet connection?
To clarify, i mention the IO that I have used in other projects on this TH-cam channel, like my 30 day servo project series or my Powerflex 525 videos. In the case of the first time setting something up, you can look on the card to get the information as well, just be mindful that the card's firmware may have been flashed or need to be flashed so double check all of that after you manually enter in the information. Always verify your work by checking the system.
Hi Shane, I have a question for you. Is there a technique to calculate the period time of each periodic task when there are multiple periodic tasks in the same project? By the way thanks for this amazing TH-cam channel!
Thank you for the support. For periodic tasks, I use each based on input needs from devices & for other processes then watch the overlap or CPU health. This is highly used for machinery timing for perfect implementation. I teach this in my courses but it is case by case different for calculating them. Meaning, machinery dependant or device dependant
First, thanks for this great content I am new to this channel and was confused about how to follow this great content I am interested in studio/Rslogix 5000 , so I think that this course is suitable for me to start learning from scratch. Is this correct? thank you Shane Welcher
This is a setup for communication between computer and the controller using Ethernet card on the rack? how do you communicate with multiple controllers in different places over the network? a network has to be created first? if yes, how? could you explain please? how do you come up with each IP address for each station? thx.
@@renaco1145 Just setup an Ethernet driver, only add the one IP address for the card you want to talk to then add another & so on. Name each one so you can easily keep track
@@ShaneWelcher There is no need for physical connection between laptop and each of those stations? if no, how the communication is made possible? each card has to be installed in different racks with different controllers right?
Please remember, the purpose is to learn logical theory & the thought process, PLC software change depending on where you work. If you do not have the software, I would recommend a free alternative. Like CodeSys. I actually have a very low-cost course that teaches this in efforts to better help anyone who did not have PLC software but is looking to learn PLC controls & logical theory of operation. Visit: www.allen-bradley-plc-training.com/p/free-plc-software-for-programmable-logical-controls-practicing Hope you have a wonderful day.
I was wondering the same thing Shane. I have the software, but I don't have the hardware. If I want to participate with the videos, is there another way to make RSlinx think I have the hardware?

Glad to help
I found your video today, and hmmmm, good method of learning. I will definitely follow you.
Thank you for very, glad to help

I offer that in my Batching Station course, it teaches every step of the way
Thank you. It's really help full for those who wants Start with Allen Bradley.
You'll love the this whole series, it will be a complete build out step by step with at least two videos per week
@@ShaneWelcher eagerly looking forward

Yes, exactly.
Great to learn from scratch.
Start from Day 1 of this project

The simplest way would be to setup separate Ethernet drivers in RSLinx for each PLC rack or Ethernet card.
Again, simple explanation
@@ShaneWelcher do you have a video or any presentation to show how? In future maybe? How you come up with IP addresses?

how do you learn this software without the actual components? I was looking for the prices and they were thousands of dollars.
