    I finally found it! I kept searching for "function block", "create instance" etc on TH-cam instead of "AOI"... those fancy names are killing me everytime

      It's easier just to search for a word directly on our channel.
      That will populate the videos we have...hope that helps.
      Have a great day

      Always glad to help, as always let me know if you have ideas on what you would like to see more of from RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000, I am going to be starting a long series of videos of a project from scratch as far as the full PLC program and the full HMI development as an over the shoulder series for the next few months.
      I am doing this to give a full system design and layout and implementation.
      Thanks,
      Shane

    Any chance you know the current draw of the unit at 24V? I am thinking of using it in an application, but only have about 80mA available.

    I'm using version 32 but the one I made was created as an input where the rung needs an output in order to work. How do you create it to where it is the output for the rung?

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The short answer is that you need to edit the Add-On Instruction to make it an output.
      I teach all of this in great detail on my other platform

    How to change Timer (TON in AOI) preset value from outside the AOI? I am moving the preset value by taking a value from outside the AOI but the timer stays at 0.

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Open the instance of the AOI tag that is use from the base of the AOI instruction then find the timer & add time.
      Or monitor the tag for that AOI then in controller tags drill down to the timer & add time.
      Two very simple methods

    i am trying a make a 5sec time pulse using fbd as add on , can u help please

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use a FDB timer then have it reset when done...that should work.
      Or add two of them to act as a flasher sequence.

      Depending on whether the AOI is locked or not, they have to be edited offline

  • @FrankPapadakis

    I have AOI's in an existing program that don't have a ladder program associated to them, but it says it's a ladder program AOI. Any idea how to fix this so I can see the logic inside the AOI?

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      KeepingItReal SpreadingTheTRUTH
      Sounds like you have a locked version, one way is to delete the signature of the AOI then it will allow an edit.

    • @FrankPapadakis
      @FrankPapadakis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ShaneWelcher how would I delete that? Thanks for your response Shane!

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FrankPapadakis Open the AOI properties then tab over to signature and delete it, the default AOI in the controller organizer of the left of the screen.
