    Here's a crazy comparison. Yankees DH is Stanton and their ace is Cole. Both elite level players. Shohei.....1 player.....is arguably better than both of them at their positions.

    Ohtani's father was a coach of little league in Japan and he said during his interview "Shohei was not a good baseball player when he was a teenager. I am so surprised he became a MLB player."
    It means Ohtani was not a genius, he is the result of all his efforts.

    The reason why I think Ohtani is the MVP is that he has set so many records this year. Judge is chasing but one. Yes, if he does manage to get that record it would be a big one but, we cannot dismiss the other one as being less important. If that were the case, then why hasn't anyone done it til Ohtani?

    Man he brings so much passion to the game. And it’s not the type of passion where he flexes on his opponents which you see a lot in other sports. His passion is genuine and not disrespectful. Even though he is the only player in MLb that can get away by flexing on opponents because he’s that freaking good but chooses to stay humble and smile. He’s my MVP

      While I love Judge, and 51 and how ever more he gets is great, but if Shohei played in Yankee Stadium he'd most likely have 10+ more homers. The right field wall is very short. You can't compare Shohei and should give him MVP if is top 10 in both pitching and hitting, which he is, every YEAR!

    Another phenomenal moment with the Phenomenon that is Shohei Ohtani. I noticed, after re-watching this a few times, that right after Shohei hit the pitch, Cole didn't turn to watch it go out. He looked down and slapped his glove in disgust without turning to confirm the ball went out of the stadium. He knew it as a goner.

    Frankly, Ohtani's value cannot be accurately measured by WAR.
    It is overlooked by the Angels' awful roster, but it should be more discussed that Ohtani does two slots worth of work in one slot on the roster.
    The stronger the team, with an abundance of good players, the more valuable he will be.

    if Shohei were playing on a contender......he could finish a season with 40+ HR, 100+ RBI, 17 wins, 200+ strikeouts, sub 3 ERA, and a dozen stolen bases to boot. What's crazy is those numbers aren't even an exaggeration, but completely attainable.

      @伊藤博文 For pitchers, there is the Cy Young Awad. For everyone else, there is the MVP. Ohtani can't win Cy Young with his pitching. Neither can he win MVP with his bat alone. Perhaps, there should be a third award, let's call it Cy-MVP, for a player who can pitch and play everyday at the same time. Unfortunately, the award system has not kept pace with the modern baseball.

    To describe Ohtani's success, this year the announcer started using the Japanese word "Sugoi" which means amazing. This time, in addition to this, they added some more Japanese words containing slang. Single Japanese word is not enough to describe his success. I love it.

    I know Judge is having a terrific year at the dish but the fact that shotime is dominant on the mound and at the plate I just don’t see how the voters can not give him the trophy again. If he keeps this pace Judge will have to break bonds home run record to beat out Shohei
