    Thank you so much, Tracy, for this valuable video. It was exactly what I was looking for on brush glazing! You are a great You Tuber!

    Enjoyed this youtube presentation by Tracy. Gave me ideas as I am in trial stages of glaze layerings. Tracy reinforced my use of the fan brush for this layering process. R

    Beautiful. But I must have missed where you told us what colors you were using. What colors are you using? And was that last one an actual underglaze or was it just in an underglaze applicator bottle? Thank you

    Thank you for this video! I followed you glazing tips on my latest two mugs in school and they came out great! I never would have thought to do three full coats but they came out just as they looked on the website, I glazed one in albany slip brown and the other with blue rutile and some highlights of shino. Thanks!

      The base glaze that Tracy uses is Albany Slip Brown which is the lighter color that you see and since she didn't apply the top glaze over the entire piece you are able to see it better. Let us know if you have any more questions 🤗

    I have had little to no success with these glazes, particularly the pilladium and the saturation gold. Any tips on how to fire these glazes properly. Brand new skut kiln, fired at both cone 5&6 at medium speed and I get a discolored matte finish.

      On air-dry clay you can but you cannot apply acrylic paint to a piece and then put it in a kiln. We hope this answers your question.

    but it always looks uneven because you can’t glaze bottom

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most stoneware is "dry-footed" or unglazed where it contacts the kiln shelf. Some Maco glazes are very stiff and can go right to the very bottom without running, but Tracy is giving them room to move and flow without running onto the kiln shelf.

    can i glaze my old gardening pots?

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to know the firing temperature of the clay before you apply glaze and fire it in a kiln. Commercially made garden pots are usually low-fire (cone 05, about 1900 degrees Fahrenheit), but not always. The glazes shown in in the video are mid-range (cone 5/6 about 2160 F) and at that temperature low-fire clay like your typical garden pot can deform and possibly melt. If you are wanting to try out glazing on commercial garden pots we'd recommend you use low-fire glazes: www.amaco.com/t/glazes-and-underglazes/low-fire

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maybe. Possibly. You would have to test, and there is no guarantee your pot wouldn't slump and ruin your shelves.

    I wonder if I put small paintstrokes on three layers of white, if the glazes will mix and blur out, ot if they will stay in place? because glazing around small paintstrokes is really not that easy :/

    • @AMACOBrent
      @AMACOBrent  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're having trouble glazing around an area where you have already applied a different glaze you can apply wax on top of the area you already glazed (once that area is dry) then you can create a crisp divide.
